Dolphins signed TE Dedrick Epps.

Released by the Chargers in September, Epps was signed to the Dolphins' active roster after WR Brian Hartline (finger) went on I.R. The former Hurricane is not expected to make much of a splash in his return to Miami, as the seventh-round rookie is buried on the tight end depth chart.

Chargers signed seventh-round TE Dedrick Epps to a multi-year contract.

Epps may have been drafted earlier had Jimmy Graham not cut into his playing time down the stretch at Miami last year. A solid all-around tight end, Epps is expected to hold down the No. 3 job behind Antonio Gates and Randy McMichael as a rookie.

Chargers seventh-round pick Dedrick Epps is the favorite for the No. 3 TE job.

Epps, a 6'3/250-pounder out of Miami, caught 19 balls for 247 yards as a senior. He's a decent blocker and pass-catcher, but won't knock anyone's socks off. At least Epps gets to learn from Antonio Gates.
