Giants re-signed RG John Jerry to a three-year, $10 million contract.
The deal includes $4.25 million guaranteed. The money doesn't quite lock Jerry back into his starting job, but does for all intents and purposes. Jerry's return renders D.J. Fluker a depth signing. Mon, Mar 13, 2017 03:39:00 PM

Giants RG John Jerry and C Weston Richburg spent six weeks working out at ex-NFL C LeCharles Bentley's offensive line training center in Arizona this offseason.

Bentley initially reached out to Richburg, but Richburg then vouched hard for Jerry to join him at the invite-only academy in Scottsdale. Jerry described it as a "career-changing" offseason where he focused on lining up in a three-point stance and working on pass- and run-blocking sets. The veteran of the Giants' line, Jerry was PFF's 80th-ranked run-blocking guard in 2015.

Giants re-signed G John Jerry.

Jerry started all 16 games for the Giants at right guard last season. With Geoff Schwartz healthy, Jerry will compete for a starting spot at left guard, though he is a better fit as a reserve lineman. The Giants' best option remains acquiring a starting right tackle and shifting Justin Pugh inside.

Free agent OG John Jerry is visiting the Titans on Friday.

Jerry, 29 in June, started all 16 games for the Giants at right guard last season, but was destroyed as a run blocker. Despite weight concerns, he hasn't missed a start in three years. Jerry can also play some right tackle.

John Jerry is expected to fill in as the Giants' starting left guard while Geoff Schwartz (toe) is out.

Most expected rookie Weston Richburg to take over for Schwartz, but he could end up being the Giants' center or right guard with C J.D. Walton struggling badly this preseason and RG Brandon Mosley injured. Jerry played 56 snaps in the preseason finale. He also hasn't been good this summer, but has plenty of starting experience. The G-Men are going to have trouble up front.

Commissioner Roger Goodell did not rule out a suspension for Giants OG John Jerry for his role in the Dolphins' BullyGate scandal.

To this point, there hasn't been any disciplinary action against the players named in the Ted Wells report. Jerry played a minor role in comparison to Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey, and seems unlikely to be suspended. With Chris Snee retired, Jerry is competing for the Giants' right guard job.

Giants OG John Jerry (knee) "should be ready for the start of training camp."

Jerry hasn't practiced since his offseason knee scope, sitting out OTAs and minicamp. He expects to be full-go for the start of training camp Monday, though "nobody outside of the organization has seen [Jerry]" to this point. With Chris Snee's (hip, elbow surgeries) health status up in the air, Jerry and Brandon Mosley will be competing for the Giants' starting right guard spot.

The Giants want John Jerry to push Chris Snee and Brandon Mosley for the starting right guard job.

Snee underwent offseason hip and elbow surgeries and still needs to add weight. Mosley took some first-team reps this spring. Jerry sat out OTAs and minicamp after having his knee scoped, but will be ready for training camp. Jerry is a strong pass blocker but is a slow mover in the run game. The Giants have some movable parts up front. A healthy Snee would likely be their best option.

Giants OG John Jerry will be sidelined until training camp after having his knee scoped this offseason.

It's a 4-6 week recovery. Jerry signed with the Giants after the Dolphins showed zero interest in re-signing him following his role in Bullygate. Jerry could compete with Chris Snee for the right-guard job in New York, but there are a lot of moving parts on the Giants' line. Jerry doesn't have the versatility some others do.

The Giants are not expecting ex-Dolphins G John Jerry to be suspended for his role in Bullygate.

Jerry was named in Ted Wells report as someone that "engaged in a pattern of harassment" toward Jonathan Martin. The Giants seem to have gotten assurances from the league office that there won't be any discipline. "There is no suspension in the air or anything of that nature," coach Tom Coughlin said. "Whatever part he played in it, there was remorse, sincere remorse."

Giants RG John Jerry's one-year deal is worth $770,000.

The deal includes a $25,000 signing bonus, but no other guaranteed money. Jerry, 27, will compete for a starting job with Chris Snee in training camp.

Giants signed OG John Jerry, formerly of the Dolphins.

Jerry, 28 in June, received positive 2013 pass-blocking grades from Pro Football Focus, but was pushed around in the running game with the rest of Miami's porous offensive line. He started every game at right guard. The G-Men are overhauling their front five. 335-pound Jerry projects as potential competition for holdover RG Chris Snee, who took a massive pay cut to return.

Free agent RG John Jerry is expected to have an extremely cold market.

Some around the league reportedly believe Jerry will have a tougher time finding his next contract than fellow free agent LG Richie Incognito. Jerry was part of the trio in Miami, along with Incognito and C Mike Pouncey, that harassed Jonathan Martin and other Dolphins. Jerry also happens to be a below-average guard and struggles to maintain his weight. He may be out of the league in 2014.

Dolphins RG John Jerry (knee) returned to practice Tuesday.

Jerry missed 23 days. He's competing with Lance Louis at right guard, and the two rotated snaps Tuesday. Per reporter Armando Salguero, Jerry still appeared to be favoring his left knee. With Louis (ACL) getting healthier, he's likely the favorite for the job.

Dolphins RG John Jerry (knee) is expected to return to practice next week.

Jerry missed over two weeks after suffering a knee injury early in camp. He'll immediately replace UDFA Josh Samuda as the starting right guard, but could eventually face competition from Lance Louis (ACL surgery) for playing time.
