Former Giants and Eagles RB Charles Scott was arrested Sunday morning on rape charges in Prairieville, LA.

Police were dispatched to Scott's home at 4AM after a disturbance was reported. Officers quickly discovered that the disturbance occurred as "a result of an 18 year old alleging she was raped by Charles Edward Scott Jr." He was booked on one count of simple rape. A sixth-round pick in the 2009 draft out of LSU, Scott had a tryout with the Colts in early October.

Free agent RB Charles Scott visited the Colts on Friday.

The 2010 sixth-round pick is believed to be near 100 percent health after suffering multiple injuries in a serious May car accident. He was active for zero games as a rookie last year, and isn't likely to get on the field this season.

Giants RB Charles Scott will be "close to 100 percent" by training camp after sustaining multiple injuries in a serious car accident two months ago.

Scott has made an "outstanding" recovery, but he may still be limited at the outset of camp. He was already facing an uphill battle to make the final roster, so there will be pressure to get back on the field quickly.

Giants RB Charles Scott is expected to be fine after a "terrible" car accident in Louisiana earlier this week.

"He's doing well," said Scott's agent. "He's definitely got some cuts and bruises. He'll be okay, put it that way." Scott was originally sent to ICU, but none of his injuries were considered "life-threatening."

Giants signed RB Charles Scott, CB Woodny Turenne, C Jim Cordle, LB Kenny Ingram, WR Samuel Giguere, and DT Dwayne Hendricks to reserve/future contracts.

Scott, a sixth-round pick by Philadelphia, bounced around practice squads this year and was tried at fullback. He'll be very low on the offseason tailback depth chart. All of these players finished 2010 on New York's practice squad.

Giants signed RB/FB Charles Scott to their practice squad.

Scott has gone from an interesting deep Dynasty flier to waiver-wire fodder quite quickly. Dumped by the Eagles and Cardinals already, the former LSU standout has a lot to prove just to get to the active roster in New York.

Cardinals waived RB/FB Charles Scott, DE Jeremy Clark, DE John Fletcher, OG Jonathan Palmer, and WR Ed Gant.

Gant is suspended for the first four games, but the Cards didn't deem him worth waiting on, opting for Max Komar. Scott flunked out of two camps, also the Eagles. He's not come close to early expectations after a fine LSU career.

Charles Scott, acquired from the Eagles earlier in the week, played Thursday night's game as a running back rather than lead blocker.

We wouldn't read too much into this. The Cardinals were essentially down to Scott and Alfonso Smith as runners after minor injuries to Beanie Wells, Jason Wright, and LaRod Stephens-Howling. Scott will have to prove his mettle as a fullback if he's going to make this team.

Cardinals acquired RB/FB Charles Scott from the Eagles in exchange for fellow rookie CB Jorrick Calvin.

Scott started out strong in spring practices, but he quickly fell out of favor in training camp. The Eagles had moved him to fullback, and he only carried the ball one time in three exhibition games. The Cardinals recently lost Nehemiah Broughton to an ACL injury, which suggests Scott is headed for a lead-blocking role in Arizona. His Dynasty league value has taken a major blow.

Beat writer Jeff McLane confirms that sixth-round rookie RB Charles Scott has not stood out at all during camp.

This confirms earlier predictions that Scott is unlikely to make the final roster. McLane even speculates that the Eagles may choose to keep CFL stud Martell Mallett on the practice squad over Scott.

Beat writer Geoff Mosher predicts that rookie RB Charles Scott will not make the Eagles' 53-man roster.

Scott allegedly "blew an opportunity" to climb as high as No. 2 on the depth chart by "drop(ping) too many passes" and failing to "make standout plays." We thought the Eagles listing Scott as a reserve fullback was an ominous sign, and it appears to be so. He does have three preseason games left.

Eagles rookie Charles Scott is listed as a second-team fullback on the team's initial preseason depth chart.

Scott is taking some reps at fullback, but his primary position in camp has been tailback. He may have been listed behind FB Leonard Weaver just so the Eagles could get their bevy of low-end tailbacks on the depth chart without classifying any one as sixth string. Scott isn't going to be a lead blocker.

Rookie RB Charles Scott is "way ahead of the curve, mentally," according to offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg.

"He's big, physical, tough, real smart," Mornhinweg said. "He has some of the halfback skills and then he's got a fullback type of build ... He can play both, I think, and we'll see as we go, at a high level." As a bigger back with quick feet, Scott has Dynasty upside as the long-term complement to Shady McCoy.

Rookie RB Charles Scott appeared to "bump ahead" of Eldra Buckley for the No. 3 job in spring practices.

Scott is expected to enter training camp behind only LeSean McCoy and Mike Bell, but he's not getting enough love in Dynasty leagues. Bell is on a one-year contract, and Scott scored 18 TDs as a junior at LSU. Barring injury, he's the long-term big-back complement to McCoy.
