Packers TE Andrew Quarless' 2013 base salary increased from $575,000 to $1.323 million after he hit escalators in his rookie deal.

Quarless missed the entire 2012 season after tearing his ACL and MCL in December of 2011. He showed promise as a blocker in 2011, but he has just 24 career catches for 274 yards and a touchdown. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel recently said Quarless will get a chance to start in 2013, the final year of his contract. That will depend on Jermichael Finley's future in Green Bay.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel says Andrew Quarless will get a chance to battle for the Packers' starting tight end job in 2013.

Beat writer Bob McGinn says Quarless will get a shot whether Jermichael Finley stays or not. Quarless missed the entire 2012 season after tearing his ACL and MCL in December of 2011, but his blocking prowess will keep him around. He hasn't shown much as a receiver in his two seasons, though.

Packers placed TE Andrew Quarless (knee) on season-ending injured reserve.

Quarless was activated from PUP three-and-a-half weeks ago after he tore his ACL and MCL last December, but he never played a snap this year. He recently revealed that he may need arthroscopic surgery after the knee swelled in practices. Quarless will return for the final year of his rookie deal in 2013, though he might miss some offseason work.

Packers activated TE Andrew Quarless (knee) from the PUP list.

Quarless practiced on a limited basis the last three weeks, but likely isn't close to returning. It's possible he wouldn't have been activated if Nick Perry (wrist) hadn't been placed on injured reserve Wednesday. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel expects Quarless to "be a factor" as a run blocker at some point this season.

The Packers confirmed that TE Andrew Quarless (PUP, knee) will not be activated this week.

Quarless is working his way back from reconstructive knee surgery and isn't a lock to return this season. LB Frank Zombo (hamstring) and OT Derek Sherrod (leg) will also remain on the PUP list for Sunday's game.

Packers TE Andrew Quarless (PUP, knee surgery) returned to the practice field this week.

Quarless tore his right ACL and MCL in December of last year. The clock is now ticking on the Packers' three-week window to activate him to the 53-man roster. More of a traditional in-line tight end in Green Bay's offense, Quarless could be an asset behind Jermichael Finley as a blocker in the running game.

Packers placed TE Andrew Quarless (knee) and LB Frank Zombo (hamstring) on reserve/PUP.

Quarless tore both his ACL and MCL in early December last year. It's a tough blow to an intriguing pass-catching prospect as he's in danger of missing the entire year. Tom Crabtree is Jermichael Finley's backup.

Packers TE Andrew Quarless (ACL, MCL surgery) could miss the entire 2012 season.

Quarless will, at a minimum, start the season on the PUP list, but could sit out the entire year after his devastating December 4 injury. The Packers will go forward with Tom Crabtree, D.J. Williams, and Ryan Taylor as the reserves behind Jermichael Finley.

Packers TE Andrew Quarless' right knee was damaged beyond the surgically repaired ACL and MCL last December.

"I know it was the ACL and the MCL, I'm not sure about what else," said Quarless, acknowledging that he's unlikely to be ready for the start of training camp. Although Quarless had worked his way into two- and three-tight end sets prior to the injury, his career outlook is now cloudy.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy acknowledged that TE Andrew Quarless (ACL, MCL surgery) will be "challenged" to be ready for training camp.

Quarless is a candidate to open the season on the PUP list. "Andrew, just from a timetable standpoint, is a question mark," McCarthy admitted. The Packers' top three tight ends to open the year should be Jermichael Finley, Tom Crabtree, and D.J. Williams. Quarless could reenter the mix around midseason.

The Packers "feel good" about TE Andrew Quarless' (torn ACL) progress.

However, coach Mike McCarthy suggests the "timing" of Quarless' injury means there's a chance he won't suit up in 2012. Quarless didn't undergo surgery until January after blowing out his right knee on December 4. Jermichael Finley's re-signing took away any need the Pack had to rush Quarless back.

Packers TE Andrew Quarless (torn ACL, injured reserve) thinks there's a "chance" he'll be able to play in 2012.

Quarless blew out his right knee on December 4, but couldn't undergo surgery until last Monday as he waited for the swelling to go down. If the Packers believe there's a chance he can contribute later in the 2012 season, he'll begin the year on the PUP list. Quarless was held to three catches in 10 games this season after making 21 grabs in the absence of Jermichael Finley in 2010.

Packers TE Andrew Quarless (injured reserve) underwent surgery to repair his torn right ACL on Monday.

Quarless also suffered MCL "damage" that healed on its own. The Packers have provided no timetable for Quarless to return, though it's likely he'll open next season on the PUP list. Quarless had three catches in ten games this year.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's Bob McGinn reports Packers TE Andrew Quarless (knee, injured reserve) requires reconstructive knee surgery, and is in jeopardy of missing all of 2012.

The Packers have still yet to reveal the exact nature of Quarless' injury, but it's a torn ACL at the very least. Although he's still only 23 years old, Quarless' injury has him off the radar in dynasty leagues despite a promising rookie season in 2010.
