Titans promoted DE Hall Davis from their practice squad.

He was the Rams' fifth-round pick in April. Though highly productive in college and blessed with ideal size (6'6/262), Davis has already been on three teams' rosters. He's a long shot for production in the last three games.

The NFLPA is looking into the uncapped year's "85-percent rule" after trades by the Rams/Redskins and Eagles/Cardinals involved rookies this week.

The rule states that any rookie must be paid 85% of the first-year minimum $310,000 salary if he's released by the team that drafted him. The union believes that the Redskins and Rams attempted to "circumvent" the rule by trading Dennis Morris and Hall Davis only to subsequently release them. The trade involving Charles Scott and Jorrick Calvin is also under suspicion.

Redskins acquired DE Hall Davis from the Rams in exchange for a conditional future draft pick.

Davis was drafted to play defensive end in the Rams' 4-3 this April. The fifth-rounder is a developmental pass-rushing prospect as an outside linebacker in Jim Haslett's 3-4 scheme.

Rams agreed to terms with fifth-round DE Hall Davis on a multi-year contract.

Hall will be a developmental pass-rushing project for Steve Spagnuolo to work with. He had just 7.5 sacks during his entire career at UL-Lafayette but his 6'4/271 frame and 4.86 40-yard dash smells of upside.
