Free agent OL Mike Johnson visited with the Dolphins.
Johnson, 28, spent last year on I.R. with a Lisfranc injury. He also missed the entire 2013 season due to lower-leg issues. Johnson wouldn't be more than a veteran flier for Miami. Fri, Apr 24, 2015 07:33:00 PM

Falcons placed OL Mike Johnson on (Lisfranc) injured reserve, ending his season.

The Alabama alum was vying for a reserve offensive line job. Having lost Johnson and Sam Baker for the year, Atlanta's depth is already being tested.

Falcons re-signed OT Mike Johnson to a one-year contract.

Johnson missed all of 2013 with a dislocated left ankle and broken leg. A 2010 third-rounder, Johnson has made one career start. Even with the Falcons' line woes, he should be returning as a reserve.

Free agent RT Mike Johnson and the Falcons are in "active talks" over a new contract.

Johnson looked set to be the starting right tackle in Atlanta in 2013 before dislocating his left ankle and fracturing his fibula early in training camp. 26-year-old Johnson figures to command only one-year offers with little or nothing guaranteed.

The Falcons have expressed interest in re-signing free agent OL Mike Johnson.

Johnson was expected to be Atlanta's starting right tackle in 2013, but dislocated his left ankle and fractured his fibula early in training camp. 26-year-old Johnson figures to command only one-year offers with little or nothing guaranteed.

Falcons placed RT Mike Johnson on injured reserve with a dislocated left ankle and fractured fibula, ending his season.

Johnson suffered the gruesome injury in Tuesday's camp practice. He'll undergo surgery next week. He was the leading candidate to replace Tyson Clabo at right tackle, leaving Lamar Holmes and Ryan Schraeder to compete for the job. Johnson faces a grueling rehab, and he'll be a free agent after the season.

A league source confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter that Falcons RT Mike Johnson's left ankle dislocation and fibula fracture is season ending.

He'll have surgery next week. The injury occurred during Atlanta's intersquad practice with the Bengals, which will be featured on next week's Hard Knocks. Lamar Holmes and UDFA Ryan Schraeder are next up on the Falcons' depth chart at right tackle. The position is up for grabs after Tyson Clabo's release.

Falcons RT Mike Johnson has been diagnosed with a dislocated left ankle and broken fibula, and will undergo surgery next week.

The devastating injury almost certainly knocks Johnson out for the season. It thrusts second-year pro Lamar Holmes into a starting role after he made just one appearance as a third-round rookie. The injury further weakens an already questionable Falcons offensive line. It's quite possible they'll pursue outside help. Jared Gaither and Winston Justice are the "top" free agent tackles.

Falcons RT Mike Johnson was carted off the field with a left leg injury Tuesday, and left the team facility in an ambulance.

We typically wait for more information on training camp injuries, but it's pretty clear this one is serious. It would be a major concern for the Falcons if Johnson was lost for the season, as backup Lamar Holmes made just one appearance as a third-round rookie last season.

Mike Johnson has been working as the first-team right tackle at OTAs.

In the battle to replace Tyson Clabo, Johnson has his nose in front of Lamar Holmes. Perhaps the Falcons prefer the more efficient pass blocker over the heavier, mauling Holmes. The competition will continue into training camp.

Fox Sports South thinks Mike Johnson "could be the favorite" to start at right tackle for the Falcons this season.

This directly contradicts the Falcons' official site, which opined that second-year pro Lamar Holmes is "penciled in" on the right side after Tyson Clabo's release. Johnson and Holmes are different players. Holmes is more of a mauler, while Johnson is lighter on his feet at 304 pounds. Neither will be handed the job.

Falcons placed OG Mike Johnson (foot) on injured reserve, ending his season.

The 2010 third-rounder has been a disappointment through a year and a half, beaten out by Garrett Reynolds for the starting right guard job after training camp. There's no word yet on the nature of Johnson's injury.

Falcons OG Mike Johnson (concussion) returned to practice on Sunday.

Johnson missed a little over a week of action. Johnson's injury appears to have won Garrett Reynolds the Falcons' starting right guard job, but the 2010 third-round pick should provide depth along the offensive line after being active zero times as a rookie last season.

Falcons OG Mike Johnson has been diagnosed with a concussion.

Johnson is competing with Garrett Reynolds to replace Harvey Dahl as the Falcons' starting right guard. This would certainly seem to give Reynolds a leg up.

Falcons rookie OG Mike Johnson's undisclosed injury is believed to be a sprained knee.

He's only expected to miss "a week or so," so it appears an MRI revealed no ligament damage. A third-round pick out of Alabama, Johnson is battling Jose Valdez and Blake Schlueter to be the Falcons' top backup at guard.
