Lions WR Andre Roberts is the "odds-on favorite" for the No. 5 job.
He won the job almost by default after the Lions traded away Jeremy Kerley. A slot receiver in Washington, Roberts has been playing more outside in Detroit, but he may see more slot reps with Kerley out the door. Marvin Jones, Golden Tate, Anquan Boldin, and T.J. Jones are the Lions' top-four receivers. Sep 1 - 12:11 PM

Lions signed WR Andre Roberts, formerly of the Redskins, to a one-year contract.

He previously visited the Bills and Saints. Roberts has been productive on special teams, returning a kick 99 yards for a touchdown against the Panthers last season. Offensively, however, Roberts was a non-factor in Washington last year, catching just 11 passes for 135 yards in nine contests. The 28-year-old gives Detroit some depth behind starters Golden Tate and Marvin Jones.

Free agent WR Andre Roberts left his Bills visit without a contract.

Former Packers and Jets LB Jamari Lattimore was also in town for a visit. The 28-year-old was a non-factor in Washington last year, hauling in just 11 catches for 135 yards over nine games. He could be a useful role player depending on what team he goes to.

Free agent WR Andre Roberts is visiting the Bills on Thursday.

Released by the Redskins on Tuesday, Roberts has wasted no time in his search for a new home. The Bills do not have much of anything behind injured starter Sammy Watkins (foot) and Robert Woods. Roberts would immediately be the favorite for slot duties, and Watkins' injury history means he could find himself playing a big role at some point this year. Despite a disappointing and drop-filled two seasons in Washington, Roberts might land in a nice spot.

Redskins released WR Andre Roberts.

This move has been long rumored, but Roberts' fate was sealed when Washington selected Josh Doctson in the first round. Signed to a four-year, $16 million deal in 2014, Roberts managed just 47 catches in two seasons and lost his job to Jamison Crowder last year. Washington will save at least $3 million against the cap by releasing Roberts, but they could save an additional $1 million by designating him a post-June 1 cut.
May 17 - 8:34 AM

ESPN's John Keim does not believe WR Andre Roberts will remain on the Redskins' roster "for long."

Roberts caught just 11 passes for 135 yards last season. He was already on the bubble before the draft, and the selection of Josh Doctson in the first round all but sealed his fate. The Redskins can save $4 million against the cap by designating him a post-June 1 cut.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden said the team is still assessing where WR Andre Roberts fits.

Roberts is still recovering from a torn meniscus and the Redskins might be waiting until June 1 to release him so they can save an extra $1 million. If Roberts stays, he'll probably settle in as the No. 4 receiver behind DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and Jamison Crowder. "We'll have to wait and see," said Gruden. "You want to keep [Roberts] around but obviously there's only one ball and there's only two or three positions so we have to figure out what we're gonna do with those spots." Roberts reeled in 11 catches for 135 yards in nine games last year.
Mar 25 - 2:00 PM

ESPN Redskins reporter John Keim said WR Andre Roberts (knee) is a potential cap cut.

Signed to a four-year, $16-million contract prior to 2014, Roberts has struggled to make an impact in two seasons with Washington. He caught under 50% of his targets in 2014 and lost his job to rookie Jamison Crowder even before landing on injured reserve with a meniscus issue last season. The Redskins can save $3 million against the cap by releasing Roberts.

Redskins placed WR Andre Roberts (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.

He has a meniscus issue, and will presumably require surgery. Signed to a four-year, $16 million deal by ex-GM Bruce Allen, Roberts did just a little more than nothing in his first two seasons of the contract, catching 47 passes with two touchdowns. He barely got on the field this year. Owed a $4 million base salary in 2016, Roberts will almost certainly be released.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Andre Roberts might be dealing with a meniscus issue.

Gruden acknowledged that surgery is a "possibility" and said the team will make a decision on Roberts soon. Roberts hasn't played since Week 12. Even when healthy he's been a non-factor.

Andre Roberts (ankle) is inactive for Week 10 against the Saints.

Roberts was limited in practice this week and listed as questionable. With DeSean Jackson healthy, he wouldn't have had more than a limited role even if active. The rest of Washington's inactives are QB Robert Griffin, CB Quinton Dunbar, LB Keenan Robinson, DE Frank Kearse, OG Arie Kouandjio, and TE Anthony McCoy.
