Texans signed DT Brandon Deaderick.

Deaderick played 344 snaps as a run-stopping specialist for New Orleans' horrendous run defense last season. He'll fight for a similar role in Houston. Deaderick is far from assured of cracking the 53-man roster.

Free agent DT Brandon Deaderick worked out for the Jets.

Deaderick appeared in 13 games (two starts) with the Saints last year. He was a major part of their run defense struggles, grading out negatively by PFF across 344 snaps. 27-year-old Deaderick should resurface on a minimum contract.

Saints signed DT Brandon Deaderick to a one-year contract.

Deaderick is entering his age-27 season and is coming off a nine-tackle campaign for the Jaguars. He'll compete for a spot along a line that's brimming with talent.

The Saints worked out free agent DT Brandon Deaderick.

Deaderick, 27 in August, made nine tackles across 13 appearances for the Jags as a reserve last season. He spent the previous three seasons with the Pats, registering 45 tackles and five sacks in 34 games. Deaderick is a run-stuffer.

Chiefs worked out free agent DT Brandon Deaderick Wednesday.

Deaderick spent 2010-12 with the Patriots, starting 14 times as a run-stuffer. He latched on with the Jags last year, serving as a rotational tackle off the bench before dislocating his elbow.

Jaguars placed DT Brandon Deaderick on injured reserve with a dislocated elbow, ending his season.

A flurry of I.R. moves will be made this week that are essentially meaningless, as teams out of playoff contention simply use injured reserve as a means of clearing roster spots for youngsters to get on the field in Week 17. To take Deaderick's place on the roster, the Jaguars signed DT Kyle Love.

Jaguars DL Brandon Deaderick (elbow) won't play Week 17.

Deaderick dislocated his elbow in Sunday's loss to the Titans. The reserve finishes with nine tackles and a half-sack in 13 games this season.

Jaguars claimed DL Brandon Deaderick off waivers from the Patriots.

Deaderick and his $630,000 salary were waived on Monday. Deaderick has played at least 260 snaps each of the past three seasons, but is a mere body as a run defender and offers nothing as a pass rusher. Deaderick's salary makes him a strong contender for a roster spot as the Jags remake their front seven, but he's not going to suddenly make noise in his new home.

Patriots waived DL Brandon Deaderick.

The move is somewhat surprising because Deaderick logged heavy snaps down the stretch last season, starting five of New England's final six games. He never provided more than a wide body in run defense, though, registering five sacks across 34 appearances in Foxboro. Deaderick could generate some interest on waivers because his salary ($630,000) is cheap and he's still only 25.

Patriots activated DE Brandon Deaderick (shoulder) from the PUP list.

A seventh-round pick a year ago, Deaderick came on late in the season, tallying two sacks in 10 games while playing well in New England's Divisional Round loss to the Jets. He should be used as a rotational pass rusher.

Patriots placed DE Brandon Deaderick (shoulder) on the reserve/PUP list.

He'll be eligible to return in Week 8 against the Steelers. A seventh-round pick last year, Deaderick was productive in parts of 10 games, tallying 10 tackles and two sacks. Although he wasn't believed to have a roster spot sewn up heading into camp, he now seems likely to stick with the Pats all season as long as he gets healthy.

The Boston Globe believes DE Brandon Deaderick's spot on the Patriots' 53-man roster could be "iffy."

A rookie seventh-round pick last season, Deaderick drew a four-day suspension between the end of the regular season and New England's playoff loss to the Jets for a "violation of team policy." He was productive in parts of 10 games, however, notching 10 tackles and two sacks. He'll likely be back.

Patriots DE Brandon Deaderick underwent "minor" shoulder surgery this week.

The 2010 seventh-rounder sustained the injury in mid-December before the Pats suspended him for a violation of team policy. Deaderick totaled 10 tackles and two sacks in 10 games as a rookie.

The Patriots have lifted DE Brandon Deaderick's suspension for a violation of team policy.

Convenient. Deaderick was suspended just four days ago, but the Pats are desperately thin on the defensive line, so he's needed again. The seventh-round rookie out of Alabama probably appreciated the practice time off.
