McClendon goes to make room for S Vincent Fuller. He has now been dumped by the Colts and Lions since being picked in the fourth round of the 2010 draft.

Lions claimed C/G Jacques McClendon off waivers from the Colts.

McClendon entered camp penciled in as a starter in Indy, but fell down the depth chart quickly. He'll add depth on a Lions roster that had just Dylan Gandy behind the starters at guard.

The Colts have temporarily moved fourth-round rookie Jacques McClendon from center/guard to blocking tight end.

McClendon will step in for injured tight ends Dallas Clark and Brody Eldridge, and will play primarily in short-yardage and goal-line situations. The 325-pound monster won't be catching passes anytime soon.

The Colts have moved fourth-round rookie Jacques McClendon from guard to center.

McClendon, who's never played center in his life, will learn from Jeff Saturday. At 324 pounds, he's part of the Colts' movement to get bigger on the line.

Colts signed fourth-round OG Jacques McClendon to a multi-year contract.

A surprise pick so early, McClendon wasn't invited to the Senior Bowl or Combine after a nondescript, 26-start career at Tennessee. The Colts, hoping to get bigger along both lines, appear to envision McClendon as a project with mauling upside at 6'3/324. He'll probably be inactive as a rookie.

We researched 13 former Vols extensively while preparing for the draft, and this wasn't one of them. McClendon, a non-Combine invitee, was considered one of the strongest players on Tennessee's roster during his stay in Knoxville, starting for two years at offensive guard. At 6-foot-3 and 324 pounds, McClendon adds girth to a Colts line that could use some.
