Raiders WR Jacoby Ford (Lisfranc surgery) says his foot is 100 percent healed.
Ford suffered Lisfranc injuries in each of the past two seasons, but finally appears to be 100 percent. The explosive receiver has a career 17.0 YPR average, and anticipates being used on returns this season in addition to being one of the team's top pass catchers. Entering the final year of his rookie contract, it will be important for Ford to show he can remain healthy. Apr 18 - 3:52 PM

Raiders WR Jacoby Ford was arrested for DUI last month, but the Oakland district attorney has declined to charge him.

Ford was pulled over on March 14 for too-dark window tints and driving 75MPH in a 55MPH zone. Police "noticed the smell of alcohol coming from his car and his breath" when Ford opened his window. The Oakland D.A. provided no reason for dropping the charge other than to confirm it publicly. Ford, 26 in July, is entering the final year of his rookie contract. He missed all of 2012 with a Lisfranc fracture in his left foot. Ford also missed eight games in 2011.

Raiders WR Jacoby Ford (Lisfranc surgery) has resumed running routes.

"It's not quite 100 percent, but it's coming along really well," Ford said. "I am back to running routes and feel pretty good about my straight-ahead full speed. And I have been cutting on it." Ford "definitely" expects to be 100 percent for camp.
Mar 8 - 10:48 AM

Raiders WR Jacoby Ford's 2013 salary jumped from $575,000 to $1.323 million based on rookie-deal incentives.

Ford missed the entire 2012 season after suffering a Lisfranc injury for the second season in a row. He's appeared in just 24 of a possible 48 games since being a fourth-round pick in 2010. However, when healthy, Ford is a terrific deep threat, as he's shown with his career 17.0 YPC average. Entering the final year of his contract, Ford is expected to be ready for training camp, but Lisfranc injuries can be tricky.

Raiders WR Jacoby Ford (Lisfranc surgery) is out of his walking boot and ready to ramp up his rehab program.

Ford is out for the season after suffering a Lisfranc injury for the second year in a row. While he should be ready for training camp, there's no guarantee that his pre-surgery explosiveness will return by the beginning of next season.

Raiders placed WR/KR Jacoby Ford (foot) on season-ending injured reserve.

Ford underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair a Lisfranc injury to his left foot, and head coach Dennis Allen hinted that Ford's season could be over on Thursday. This move was fully expected after hearing the dreaded "Lisfranc" come up. Ford suffered the exact same injury in the 2011 season and it's turning out to be a major issue for his development. Rookie Rod Streater will continue to have a large role in Oakland's offense in 2012.

Coach Dennis Allen conceded Thursday that there is a "strong possibility" WR/KR Jacoby Ford (Lisfranc surgery) will be placed on injured reserve.

Any time a sub-package player is scheduled to miss more than a month, he becomes a candidate for injured reserve. We fully expect Ford to end up on the list. The question is whether he will be "designated for return," in which case he could return after six weeks.

Raiders WR/KR Jacoby Ford underwent surgery to repair a Lisfranc injury to his left foot Wednesday.

According to beat writer Vittorio Tafur, it's the same injury Ford suffered last season. It was known Ford had a left foot injury, but the Raiders never announced it was of the dreaded Lisfranc variety. Darren McFadden never returned after suffering a Lisfranc sprain in early October last season, while Matt Schaub was knocked out for the year after suffering a similar injury in November. If Ford returns in 2012, it likely won't be until late November or early December.

Raiders WR/KR Jacoby Ford will undergo surgery to repair his injured foot.

Coach Dennis Allen expects Ford to miss a "significant" amount of time. We first became concerned for Ford's early-season availability when he acknowledged that the injury is essentially a repeat of the one that sidelined him for six games at mid-season a year ago. Rookie Rod Streater will continue to have a major role in the passing attack after playing five snaps more than Darrius Heyward-Bey in the opener.

Jacoby Ford (foot) has been ruled out for Week 1.

With Ford not ready to return from injury, rookie receiver Rod Streater is poised for a big role on Monday night against the Chargers, either manning the slot or playing outside. The Raiders are erring on the side of caution with Ford, although it's concerning that he hasn't even resumed sprinting.

Raiders WR/KR Jacoby Ford (foot) conceded Tuesday that his status is "up in the air" for the season opener.

It's not looking good. Ford just resumed jogging on Tuesday after confirming that this injury is to the same spot as the one that sidelined him late last season. The Raiders are expected to continue a cautious approach toward his return. Rod Streater is a good bet to play the slot if Denarius Moore (hamstring) is well enough to start.

Raiders WR/KR Jacoby Ford (foot) still has not been cleared to resume running.

Denarius Moore (hamstring) has run on back-to-back days and is far ahead of Ford at this point. Ford may be in danger of losing his spot to Rod Streater. If you drafted Ford in your fantasy league, it's probably safe to cut bait.

Raiders WR/KR Jacoby Ford (foot) has shed his walking boot.

The Raiders are hoping to have Ford available for Week 1, and this is a step in the right direction. With Rod Streater pushing for snaps, however, Ford is undraftable outside of return-yardage leagues.
Mon, Aug 27, 2012 02:59:00 PM

Coach Dennis Allen referred to Jacoby Ford's foot injury as a "matter of pain."

That's usually what coaches say when they aren't happy with a player missing practice time. Ford is in a walking boot, but doesn't have any structural damage or swelling. Allen does not know if Ford will be ready for Week 1.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen said Sunday that Jacoby Ford's sprained foot has no structural damage and no swelling.

Although it's to the same foot that Ford sprained last season, costing him eight games, all signs point to a less severe injury this time around. Allen still wouldn't rule out the possibility of Ford missing some regular season action.
