Seahawks re-signed OLB/DE O'Brien Schofield to a one-year contract.

Schofield, 27, finished the 2013 season with eight tackles and a sack, seeing action at both defensive end positions and some strong-side linebacker in a deep sub-package role. He'll battle for a roster spot in Seahawks training camp.

Free agent OLB O'Brien Schofield worked out for the Titans on Wednesday.

Schofield inked a two-year, $8 million deal with the Giants on the opening day of free agency but had the agreement nixed after he failed his physical. He reportedly passed his Tennessee physical Wednesday. Schofield was drafted by new Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt and the Cardinals in 2010.

A source tells NJ.com that the deal between free agent OLB O'Brien Schofield and the Giants is now "dead."

The Giants put Schofield through a physical and found a problem with his knee. It's likely related to his 2010 ACL tear sustained during the Senior Bowl. Schofield agreed to terms on a two-year, $8 million deal Tuesday, but we're re-marking him as a free agent for now. Perhaps the two sides will be able to agree on a less lucrative deal that protects the Giants against injury.

The deal between free agent OLB O'Brien Schofield and the Giants is on hold due to medical concerns.

After putting Schofield through a physical, the Giants have questions about his knee. He tore his ACL at the Senior Bowl in 2010.

Giants agreed to terms with DE/OLB O'Brien Schofield, formerly of the Seahawks, on a two-year, $8 million contract.

Schofield played outside linebacker in Arizona and Seattle during his first four seasons, but will likely play with his hand in the dirt in New York. He has 11.5 career sacks across 40 games. Schofield will also contribute on special teams.

After claiming him off waivers from the Cardinals, the Seahawks renegotiated OLB/DE O'Brien Schofield's contract.

Schofield was owed a $1.323 million salary, but the two sides agreed to knock it down to the four-year veteran's minimum of $630,000. LBs coach Ken Norton has been impressed with Schofield in the five days he's been with the team, and the lower salary gives him a better chance at a roster spot.

Seahawks claimed OLB/DE O'Brien Schofield off waivers from the Cardinals.

Arizona cut ties with Schofield after signing John Abraham. It's a nice landing spot for the 26-year-old pass rusher. Fellow edge player Chris Clemons is coming off a torn ACL, and Bruce Irvin will serve a four-game suspension. Schofield has just 10.5 sacks in his three-year career, but was highly regarded coming out of Wisconsin. He'll try to earn a backup "Leo" role behind Cliff Avril.

Cardinals waived OLB O'Brien Schofield.

Schofield, a fourth-round pick out of Wisconsin in 2010, never seemed to be in the plans of the new Arizona regime. Frankly, he hasn't been that good in his three NFL seasons. A nine-game starter last year before a season-ending ankle injury, Schofield registered just four sacks and has 10.5 in his career. The Cardinals' signing of John Abraham was the final nail in the coffin. Schofield is only 26 and was highly regarded coming out of college, so we wouldn't be surprised if he generated some interest on waivers.

The Cardinals' official website made no mention of OLB O'Brien Schofield when dissecting the team's pass rush.

Beat writer Darren Urban talked briefly about Sam Acho, Matt Shaughnessy, and Lorenzo Alexander, as well as rookie Alex Okafor, but Schofield's name was nowhere to be seen. It's expected that Alexander will start opposite Acho, and it appears Schofield has fallen behind the other two. Schofield carries a $1.323 million salary and may be on the outside looking in.

The Cardinals' website anticipates OLB O'Brien Schofield losing his starting job to Lorenzo Alexander.

Alexander is a career special teamer, but the Cards are giving him a chance to earn a big role on defense. A major 2012 disappointment, Schofield managed four sacks across nine starts before year-ending ankle surgery in November. Pro Football Focus graded him poorly as both a pass rusher and run defender.

Cardinals OLB O'Brien Schofield's 2013 salary jumped from $575,000 to $1.323 million based on rookie-deal incentives.

Schofield started nine games in 2012 and recorded four sacks before he was lost for the season with torn ligaments in his ankle. Schofield and fellow OLB Sam Acho have underwhelmed over the last couple seasons, and their future roles remain unclear with Todd Bowles now in the fold as defensive coordinator.

Cardinals OLB O'Brien Schofield will undergo surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left ankle.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt confirmed that he's out for the season. Schofield will be placed on injured reserve with one more season left on his rookie contract. He's still likely to return as the bookend starter opposite Sam Acho next season. Quentin Groves will fill in for the final two months.

Cardinals OLB O'Brien Schofield (ankle) is out for the remainder of the season.

Schofield was injured in Sunday's loss to the Packers. Coach Ken Whisenhunt confirmed Tuesday that he will undergo surgery to repair a ligament tear. The 25-year-old recorded 34 tackles and four sacks in his first season as a starter. Quentin Groves will likely take over as the left outside linebacker.

Cardinals OLB O'Brien Schofield is undergoing an MRI on his ankle.

That, of course, suggests Schofield could be dealing with a high-ankle sprain, but official word may not come until Tuesday or Wednesday. A full-time starter for the first time in his career, Schofield has four sacks in nine games, but has graded out as one Pro Football Focus' poorer 3-4 outside linebackers.
