Bengals re-signed LB Vincent Rey to a three-year, $11.5 million contract.
The Bengals have now re-signed almost all of their key defensive free agents including Rey, Adam Jones and George Iloka. The Vikings showed mild interest in Rey but he was always expected to return to Cincinnati. Despite receiving mostly negative grades from Pro Football Focus, Rey has led the Bengals in tackles each of the last two seasons. Mar 10 - 11:20 AM

The Vikings have "reached out" to free agent LB Vincent Rey.

Rey spent four years playing under Vikings coach Mike Zimmer in Cincinnati. Rey is a jack of all trades on defense, but master of none. Ideally, he'd be a core special teamer with a reserve role on defense. Rey played heavy snaps last season, logging 744. He led Cincinnati in tackles each of the past two years.

The National Football Post reports the Bengals will make a "major push" to re-sign free agent LB Vincent Rey.

A 2010 undrafted free agent, Rey has spent his entire career with the Bengals. He's featured on special teams while gradually earning a bigger role on defense. Rey has led the Bengals in tackles each of the past two years, but graded out as a sub-replacement player in Pro Football Focus' 2015 ratings. Going on 29, he's not going to command a big deal. If Rey is re-signed quickly, it will primarily be because the Bengals value his versatility in their linebacker corps.

The Bengals have promoted Vincent Rey into the starting lineup at strong-side linebacker, replacing Emmanuel Lamur.

Rey has been running with the first-team base defense in place of Lamur for a few weeks now and will get the nod over Lamur in Monday night's preseason game against the Bucs. Lamur was one of the worst 4-3 linebackers in the league last season, grading out 39th out of 40 qualifiers at Pro Football Focus. Rey received positive marks for his run defense across 1,029 snaps in 2014.

Bengals MLB Vincent Rey is getting reps with the first-team defense during OTAs.

Rey made three starts in place of an injured Rey Maualuga last season, finishing with 32 tackles and three sacks. He was an upgrade against the run and in coverage, and will be given an opportunity to earn the starting job. At worst, Rey should back up at all three linebacker spots and see snaps in sub packages.

Bengals re-signed LB Vincent Rey to a two-year extension.

Rey was a revelation filling in for an injured Rey Maualuga last season, recording 32 tackles, three sacks and an interception in only three starts. The former undrafted free agent has been primarily a special teams player in his four-year career, but is earning more and more defensive snaps with his play. He should be given a shot to compete in training camp and will at the very least be the first linebacker off the bench in Cincinnati.

Vinny Rey posted 15 tackles, three sacks, three pass breakups and one interception in Sunday's Week 10 overtime loss at Baltimore.

Rey is filling in for Rey Maualuga (knee) and at this rate, Maualuga may never get his job back. Vinny's three sacks Sunday were equal to the number Maualuga has posted in his entire 68-game career. He'll be an IDP plug-n-play in Week 11 and then the Bengals will reevaluate the situation. Maualuga is expected to be healthy following the Week 12 bye.

Bengals re-signed exclusive rights free agent LB Vincent Rey to a one-year, $630,000 contract.

Rey recorded 22 tackles in 16 games mainly as a special teamer in 2012, and he'll revert back to that role this upcoming season while backing up the three linebacker spots.

Vincent Rey is penciled in as the backup to Thomas Howard at weak-side linebacker.

Rey, a 2010 undrafted free agent out of Duke, is getting a chance to stick in Cincinnati thanks to his special teams play. He had nine tackles in that role last season.
