Giants OG John Jerry (knee) "should be ready for the start of training camp."
Jerry hasn't practiced since his offseason knee scope, sitting out OTAs and minicamp. He expects to be full-go for the start of training camp Monday, though "nobody outside of the organization has seen [Jerry]" to this point. With Chris Snee's (hip, elbow surgeries) health status up in the air, Jerry and Brandon Mosley will be competing for the Giants' starting right guard spot. Jul 18 - 5:18 PM

The Giants want John Jerry to push Chris Snee and Brandon Mosley for the starting right guard job.

Snee underwent offseason hip and elbow surgeries and still needs to add weight. Mosley took some first-team reps this spring. Jerry sat out OTAs and minicamp after having his knee scoped, but will be ready for training camp. Jerry is a strong pass blocker but is a slow mover in the run game. The Giants have some movable parts up front. A healthy Snee would likely be their best option.
Jul 2 - 6:59 PM

Giants OG John Jerry will be sidelined until training camp after having his knee scoped this offseason.

It's a 4-6 week recovery. Jerry signed with the Giants after the Dolphins showed zero interest in re-signing him following his role in Bullygate. Jerry could compete with Chris Snee for the right-guard job in New York, but there are a lot of moving parts on the Giants' line. Jerry doesn't have the versatility some others do.
May 29 - 12:42 PM

The Giants are not expecting ex-Dolphins G John Jerry to be suspended for his role in Bullygate.

Jerry was named in Ted Wells report as someone that "engaged in a pattern of harassment" toward Jonathan Martin. The Giants seem to have gotten assurances from the league office that there won't be any discipline. "There is no suspension in the air or anything of that nature," coach Tom Coughlin said. "Whatever part he played in it, there was remorse, sincere remorse."

Giants RG John Jerry's one-year deal is worth $770,000.

The deal includes a $25,000 signing bonus, but no other guaranteed money. Jerry, 27, will compete for a starting job with Chris Snee in training camp.
Mar 21 - 8:02 PM

Giants signed OG John Jerry, formerly of the Dolphins.

Jerry, 28 in June, received positive 2013 pass-blocking grades from Pro Football Focus, but was pushed around in the running game with the rest of Miami's porous offensive line. He started every game at right guard. The G-Men are overhauling their front five. 335-pound Jerry projects as potential competition for holdover RG Chris Snee, who took a massive pay cut to return.
Mar 21 - 4:05 PM

Free agent RG John Jerry is expected to have an extremely cold market.

Some around the league reportedly believe Jerry will have a tougher time finding his next contract than fellow free agent LG Richie Incognito. Jerry was part of the trio in Miami, along with Incognito and C Mike Pouncey, that harassed Jonathan Martin and other Dolphins. Jerry also happens to be a below-average guard and struggles to maintain his weight. He may be out of the league in 2014.
Feb 17 - 9:20 AM

Dolphins RG John Jerry (knee) returned to practice Tuesday.

Jerry missed 23 days. He's competing with Lance Louis at right guard, and the two rotated snaps Tuesday. Per reporter Armando Salguero, Jerry still appeared to be favoring his left knee. With Louis (ACL) getting healthier, he's likely the favorite for the job.

Dolphins RG John Jerry (knee) is expected to return to practice next week.

Jerry missed over two weeks after suffering a knee injury early in camp. He'll immediately replace UDFA Josh Samuda as the starting right guard, but could eventually face competition from Lance Louis (ACL surgery) for playing time.

Dolphins RG John Jerry's knee injury is expected to sideline him 2-4 weeks.

It's believed Jerry may have already undergone surgery. If Lance Louis (ACL surgery) were healthy enough to practice, this would be his opportunity to run with the right guard job. Instead, the Dolphins are experimenting with UDFA Josh Samuda at center and Mike Pouncey at right guard. With LT Jonathan Martin still struggling, Miami's biggest 2013 concern remains offensive line performance.

Dolphins RG John Jerry is battling a knee injury that may require surgery.

Jerry suffered the injury last week and has been on crutches. The Dolphins are hoping his knee responds to treatment, but surgery is an option. Miami has been experimenting with Josh Samuda at center and Mike Pouncey at right guard. Rookie Dallas Thomas will also see more reps while Jerry's out.

The Palm Beach Post reports Dolphins RG John Jerry reported to voluntary workouts "looking really good, almost where he needs to be" with his weight.

"Apparently the light has come on," were the words of a source. It might still be too little, too late for the long out-of-shape guard after the Dolphins signed Lance Louis. Reporter Ben Volin believes Jerry's roster spot is "very much in danger." Jerry is a trade candidate heading into the final year of his rookie contract. He played more offensive snaps than any Dolphin in 2012.

The Dolphins have warned RG John Jerry not to report to OTAs out of shape.

"It’ll be interesting to see," coach Joe Philbin said. "The big thing we said to him when he left is we want to see how much you weigh when you come back for the offseason program." Jerry reported to 2012 training camp at nearly 400 pounds, and has always struggled with conditioning. The Dolphins ratcheted up the pressure on Jerry by signing veteran Lance Louis. Jerry could lose his starting job even if he's lost the pounds.

Dolphins RG John Jerry's base salary will be up from $575,000 to $1.323 million in 2013 after he hit escalators in his rookie contract.

Jerry started all 16 games this past season after entering training camp squarely on the roster bubble. He reported to training camp ballooned up to 360 pounds, and OC Mike Sherman famously laid into him and called Jerry "a player descending fast." Jerry answered the bell, though, and GM Jeff Ireland recently said Jerry has "a big arrow up on his future" as he enters the final year of his contract.

Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland said RG John Jerry has "a big arrow up on his future."

We haven't had a blurb on Jerry since he was picked apart in training camp on Hard Knocks, but he started all 16 games in 2012. Jerry's problem has always been weight, so as long as he can return to camp in shape for 2013, he should remain a solid starter. Jerry is entering the final year of his rookie deal, and the Palm Beach Post considers him an extension candidate.
