Ravens re-signed WR/KR David Reed to a two-year, $2.5 million contract.
Reed was a restricted free agent that had not yet received a tender from the Ravens. Coming off a 2011 ACL tear, he appeared in just five games last season and caught five passes for 66 yards. Reed's biggest impact will come as a kickoff returner, where he has an impressive career average of 29.5 yards per return. Mar 12 - 8:16 AM

Ravens activated WR/KR David Reed (ACL surgery) from the reserve/PUP list.

S Anthony Levine (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding roster move. Reed has been eligible to return since Week 7, but hasn't been needed with Jacoby Jones excelling on returns. If Reed's active on game days, it will be as a special teamer.

Ravens placed WR/KR David Reed (ACL surgery) on reserve/PUP.

Reed tore his ACL in Week 16 last season and was never cleared to participate in camp. He's now out until at least Week 7. The Ravens will move forward with Jacoby Jones as their primary return man.

Ravens WR/KR David Reed (ACL surgery) is unlikely to be ready for Week 1.

Reed had previously said he expected to be ready for camp, but it's looking like he'll miss the entire preseason. If that's the case, he'll likely either be stashed on injured reserve or released with an injury settlement.

Ravens WR/KR David Reed (ACL surgery) expects to be ready for training camp.

Reed estimated last week that he was 90 percent, and expects to make up the remaining 10 percent between now and when the Ravens report to camp on July 24. He'll need to be 100 percent to have any chance of keeping his roster spot.

Ravens WR/KR David Reed is 90 percent recovered from ACL surgery.

Running fully and cutting, Reed says he has full range of motion in his leg. He will need to be back to full health by training camp to compete with rookies Deonte Thompson and Tommy Streeter for a roster spot. With Jacoby Jones on hand to handle return duties, Reed is facing an uphill battle.

Ravens KR David Reed (torn ACL) is ahead of schedule in his recovery and expects to be completely healthy by training camp.

Reed had knee surgery in December and has not been cleared to participate in contact drills. His status should be updated when the Ravens report for their mandatory June minicamp. He isn't guaranteed a spot on the 53-man roster.

Ravens KR David Reed (torn ACL) is hoping to soon resume running.

Reed is less than two months removed from his ACL tear, but says he "(feels) like I’m getting a lot of the motor control back." He hopes to be ready for training camp, but is still a candidate to begin the year on PUP. Fumbles cost Reed his job in Week 10 last season, and he won't be guaranteed a roster spot in 2012.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh confirmed Monday that KR David Reed tore his ACL in the team's Week 16 win over Cleveland.

He'll be placed on injured reserve, ending his season. Reed actually improved on his league-leading kick return average from his rookie year, going from 29.3 yards to 29.7 in 2011 with a long of 77. He still hasn't caught a regular season pass, however. Reed will likely open next season on the PUP list.

Ravens KR David Reed is believed to have torn his ACL in the Week 16 win over the Browns.

Reed is done for the year. "I made a cut on the kickoff return, and it buckled," he said. Reed averaged 29.7 yards on 18 kickoff returns this season.

David Reed has been removed from the Ravens' kick returner job.

In last Sunday's loss to the Seahawks, Reed fumbled twice on kickoff returns and picked up an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. "I think we're looking for our kick returner," coach John Harbaugh said Monday. Lardarius Webb, Chris Carr, Torrey Smith and LaQuan Williams are all options.

Rookies Torrey Smith and LaQuan Williams have passed him on the depth chart while he was out for three weeks. It's not clear yet who will handle kickoff returns against the Texans.

The Carroll County Times reports Ravens KR David Reed (shoulder) will be sidelined 3-to-6 weeks.

Reed damaged the AC joint in his left shoulder in Sunday's loss. Reed was having a huge game before going down, averaging 41.7 yards on three returns. Six weeks is a long time for a special teamer to potentially be inactive, but Reed is good enough for the Ravens to keep him off I.R. Rookie WRs LaQuan Williams and Torrey Smith are the most likely kick return fill-ins.

Ravens KR David Reed will undergo an MRI after damaging the AC joint in his left shoulder in Sunday's loss to the Titans.

Reed was "very upset" after the game, which suggests a long-term injury. He returned three kicks for an average of 41 yards against the Titans. Rookies LaQuan Williams and Torrey Smith are candidates to replace Reed on kickoff returns if he misses Week 3.

Ravens reinstated WR/KR David Reed.

Reed was serving a one-game suspension for a 2010 marijuana incident. He'll return to the primary kickoff-return job while battling Tandon Doss and Torrey Smith for the third receiver role.
