49ers signed WR Marlon Moore, formerly of the Dolphins, to a one-year contract.
Moore appeared in 14 games last season, but could never crack the Dolphins' wafer-thin receiver rotation. He finished with six catches for 116 yards. San Francisco is similarly lean at wideout, but Moore will be facing an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster. Mar 19 - 6:34 PM

The Dolphins declined to tender restricted free agents WR Marlon Moore, S Jonathon Amaya, TE Jeron Mastrud, and DB Bryan McCann, and exclusive rights free agent Patrick Brown, making them unrestricted free agents.

The Dolphins want some of the above players back, but weren't willing to pay the cost of the lowest possible tender. Moore, 25, caught six passes for 116 yards and a touchdown last season. Amaya and McCann play special teams.

Marlon Moore caught three passes for 46 yards in Miami's Week 6 win over the Rams.

The catches were Moore's first of the season. His 29-yard touchdown in the second quarter was just the second of his career, and came on a badly busted coverage. Although it's nice to see Moore get off the schneid, he was only involved at all because the Rams were intent on letting anyone besides Reggie Bush and Brian Hartline beat them. Moore remains off the radar.

Dolphins placed WR Marlon Moore (foot) on injured reserve, ending his season.

A core special teamer, Moore suffered the foot injury in last week's game against the Giants. The coaching staff appreciates his speed, but he's managed just six receptions in 15 games the past two years. Moore will likely be back to vie for a special teams role in 2012.

Coach Tony Sparano singled out WR Marlon Moore as someone that can bring speed to the Dolphins' offense.

You know it's bad when Sparano has to point to a 2010 undrafted free agent when asked about playmakers. The Dolphins should be targeting speed in the draft as Moore is not a realistic long-term option even as a fourth receiver.

Dolphins declared WR Marlon Moore, TE Mickey Shuler, TE Jeron Mastrud, T Matt Kopa, G Eric Ghiaciuc, DL Chris Baker, DL Ryan Baker, and CB Nate Ness inactive for Week 15 against the Bills.

Kevin Curtis is active ahead of Moore in his first week with the Dolphins. Expect him to play as the fourth receiver.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald thinks Marlon Moore will go back to being inactive once Brandon Marshall (hamstring) is ready to return.

In just his fifth game on the 45-man active roster Sunday, Moore hauled in a 57-yard touchdown pass. The undrafted rookie isn't a great special teams player, which hurts his chances of being activated for game days.

Undrafted rookie Marlon Moore appears to have secured the Dolphins' No. 4 receiver job.

He entered in four-receiver sets Friday against Atlanta, ahead of Patrick Turner and Roberto Wallace. Moore wasn't even the No. 1 option at Fresno State last year (it was Chargers rookie Seyi Ajirotutu), going to show how shallow the Fins have become at receiver following the Greg Camarillo trade.

Beat writer Omar Kelly suggests that Marlon Moore is Davone Bess' backup in the slot.

With Greg Camarillo gone, undrafted rookie Moore has a real shot to make the team. According to Kelly, Moore was already being "groomed" for the slot gig before Camarillo was shipped out of town.

Undrafted rookie WR Marlon Moore is listed ahead of 2009 third-round pick Patrick Turner on the Dolphins initial camp depth chart.

Moore, who goes 6'0/190, caught just 15 passes in 10 games last year at Fresno State, so this is another indictment of the disappointing Turner. Turner still has a better chance to make the roster than Moore because of his draft status, but that's the only thing keeping Turner alive at this point.
