Free agent CB Quentin Jammer would "love" to re-sign with the Chargers.
"I’ve had conversations with them," Jammer said. "They said the door wasn’t completely closed. Hopefully, maybe down the road a little bit, the Chargers will offer me something." Jammer went on to say that his "expectation is to be elsewhere," and that he's not considering retirement. Going on 34, Jammer's lone free-agent visit was to the Redskins in late-April. The Washington Examiner thinks it's unlikely that free agent CB Quentin Jammer signs with the Redskins, although he isn't "completely off the radar."

The Redskins drafted three defensive backs last weekend, so they aren't as needy as they once were. Beat writer John Keim says if Washington is interested in Jammer, talks would rekindle this week. The soon-to-be 34-year-old visited the Redskins late last month, and the team still views him as a cornerback.

The Redskins will host CB Quentin Jammer for a free agent visit on Sunday night.

Ex-Chargers GM A.J. Smith is now in Washington's front office, explaining this connection. The Skins' biggest current secondary need is at free safety, where Jammer could potentially convert at 6-foot, 204 with solid tackling skills. He has been burnt early and often in deep man coverage the past few seasons.

The Tampa Bay Times has been told that the Bucs have not made contact with free agent CB Quentin Jammer.

The Bucs have a glaring hole at corner and have roughly $27 million of cap space. But their plans at the position are apparently on hold as the Darrelle Revis situation shakes out. Jammer, now entering his age-34 season, was among the worst coverage corners in the league last year.

The Union-Tribune San Diego suggests free agent CB Quentin Jammer could return to the Chargers "at the right price."

Jammer's free-agent market has been a snoozefest, not so much as warranting a Rotoworld blurb since four days before the signing period began. The Chargers still have $7 million in salary cap room. They need to sign their draft class, but could fit in Jammer on a deal for the league minimum salary.
Mar 26 - 12:13 AM

Free agent CBs Quentin Jammer and Antoine Cason are going to test the open market.

The "door is open" for both Jammer and Cason to return, but they'll likely "find better deals elsewhere." We wouldn't be so sure. The cornerback market is growing by the hour, and with teams working with a relatively flat cap, a lot of veterans could be on the street for a while. Cason, 26, shouldn't have trouble, but Jammer, 34 in June, might struggle to find much money.

Chargers LCB Quentin Jammer (broken hand) plans on playing in Sunday's game against the Titans.

It's becoming almost standard for defensive backs to play with broken hands. Jammer had surgery on Tuesday, but is fully expected to wear a cast and suit up. The Chargers are desperate as No. 3 corner Shareece Wright sustained a potentially serious ankle injury in Week 1.

Chargers LCB Quentin Jammer broke his hand in Monday's win over the Raiders.

It's unknown if Jammer will suit up in Sunday's game against the Titans, but it wouldn't be the first time a corner has played through a broken hand. It's possible Jammer will end up a game-time decision. Jammer's most likely fill-in Shareece Wright suffered an ankle injury against Oakland. His Week 2 availability is unknown. Coming off an up-and-down game against the Patriots, Titans QB Jake Locker could be in for a very favorable matchup Sunday.

According to the Union-Tribune San Diego, off-field issues contributed to Quentin Jammer's struggles last season.

Jammer is coming off career-lows in interceptions and pass deflections, but is firmly entrenched as San Diego's starting left corner. Antoine Cason is set to start opposite Jammer, with Marcus Gilchrist working at the nickel/slot position at OTAs. Entering a contract year, Jammer will need to prove he's committed to football if he hopes to reestablish his value on the open market.

LCB Quentin Jammer missed most of the fourth quarter of the Chargers' Week 8 loss due to cramping.

He returned to the game during overtime and hopefully this isn't related to the hamstring injury that he suffered in Week 3. Antoine Cason, who was recently benched for rookie Marcus Gilchrist, replaced him and the dropoff is significant. The Chargers get the Packers in Week 9, and they'll need all the help they can get against Aaron Rodgers and Co.

Chargers LCB Quentin Jammer (hamstring) is expected to resume practicing this week.

The Dolphins tried to pick on rookie Marcus Gilchrist in Week 4, but had little success, which was helped by Brandon Marshall's continued case of the dropsies. Jammer was inactive for the game, but it sounds like he's scheduled to return against the Broncos in Week 5. Gilchrist would resume nickel duties.

Chargers coach Norv Turner is characterizing LCB Quentin Jammer as "week to week" after straining his hamstring in Week 3.

Jammer "virtually guaranteed" he'd play against the Dolphins, but players usually miss at least one game when coaches describe their injuries as week-to-week situations. If Jammer does sit out against Miami, second-round pick Marcus Gilchrist would start. It could be a boost to Brandon Marshall's matchup.

Speaking to reporters after Sunday's win over Kansas City, Chargers LCB Quentin Jammer (hamstring) "virtually guaranteed" he'd be fine for Week 4.

Jammer was also walking without a limp, indicating the hamstring injury wasn't as severe as first imagined. Through three games, San Diego's top corner has eight tackles and one pass breakup. He hasn't been thrown on much.

Chargers CB Quentin Jammer left Sunday's game with a hamstring injury and will not return.

Jammer went down in the first half and was replaced by Marcus Gilchrist. The fact that Jammer was ruled out so quickly hints at a Grade 2 tear at least.

Coach Norv Turner confirmed Thursday that Quentin Jammer will be staying at cornerback as opposed to moving to safety next offseason.

"I could do that somewhere down the road," Jammer acknowledged. He believes he has 3-4 more years at corner, though, and Turner seems to agree. With Antoine Cason also locked in at corner, Nnamdi Asomugha is a longshot to end up in San Diego.
