Raiders waived CB Walter McFadden.
A fifth-round pick last year, McFadden was active just four times, tallying five tackles and zero interceptions. He has supreme athleticism, but hasn't displayed much else. Chris Johnson should start opposite Stanford Routt at cornerback for the Raiders in Week 1. Sat, Sep 3, 2011 05:01:00 PM

Raiders 2010 fifth-round pick Walter McFadden is expected to get a "significant" chance at playing time following the loss of Nnamdi Asomugha.

We consider Asomugha a "loss" because all signs point to him signing elsewhere. McFadden has an impressive speed-size combo at 6'0/180 with 4.3-4.4 wheels, so he's right down Al Davis' alley. With Stanford Routt locked in as the No. 1 corner, McFadden is setup to battle Jeremy Ware and Chris Johnson.

Raiders CB Walter McFadden aggravated a hamstring strain Sunday and left the game.

McFadden, a fifth-round rookie, was playing in place of Chris Johnson (ankle). If healthy, McFadden wouldn't be a downgrade from Johnson at all.

Raiders fifth-round CB Walter McFadden is having an "excellent" training camp, according to beat writer Jerry McDonald.

We thought that McFadden might end up being a steal for the Raiders and that's exactly what it looks like so far. He's in the mix to be in some nickel and dime packages right away.

Raiders signed fifth-round CB Walter McFadden to a four-year contract, including a signing bonus of roughly $200,000.

Brother of the Steelers' Bryant McFadden, Walter showed elite speed, man-to-man cover ability, and ball skills as a two-year starter at Auburn. A potential draft-day steal, he's expected to push Stanford Routt for nickel duties this year and could unseat starter Chris Johnson down the line.

Raiders selected Auburn CB Walter McFadden with the No. 138 overall pick in the 2010 draft.

A two-year starter at Auburn, McFadden earned All Conference honors as a senior. At just 5'10/175, he'll be easily overmatched against NFL receivers. He does have top end speed and fluid hips, so he's an interesting development project.
