Speaking Monday, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians called Ted Larsen his starting left guard.
It's unclear how permanent the designation is, but it's just the Cardinals' latest show of frustration with second-year pro Jonathan Cooper. Cooper is battling a toe injury, and has struggled when on the field. A fifth-year pro, Larsen has made 31 career starts, four of which came with the Bucs last season. Left guard is a major trouble spot for Arizona. Aug 18 - 2:13 PM

Cardinals signed G/C Ted Larsen, formerly of the Bucs, to a two-year contract.

A 2010 sixth-rounder, Larsen appeared in all 16 games last season. He's made 31 career starts, splitting time almost evenly between center and guard. He'll provide depth at all three interior-line positions in Arizona.

Bucs C/G Ted Larsen's 2013 base salary increased from $575,000 to $1.323 million after he hit escalators in his rookie deal.

Larsen was drafted by the Patriots in the sixth round in 2010, but he was claimed off waivers by the Bucs that same season. He's gone on to start 27 games in three years as an interior lineman. In an ideal situation, Larsen would be a key reserve. He's entering the final year of his deal.

Bucs C/G Ted Larsen saved three teens from rough gulf waters Wednesday after their kayak had overturned.

Larsen and his girlfriend were fishing when he heard the Coast Guard distress signal. Realizing he was close, Larsen rushed over to pull the teens into his 24-foot boat and usher them safely back to shore. "It could have been a big deal. You always read about overturned kayaks," Larsen said. "It was good to help them. It just felt it was a good thing to do."

Patriots signed sixth-round C Ted Larsen to a four-year, $1.87 million contract with an $80,300 signing bonus.

Larsen is the first of the Pats' 12 draft picks to sign. A defensive tackle early his career at N.C. State, Larsen converted to center as a junior. Though he's an interesting developmental project behind Dan Koppen, he could bide his time on the practice squad as a rookie.
