Bucs placed LB Jacob Cutrera on injured reserve with a head injury, ending his season.

Signed off the Jaguars' practice squad in early October, Cutrera tallied three special teams tackles in eight games. Still only 23 years old, Cutrera should be able to get on the field for someone in 2012 provided he's healthy.

The Bucs lost Devin Holland (back) for the season last week, so they were on the hunt for special teams help. Cutrera will also provide insurance behind linebackers Quincy Black and Zac Diles, who are both nursing injuries.

Cutrera was exclusively a special teamer for the Jags, making four tackles in eight games. He'll be replaced on the roster by Slade Norris.

Cutrera lost his roster spot a week ago when the Jags needed quarterback depth. He'll return to a special teams role if he manages to dress on game days.
