Former Patriots and Rams WR Reche Caldwell was arrested Thursday for possession of marijuana.
Caldwell was pulled over for a suspended license, and police found a plastic bag of pot next to the driver's seat. He was released on $750 bail. Caldwell's best NFL season came in 2006 with the Patriots, but the former No. 48 overall pick's career was ultimately a bust. We won't see him in the NFL again. Fri, May 6, 2011 03:48:00 PM

The Bills worked out free agent WR Reche Caldwell on Tuesday.

Buffalo has one of the deepest receiver crews in the league, so Caldwell wouldn't have any chance of making the roster if he was signed. The team has four wideouts currently sidelined, so they're likely just looking for a camp body.

Caldwell isn't a very good player, although he may get some calls in-season from needy clubs. Williams is a former third-round pick of the 49ers.

Rams signed WR Reche Caldwell to a one-year, $645,000 contract.

It's a low risk signing for the price, but it isn't like Caldwell has much potential either. He's said to have chronic knee issues and couldn't pass Keenan McCardell, 37, or James Thrash on the Redskins' depth chart last year. The Rams shouldn't think of him as more than a fourth receiver. For now, he's No. 3. They still need to address the position early in April's draft.

The Rams will host free agent WR Reche Caldwell and CB David Macklin for visits Thursday.

The Rams are really scratching the bottom of the barrel here. Caldwell carries concerns about a chronic knee issue. Macklin, 29, couldn't beat out undrafted free agent types for playing time in Washington last season.

The Redskins have offers on the table for free agent WR Reche Caldwell and OL Jason Fabini.

Caldwell would be seen as a deep reserve if he re-signed with Washington. The 'Skins are probably only offering him a deal for the minimum.

Caldwell was never on the injury report last year, so this is news to us. The emerging journeyman could fall out of the league if the issues are serious.

Reche Caldwell came off the bench to catch three passes for 26 yards in Week 13 against the Bills.

Playing extensively for the first time this year, Caldwell split action with Keenan McCardell outside while filling in for Antwaan Randle El (hamstring), who was inactive. Neither replacement is a good fantasy pickup.

Redskins declared DT Lorenzo Alexander, DT Ryan Boschetti, TE Cody Boyd, WR Reche Caldwell, SS Vernon Fox, DB Fred Smoot, G Randy Thomas and QB Mark Brunell (3rd QB) inactive.

Caldwell is still learning the Redskins offense so Brandon Lloyd and James Thrash remain the third and fourth receivers.

Inactive Monday night after signing last week, the Washington Post reports that Reche Caldwell "is expected to challenge for playing time in practice this week."

Caldwell has a good chance of claiming the third-receiver job eventually, pushing Brandon Lloyd down the depth chart.

Redskins signed WR Reche Caldwell to a one-year contract.

The Redskins finally ended their quest to add another receiver. Caldwell should quickly move ahead of Brandon Lloyd and become their third wideout. He would have minimal fantasy value in that role, but in time he could move ahead of Antwaan Randle El, who is likely best suited as a third receiver.
