Seahawks signed CB A.J. Jefferson, formerly of the Vikings.
Jefferson is a plus-sized (6'0/193) athlete with an insane 44-inch vertical and 4.42 speed, but he has struggled whenever given the opportunity to play on defense. The Seahawks will try to coach him up in their press-man scheme. May 2 - 4:12 PM

Free agent CB A.J. Jefferson worked out for the Seahawks on Thursday.

An ex-Viking and Cardinal, Jefferson has 14 games of starting experience, but was waived by Minnesota last November after getting arrested on domestic-violence charges. Jefferson has always struggled in coverage, but has some of the size Seattle likes in corners at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds.

Vikings waived CB A.J. Jefferson.

Jefferson was arrested on domestic assault charges early Monday morning. The Vikings wasted no time moving on from their backup corner that has appeared in 10 games this season.

Vikings re-signed restricted free agent CB A.J. Jefferson to a one-year, $1.32 million deal.

Jefferson was tendered at the original-round level. Injuries in the Vikings' secondary forced Jefferson to play 599 snaps and make seven starts last season, but he struggled mightily in coverage. He'll begin the year as a reserve.

Vikings extended an original-pick tender to restricted free agent CB A.J. Jefferson.

Jefferson, a former undrafted free agent, was acquired from the Cardinals at final cuts last season. The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder started seven games for the Vikings, recording 37 tackles and five pass breakups. He is very poor in coverage.

Vikings CB A.J. Jefferson (concussion) has been cleared to resume practicing, and is expected to start against the Rams.

It's good news for the Vikings, who won't have to turn to Brandon Burton and Marcus Sherels opposite Antoine Winfield against the Rams. Chris Cook (broken arm, I.R./designated for return) is eligible to return in Week 16.

Vikings CB A.J. Jefferson sustained a concussion in Week 14 versus the Bears.

Jefferson has been starting for Chris Cook (broken arm), who is ineligible to return from injured reserve until next week. Brandon Burton and Marcus Sherels will pick up snaps if Jefferson doesn't clear concussion tests to play at St. Louis.

Vikings DC Alan Williams said A.J. Jefferson has done "more than enough" to keep the starting cornerback job opposite Antoine Winfield.

Jefferson got the nod over Josh Robinson when Chris Cook went down with a broken right arm because the Vikings wanted to keep the rookie in the nickel package. "We like what A.J. is doing," Williams said. "It's a good fit for us. ... We like that rotation, we like the way we're bringing Josh along in terms of the defense."

Vikings acquired CB A.J. Jefferson from the Cardinals.

Jefferson opened 2011 as a starter for Arizona, but was benched in Week 9 after getting consistently burned. The former undrafted free agent is still just 24, however, and boasts impressive athleticism to go along with his 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame. He could see heavy snaps opposite Chris Cook in Minnesota.

A.J. Jefferson has moved up to third on the Cardinals cornerback depth chart.

Jefferson is climbing back up after getting benched six games into last season. He's fighting with William Gay and Greg Toler for the starting gig opposite Patrick Peterson. Rookie Jamell Fleming is also in the mix for snaps in this improved corner rotation.

Cardinals CB A.J. Jefferson was benched late in Sunday's loss to the Ravens.

The Cardinals chose to use Patrick Peterson on the speedy Torrey Smith and Jefferson on the physical Anquan Boldin. It didn't work. Boldin went off for 145 yards a drew three pass interference calls in the end zone. Richard Marshall replaced Jefferson deep in the fourth quarter.

A.J. Jefferson and first-round rookie Patrick Peterson will be the Cardinals' starting corners against the Panthers Sunday.

Richard Marshall will serve as the No. 3 corner. Jefferson is a second-year undrafted free agent that spent last season on the practice squad while Peterson is the No. 5 overall pick. They won't be threatened by Cam Newton's erratic arm, but this will be a secondary to attack as the year goes on.

Second-year CB A.J. Jefferson has seen action with the Cardinals' first-team defense early in training camp.

This will change when Patrick Peterson is formally promoted, but the Cards may have a keeper in Jefferson. He was stashed on the practice squad and game-day inactives list last year, developing as a project. Jefferson has freak athleticism with 4.49 speed and a ridiculous 44" vertical at 6'0/193 from the 2010 Combine. He'll be in line for starts if Peterson or Greg Toler goes down.

Freakishly athletic, Jefferson was kept on the final 53 as a project and didn't play in the first three weeks. He's now a practice squad candidate.
