Falcons TE Tony Moeaki will enter training camp healthy.
It's more surprising when Moeaki is actually intact than when he's sidelined. The talented athlete has dealt with elbow, hand, leg, concussion, ACL, shoulder and hamstring issues in his career, resulting in him bouncing around the fringe of rosters. Still only 28, Moeaki will try to stay healthy and beat out favorite Jacob Tamme for pass-catching tight end duties in August. Jun 25 - 9:32 AM

Falcons signed TE Tony Moeaki, formerly of the Seahawks, to a one-year contract.

Moeaki ended 2014 with the Seahawks, catching eight passes in six games while battling calf and shoulder ailments. He missed the Bills' entire preseason with a hamstring issue. Moeaki can block and has always had loads of pass-catching talent, but has struggled with durability as much as anyone in the league. He's reuniting with ex-Seahawks DC Dan Quinn in Atlanta. Moeaki will have to have a healthy camp to ensure a spot on the Falcons' 53-man roster.
Mar 19 - 3:15 PM

Seahawks TE Tony Moeaki was held catch-less in Super Bowl XLIX.

The Seahawks used frequent three- and four-wide formations in this one instead of two-tight end sets. Behind Luke Willson on the depth chart, Moeaki barely played. A journeyman at this point in his career, Moeaki is still only 27, but has had problems staying healthy since college. He finished the 2014 regular season with an 8-134-1 receiving line, playing in six games for Seattle and starting two. Moeaki will become a free agent in March.

Tony Moeaki (calf) is listed as probable for Sunday's NFC Championship Game.

Moeaki practiced in full throughout the week after sitting out the Divisional Round. He'll return as the No. 2 tight end behind Luke Willson.

Tony Moeaki (calf) is practicing in full this week.

Moeaki is on track to play in Sunday's NFC Championship after missing the Divisional Round. He should return as the No. 2 tight end behind Luke Willson.
Jan 14 - 7:30 PM

Tony Moeaki (calf) is listed as questionable for the Divisional Round.

Moeaki didn't practice all week and is a game-time decision. Cooper Helfet will back up Luke Willson if Moeaki is held out.
Jan 9 - 7:30 PM

Seahawks TE Tony Moeaki is a game-time decision for the Divisional Round with a calf injury.

It's not newsworthy in and of itself — Moeaki's presence isn't going to affect the Seahawks' odds of beating the Panthers either way — but is further proof of his astonishing inability to stay healthy. Frail throughout his Chiefs tenure, Moeaki has now battled calf and shoulder issues since joining Seattle in early November. Moeaki is still only 28 (in June), and has an alluring raw skill-set, but his health is running him out of the league.
Jan 8 - 6:08 PM

Tony Moeaki (shoulder) is listed as probable for Week 17 against the Rams.

Moeaki will return as the No. 2 tight end behind Luke Willson. Cooper Helfet (ribs) is listed as questionable.

Seahawks TEs Tony Moeaki (shoulder) and Cooper Helfet (ankle) have resumed practicing.

Moeaki likely would have been headed to injured reserve were he not ready to practice this week for the playoff-bound Seahawks. With Moeaki and Helfet both sidelined in Week 16, starter Luke Willson went off against the Cardinals.

Tony Moeaki (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday night's Week 16 game against the Cardinals.

Moeaki was a long shot to play after not practicing all week. Luke Willson will start, with Cooper Helfet playing in two-tight end sets. Also inactive for Seattle are WR Chris Matthews, C Max Unger, DT Travian Robertson, LT Russell Okung, WR Kevin Norwood, and DE Demarcus Dobbs.

Seahawks TE Tony Moeaki (shoulder) has yet to resume practicing.

The oft-injured tight end is looking like he's going to miss Week 16. Unless the Seahawks are 100 percent confident it's a day-to-day injury, Moeaki will be a strong candidate for injured reserve.
Thu, Dec 18, 2014 07:40:00 PM

Tony Moeaki was held without a catch on two targets in the Seahawks' Week 15 win over the 49ers, and left early with a shoulder injury.

Egads. No ailment is good news for a player with Moeaki's injury history, but it was a shoulder issue that ended his time in Kansas City. Anything more than a day-to-day outlook would likely send Moeaki to injured reserve.

Tony Moeaki caught 1-of-3 targets for 15 yards in Seattle's Week 14 win over the Eagles.

Moeaki drew more looks than Luke Willson, but continued to provide no reason to believe he'll become a fantasy asset down the stretch.
Sun, Dec 7, 2014 08:17:00 PM

Tony Moeaki caught 1-of-2 targets for 63 yards Week 13 against the 49ers.

The long gain had much more to do with Russell Wilson than Moeaki. Wilson escaped immediate pressure and then eluded several other defenders before finding a wide-open Moeaki on the sideline. Moeaki "raced" down the sideline before being caught at the one. Wilson has been looking Moeaki's was a fair amount since he signed with the team, but he is not even close to the redraft radar.
