Ravens LB Albert McClellan will miss all of 2017 after suffering a torn ACL.
The hits keep coming for Baltimore. McClellan may not have had a big role on defense, but he would have been an asset on special teams. He was injured in a non-contact drill in practice last week. Mon, Aug 28, 2017 11:33:00 AM

The Baltimore Sun reports Albert McClellan "could enter the equation" at inside linebacker for the Ravens.

Baltimore did not do much to replace retired ILB Zachary Orr, so they will have to fill the position from within. 2016 second-rounder Kamalei Correa is the heavy favorite, but the Ravens could turn to the veteran McClellan if Correa falters. McClellan played primarily on the outside last season, but he did start four games inside. Patrick Onwuasor is another name to watch in camp.

Ravens re-signed LB Albert McClellan to a three-year contract.

McClellan is a core special teamer and reserve who played 161 snaps on defense last season. He's spent his entire five-year career in Baltimore. Going on 30, McClellan hasn't made a start since 2012.

Ravens re-signed LB Albert McClellan to a two-year contract.

The sides avoid restricted free agency, and Baltimore retains a core "teams" guy with the ability to play both inside and outside linebacker. McClellan, 28 in June, is not a dynamic defender, but led the Ravens with 12 special teams tackles last season and is a versatile reserve. He made 12 starts in 2012.

Ravens ILB Albert McClellan had offseason shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum.

McClellan hasn't been participating in OTAs, but he's expected back for the start of training camp. The former undrafted free agent started 11 games last season, recording 49 tackles and a sack. McClellan will compete with Jameel McClain and Daryl Smith for the starting inside 'backer spot next to Arthur Brown.

Ravens re-signed exclusive rights free agent ILB Albert McClellan.

It's news when teams don't re-sign their exclusive rights free agents. McClellan will compete for a starting job at inside linebacker. He notched 49 tackles and a sack last season, but spent most of his time at outside linebacker.

Coach John Harbaugh said Albert McClellan will exclusively play inside linebacker going forward.

With Ray Lewis and Dannell Ellerbe gone, the Ravens are dreadfully thin on the inside. McClellan, mostly a special teamer through the first two years of his career, did record 49 tackles and one sack a year ago. He also has the size 6'2/245 to hold up in the middle. Harbaugh also noted that Courtney Upshaw will remain on the outside.

Ravens OLB Albert McClellan is facing domestic violence charges in his hometown of Lakeland, Fla.

McClellan was arrested on June 30. He's facing charges of misdemeanor battery and simple assault with threat or intent to do violence, but the alleged victim has filed a waiver "not to prosecute." The Ravens have reportedly known about the incident since June. McClellan recently overtook rookie Courtney Upshaw as the favorite to start in place of reigning Defensive Player of the Year Terrell Suggs (Achilles' surgery) while he's on the reserve/PUP list.

Coach John Harbaugh indicated that Albert McClellan will compete with Paul Kruger to replace Jarret Johnson at outside linebacker.

The Ravens' leading special teams tackler, McClellan also filled in at inside linebacker for one late-season start. McClellan will be the underdog going into camp, as Harbaugh expects Kruger to "rise to the occasion and have a heck of a year." Sergio Kindle wasn't mentioned as a candidate for the job.

Ravens re-signed exclusive-rights free agent ILB Albert McClellan.

An undrafted free agent in 2010, McClellan led the Ravens in special teams tackles last season, but saw few snaps on defense. Along with Corey Graham and Brendon Ayanbadejo, he'll anchor the Ravens' special teams unit in 2012.

Ravens ILB Albert McClellan recorded four tackles against the 49ers in his first NFL start Thursday night.

McClellan was one of three undrafted starters on a Ravens defense that constant harassed Alex Smith while shutting down the 49ers offense. Special teamer Brendon Ayanbadejo replaced McClellan on third downs. Starter Ray Lewis (toe) believes he has a chance to "come back totally 100 percent" with 10 days to rest before the Browns game in Week 13.
