Brown would seem to have clearer paths to a starting job elsewhere with FS Rahim Moore and SS D.J. Swearinger atop the depth chart in Houston. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported over the weekend that Brown was considering 5-6 offers and should make a decision "soon." He's two years removed from a torn ACL.

Schefter lists the Giants, Cowboys, Falcons, Raiders and Titans as interested teams, but there could be a surprise organization lurking. Brown struggled last season after missing 2013 with an ACL tear, but he was solid in 11 starts with the Giants in 2012. The Giants are desperate for safety help after striking out in free agency.

"It feels strong. It feels stable," he said of his knee. "I couldn’t ask for it to be better at the stage that it’s in." Brown had eight interceptions and two forced fumbles in 2012 before missing all of 2013 with the preseason ACL tear. "It’s definitely a place I want to be," Brown said of the Giants. "It’s just now we’ve got to talk to everybody upstairs and see where it goes from there."
