Andre Roberts caught four passes for 57 yards and ran one time for 19 yards in Sunday's Week 2 win over the Jaguars.
Roberts' role expanded significantly in this one as DeSean Jackson sprained a shoulder early on and was done for the day. Roberts then played in all formations, lining up in the slot in three-wide sets when Ryan Grant came on. However, the ex-Cardinal only ended up with five targets compared to 11 for Niles Paul and eight for Grant. Even if D-Jax missed time, Roberts will be a WR4 type. Sep 14 - 4:52 PM

Andre Roberts caught one pass for 22 yards in Sunday's Week 1 loss at Houston.

As expected, Roberts was the No. 3 wideout and saw just three targets -- even though Jordan Reed (hamstring) left early on. Pierre Garcon (12 targets) and DeSean Jackson (nine targets) gobbled up all the volume.
Sep 7 - 5:22 PM

Andre Roberts had one catch for six yards in Washington's third preseason game.

Roberts worked exclusively with the first-team offense, ahead of Ryan Grant and Santana Moss. He's locked in as Washington's No. 3 receiver, and is also expected to be their primary punt returner. Roberts isn't on the fantasy radar.
Aug 23 - 11:10 PM

Redskins WR Andre Roberts is working as the returner with both the kick and punt units.

Roberts signed on with the Redskins to be their No. 2 receiver, but he suffered a quick demotion when Washington brought in DeSean Jackson a month later. The silver lining is the reduced offensive role opens up Roberts to help on special teams. Roberts has not been particularly successful as a returner, though, averaging a measly 6.9 yards per punt return and 22.4 yards per kick return. Washington would do well to find a better option.
Jun 15 - 8:19 PM

The Redskins are considering using Andre Roberts on kick returns.

It's not an ideal role for Roberts, who averaged a measly 22.4 yards on kick returns in his first two seasons with the Cardinals. Roberts dropped from the Redskins' No. 2 to No. 3 receiver when Washington signed DeSean Jackson, so the team may now be willing to use him more on special teams. Chris Thompson, Richard Crawford, and Niles Paul are also candidates to contribute in the return game.
Apr 19 - 4:07 PM

Andre Roberts expressed frustration with the Redskins' signing of DeSean Jackson.

Roberts agreed to terms with the Redskins on a four-year, $16 million deal before free agency even opened. He "envisioned being the No. 2 receiver," but now admits he doesn't "know how it's going to work out." New coach Jay Gruden is going to run a pass-happy offense, so Roberts will get his chances out of the slot. But his fantasy appeal is low. Roberts is, at best, the No. 4 option in Washington's pass game behind Pierre Garcon, Jackson, and Jordan Reed.

Redskins agreed to terms with WR Andre Roberts on a four-year, $16 million contract.

Roberts just turned 26 and played his college ball at nearby Citadel. He can play outside and in the slot. Roberts will slide in as the starter opposite Pierre Garcon, ending Santana Moss' run in Washington. The Skins will field an undersized starting wideout tandem in 2014, as Roberts is 5-foot-11 and Garcon is a tick over 6-feet. Roberts could flirt with WR3 fantasy value in D.C., though we wouldn't anticipate consistency. Garcon is a target hog.
Mar 11 - 10:12 AM

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports free agent Andre Roberts is drawing interest from the Redskins and Browns.

Roberts is 26 years old and likely aiming for a starting job after being buried behind Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd, and Rob Housler in Arizona last year. The Browns could smoothly plug him in opposite Josh Gordon, upgrading on Greg Little. The Skins would be an unattractive locale for Roberts' fantasy value.
Mar 11 - 8:16 AM

On NBCSN's Pro Football Talk, free agent WR Andre Roberts said he does not expect to re-sign with the Cardinals.

"I don’t think I’ll be back in Arizona," Roberts said. "I haven’t received any phone calls from Arizona." The writing has been on the wall for quite some time. Roberts wants the pay and playing time of a number two wideout, and Arizona is unwilling to offer either. Roberts is our No. 8 free agent wide receiver.
Mar 4 - 7:22 PM

Free agent WR Andre Roberts said he and the Cardinals haven't engaged in contract talks.

"I'm not sure about the interest of the Cardinals, yet," Roberts said. "They haven't come to me about anything. I am actually expecting them to offer me something." Roberts cited the presence of Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd in Arizona, which obviously means limited balls coming in his direction. Roberts turned 26 last month, is durable, and proved he can play in 2011-2012. He's our No. 8 available free-agent receiver. Roberts can play inside or outside.
Feb 17 - 7:16 PM

Impending free agent Andre Roberts is expected to test the market.

The Cardinals have plenty on their plate already with Larry Fitzgerald's potentially ugly contract situation, Daryl Washington owed a $10 million option bonus and Patrick Peterson needing a long-term deal. Roberts, a No. 3 wideout who lost slot reps to tight end Rob Housler this season, is not a priority. The 26-year-old is our No. 8 free agent wideout available.
Jan 9 - 12:07 PM

Andre Roberts caught three passes for 74 yards with one touchdown in Sunday's Week 17 loss to the 49ers.

Roberts played the No. 3 role in Bruce Arians' offense all year long, but he didn't have nearly as much success as predecessors like Antonio Brown and T.Y. Hilton did. He finishes with just 43 catches for 471 yards and two touchdowns. Roberts is talented enough to be an effective slot man, but the Cardinals may choose to let him walk in free agency. They used Rob Housler as a third receiver this season.

Andre Roberts caught two passes for 25 yards in Sunday's Week 16 win at Seattle.

Roberts saw just two targets as the seldom-used No. 3 wideout. Since catching eight balls in Week 1, he has averaged just 2.2 catches per game.
Sun, Dec 22, 2013 07:47:00 PM

Andre Roberts was limited to two catches for 15 yards in the Cardinals' Week 15 win over Tennessee.

Roberts has been a fantasy non-factor since very early in the season because the Cards have mostly switched from a three-receiver to two-tight end offense. Even with Rob Housler (groin) inactive, Roberts couldn't muster up any serious production against Tennessee. That's not a good sign for his Week 16 fantasy prospects. The Cardinals have a road date with Seattle on deck.

Andre Roberts caught one pass for eight yards in Week 14 versus St. Louis.

Roberts was targeted just twice. He's no higher than the fifth option in the passing game. Roberts is waiver wire fodder for the fantasy playoffs.
