ESPN New York's Dan Graziano believes FS Stevie Brown will start for the Giants.

With FS Will Hill likely headed for another suspension, Brown will get the shot to replace him. Brown missed all of 2013 with an ACL tear, but should be ready for training camp. Brown recorded eight interceptions and two forced fumbles in 2012.

Giants re-signed FS Stevie Brown.

Brown announced the deal on his Twitter account. The soon-to-be 27-year-old missed the entire 2013 season with a torn ACL but should be 100 percent for minicamp and training camp. The ballhawk will form an impressive safety triumvirate along with Antrel Rolle and Will Hill in the Giants' "big nickel."
Mar 11 - 2:04 PM

The Giants have begun preliminary contract talks with free agent FS Stevie Brown.

Brown missed the entire 2013 season due to a left ACL tear suffered in August. He should be a cost-effective re-signing for the G-Men, who are currently working with just over $13 million in salary cap room. Brown turns 27 in July.
Feb 3 - 5:10 PM

The Newark Star-Ledger believes Giants FS Stevie Brown (ACL surgery) will be re-signed before the start of free agency.

Brown missed the entire 2013 season with a knee injury, so he shouldn't require much guaranteed money. The Giants are also expected to re-sign LB Jon Beason and RB Andre Brown before allowing them to reach the open market.
Jan 31 - 6:04 PM

Free agent FS Stevie Brown (left ACL surgery) says he is pleased with the state of his rehab, and wants to re-sign with the Giants.

"It feels strong. It feels stable," he said of his knee. "I couldn’t ask for it to be better at the stage that it’s in." Brown had eight interceptions and two forced fumbles in 2012 before missing all of 2013 with the preseason ACL tear. "It’s definitely a place I want to be," Brown said of the Giants. "It’s just now we’ve got to talk to everybody upstairs and see where it goes from there."

Giants FS Stevie Brown (torn ACL, injured reserve) will begin jogging next week.

Brown tore his left ACL on August 24 in a preseason game. He's currently on a one-year deal but hopes to return to the Giants. However, the G-Men seem to be pretty set at safety after Will Hill and Ryan Mundy have filled in admirably in Brown's absence. Hill is Pro Football Focus' No. 6 overall safety.

Giants FS Stevie Brown has officially been diagnosed with a torn left ACL, and is done for the season.

It's a huge blow for the Giants, who claimed Brown off the scrap heap last season only to watch him pick off eight passes, which was tied for second in the NFL. Brown was playing on a one-year, $2.023 million restricted free agent tender, and is headed for the open market. Veteran Ryan Mundy is expected to take his place in the starting lineup. Mundy has made just five starts in 64 career appearances. Brown has a year to get healthy for his age-27 season. He's likely to have trouble getting guaranteed money in free agency.

NFL Network's Albert Breer reports the Giants "fear" FS Stevie Brown tore his ACL.

Brown went down on a non-contact play in Saturday night's dress rehearsal, and non-contact knee injuries typically never end well. He's undergoing an MRI on Sunday. Coach Tom Coughlin will address the media later this afternoon. Veteran Ryan Mundy will likely be asked to fill Brown's shoes. Losing Brown would be a huge blow to an already highly suspect Giants defense.

Giants FS Stevie Brown left Saturday's preseason game with a knee injury.

Brown fell to the ground on a non-contact play while returning an interception at the end of the first quarter and had to be taken to the locker room. The Giants are calling it only a "sprain" for now, but more will be known after he undergoes an MRI. It's another potential blow to the secondary after Jayron Hosley was forced from Saturday's game with an ankle injury.

Giants re-signed restricted free agent FS Stevie Brown to a one-year, $2.023 million contract.

Brown earned every penny as a first-time starter last season, rolling up 76 tackles, two forced fumbles and eight interceptions. His eight picks were second most in the NFL, behind only Tim Jennings' nine. With Kenny Phillips now an Eagle, Brown will be returning as a starter opposite Antrel Rolle. The G-Men also have Will Hill, Ryan Mundy and Tyler Sash at safety.

Giants assigned a second-round tender to restricted free agent FS Stevie Brown.

Brown, who played linebacker at Michigan, was a revelation in place of injured Kenny Phillips last season, recording 76 tackles, eight interceptions, and two forced fumbles across 16 games, starting 11. Phillips is a free agent and unlikely to return, making Brown the obvious candidate to replace him full time.

ESPN New York expects the Giants to tender restricted free agent S Stevie Brown a contract if a long-term agreement cannot be reached.

Plucked from the Colts after they declined to tender him a contract last offseason, Brown intercepted eight passes his first year in New York, good for second in the league. He also contributed 76 tackles, and started 11-of-16 games. Bringing Brown back is a no-brainer for the G-Men.

Giants signed S Stevie Brown, formerly of the Colts.

Brown, 24, also drew interest from the Bengals after the Colts opted against tendering him as an exclusive rights free agent. Brown isn't much of a safety prospect, but the Giants will give him a chance to win a spot on special teams.

Free agent S Stevie Brown visited the Bengals last week.

A 2010 seventh-round pick of the Raiders, Brown appeared in just eight games for the Colts last season. If the Bengals sign Brown and lose free agent Reggie Nelson, it's unlikely Brown would be viewed as a potential replacement in the secondary.
