The Bears worked out free agents OLB Sergio Kindle and CB Brandon Hogan on Tuesday.

Kindle has garnered interest around the league with teams adding players on reserve/future contracts. He worked out for the Giants last week, and should latch on somewhere this offseason. Hogan was the No. 98 overall pick in the 2011 draft by the Panthers. He was released from injured reserve in October.

The Giants worked out free agents OLB Sergio Kindle and WR Patrick Turner on Thursday.

Kindle has appeared in three career NFL games since being the No. 43 overall pick in 2010 out of Texas. Shortly after the draft, Kindle fell down two flights of stairs and fractured his skull, and his career never took off. He was released from the Ravens' practice squad earlier this month but should be able to latch on with a team this spring.

Ravens released OLB Sergio Kindle from their practice squad.

Kindle, the 43rd overall pick in the 2010 draft, is shaping up as a bust. The fact that the Ravens didn't even see fit to keep him on the practice squad is confirmation he's not part of GM Ozzie Newsome's long-term plans.

Ravens re-signed LB Sergio Kindle to their practice squad.

It's telling that he passed through waivers, meaning the entire league found him unworthy of a claim. Kindle is still only 25 years old, but he's shown nothing on the field since Ozzie Newsome made him the 43rd pick in the 2010 draft.

Ravens waived OLB Sergio Kindle.

Kindle, a 2010 second-round pick out of Texas, was cut in order to make room on the active roster for Terrell Suggs. His career went downhill fast after he fell down two flights of stairs in July 2010 and fractured his skull. Kindle should be able to find work elsewhere. He's appeared in just three career games.

Ravens declared OLB Sergio Kindle, OL Jah Reid, WR LaQuan Williams, TE Billy Bajema, DLs Bryan Hall and DeAngelo Tyson, and DB Asa Jackson inactive for Week 4 against the Browns.

Kindle, a 2010 second-round pick, is a healthy inactive. Reid is out with a calf injury. Baltimore is one of the healthiest teams in the league.

Ravens OLB Sergio Kindle says hearing is still a struggle since his 2010 skull fracture, but he's otherwise fully recovered.

"The hearing hasn't changed but I'm more acclimated to everything now," he said. "I was good all of last year, but I had to take precaution coming in. This year, I got my guns blazing. It's no holds barred." Kindle was inactive all last year. He'll have to do something special in training camp to make the Ravens' roster.

Player personnel director Eric DeCosta indicated that 2012 would be former second-round pick Sergio Kindle's make-or-break year in Baltimore.

"This is his year," DeCosta said. "He has to show us that he can do it this year." Opportunity is no longer an obstacle with RE/OLB Terrell Suggs likely to miss the season. Kindle will still have to win a roster spot, though.

The Baltimore Sun expects OLB Sergio Kindle to be on the roster bubble during training camp.

The same is true of KR David Reed, who lost his return job last season before tearing his ACL in Week 16. Coach John Harbaugh indicated in December that Kindle was making nice progress, but he still appeared in only two games after missing his entire rookie year with a fractured skull. Even if Kindle survives final cuts, 2012 will be a make-or-break year for the former second-round pick.

Ravens re-signed exclusive rights free agents OLB Sergio Kindle, G/C Justin Boren, LB Josh Bynes, LS Morgan Cox and CB Danny Gorrer to one-year contracts.

A 2010 second-round pick, Kindle missed his entire rookie season with a fractured skull, and was active just twice in 2011. If he's able to crack the roster, he'll be utilized as a special teamer and reserve pass rusher.

Ravens OLB Sergio Kindle is expected to go to 2012 training camp with the team, but will be on the roster bubble.

He won't be an option to replace free agent SLB Jarret Johnson. Kindle made it onto the field for just two appearances in 2011 and did not register so much as a special teams tackle. He was a healthy scratch for both playoff games.

Coach John Harbaugh indicated that OLB Sergio Kindle is ready to take on a bigger role after being active in Week 14 for just the second time all season.

"He just has a better understanding now," Harbaugh said of the 2010 second-rounder. "He's made a lot of progress, and we think he's ready to play more and more." Kindle only played defense in garbage time last week. He's likely to see most of his time on special teams.

Ravens OLB Sergio Kindle was active for the first time in Week 4.

Kindle finished without a tackle as a special teamer and reserve pass-rusher. "He had a couple of plays at the end and really brought it in the pass rush," said coach John Harbaugh. "So, that's a good first step for him to get his feet wet, and it will be fun to see how he can respond to that."

Ravens OLB Sergio Kindle has been deactivated for the first three games of the season.

Coach John Harbaugh didn't mince words, simply saying that Kindle isn't better than the players that are active on gamedays. The No. 43 overall pick in the 2010 draft is still finding his way after missing all of last season due to a fractured skull.
