The New Orleans Times-Picayune suggests Saints RCB Patrick Robinson has the "potential to be a standout" entering his second year as a starter.
Robinson got picked on early last season, but by the end of the year was arguably outplaying LCB Jabari Greer. Robinson also made Tracy Porter expendable after leading the Saints with four interceptions and finishing second to Greer with 15 pass breakups. He'll continue to start at right corner in 2012. The Saints are reportedly ''very comfortable'' with CB Patrick Robinson becoming a full-time starter next season.

A first-round pick in 2010, Robinson appeared in 15 games, recording 47 tackles and four interceptions. Considered the in-house favorite to replace free agent Tracy Porter, Robinson's production surpassed Porter's in nearly every defensive category last season.

Saints nickel back Patrick Robinson is expected to take on an increased role this season.

The Saints' secondary is coming back mostly intact and strong. With Jabari Greer, Tracy Porter and Robinson at the corner position, this figures to be a difficult defense to throw on again. They were the No. 4 pass defense in the NFL last year in terms of yards allowed per game.

Saints CB Patrick Robinson (ankle) is expected to be a game-time decision Sunday in Week 11.

Beat writer Jeff Duncan says his gut feeling is Robinson won't play. Jabari Greer and Tracy Porter would handle cornerback duties.

Although CB Patrick Robinson deemed his ankle injury minor in nature, the New Orleans Times-Picayune calls it a "high ankle sprain."

The rookie won't play this week at Carolina, but the Saints expect to have starters Jabari Greer and Tracy Porter back in action. The team has newfound depth with Leigh Torrance and Malcolm Jenkins playing well at corner.

Saints CB Patrick Robinson said the ankle injury he suffered in Week 8 is minor.

It can't be that minor, as Robinson was injured early in the game and didn't return. Nevertheless, it sounds like he'll be ready to suit up for Week 9.

Saints CB Patrick Robinson limped off early in the first quarter Sunday night with an ankle injury.

He got the ankle taped up on the sidelines and was on the stationary bike before being taken to the locker room for tests. Robinson is considered questionable to return. The Saints are hoping he'll be able to tough it out given that Tracy Porter and Jabari Greer are inactive for the game. Leigh Torrence replaced Robinson.

Saints CB Patrick Robinson is expected to draw the start across from LCB Jabari Greer in Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the Buccaneers.

The Saints will lean heavily on Robinson with starter Tracy Porter (knee) and Randall Gay (concussion) both sidelined. The rookie first-rounder started the season in defensive coordinator Gregg Williams' doghouse, but will have a chance to impress the coaching staff.

Saints CB Patrick Robinson was shaken up with an apparent head injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game at Arizona.

The rookie made a nice play to trip up Beanie Wells inside the 5-yard line, but he took a knee to the back of the head on the play. Robinson returned to the game on the next series.

Saints declared CB Patrick Robinson, RB Chris Ivory, WR Adrian Arrington, TE Tory Humphrey, OL Zach Streif, DE Junior Galette, LB Anthony Waters, and S Chris Reis inactive for Monday's game against San Francisco.

Ivory, Streif, and Waters are all inactive due to injuries. Jon Stinchcomb and Jonathan Vilma were both listed as probable and will play. The rookie Robinson is a healthy scratch, and it's clear he hasn't broken out of defensive coordinator Gregg Williams' doghouse. Randall Gay will handle nickel duties until Robinson can take the job from him.

Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has made first-round CB Patrick Robinson his "whipping boy" in training camp.

"Patrick has a lot of skill but right now he doesn't know how to play," Williams said. "Right now I don't have any trust in him. He has to take the next step up in pro football." Robinson is taking the heat for the Saints' failure to stop Julian Edelman Thursday night. Veteran Randall Gay will likely handle nickel duties to open the season.

Saints agreed to terms with No. 32 overall pick CB Patrick Robinson on a five-year contract.

Robinson was the Saints' fall-back plan when the Colts nabbed pass rusher Jerry Hughes with the 31st pick in the draft. The ultra-athletic Florida State corner was impressive in OTAs, though, and he's slated to open training camp in a battle with veteran Randall Gay for nickel-back duties.

Saints rookie CB Patrick Robinson is running exclusively with the second unit at offseason workouts.

Robinson won't beat out Jabari Greer or Tracy Porter, but has still reportedly been impressive so far. With Malcolm Jenkins moving to safety, Robinson is just battling Randall Gay for third corner duties.

It "would be an upset" if CB Patrick Robinson or DT Al Woods crack the Saints' starting lineup this season, according to Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

The Saints wanted to take DE Jerry Hughes with the No. 32 overall pick, but were forced to go with Robinson when Hughes went 31st. Woods is a project and Robinson will have to prove he's more consistent than his tape at Florida State showed.

Saints selected Florida State CB Patrick Robinson with the No. 32 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Inconsistent and short on ball skills, Robinson managed just a single pick in his final two seasons after intercepting six passes as a sophomore. He is versed and highly experienced in press coverage, though, and Robinson's feet are regarded as the quickest of any corner in the draft. The selection indicates that 2009 first-round pick Malcolm Jenkins will move to free safety this offseason, assuming free agent Darren Sharper isn't re-signed.
