Jets placed CB Aaron Berry (hamstring) on season-ending injured reserve.
Berry appeared in seven games for the Jets after being signed on the first day of October. He recorded just two tackles while playing mostly on special teams for New York. Berry is under contract for a reasonable $650,000 in 2013. Thu, Dec 27, 2012 04:37:00 PM

Jets CB Aaron Berry (hamstring) will be out 2-3 weeks.

Berry pulled his hamstring during last week's win over the Jaguars. He's now a candidate for injured reserve, leaving Ellis Lankster and Josh Bush as backups to starting corners Antonio Cromartie and Kyle Wilson.

Jets signed CB Aaron Berry to a two-year contract.

Berry's suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy ended a week ago. The former Lion will give the Jets much-needed depth in the secondary after converted RB Joe McKnight actually took snaps at corner in Week 4. Although he has myriad off-field issues, Berry is a talented enough cover man that we wouldn't be surprised if he were starting over Kyle Wilson within a couple of weeks.

Free agent CB Aaron Berry visited the Jets on Friday.

Per ESPN New York, the Jets also worked out Chris Carr, Dante Hughes and Darrin Walls. It's Berry's first visit since the Lions cut him loose in July following his second arrest in one month. Berry's three-game suspension is over, so he could theoretically play for the Jets as early as Sunday. Berry isn't exactly a lock-down corner, has had shoulder issues and is obviously a head-case. He'd still be a far better depth option for the Darrelle Revis-less Jets than converted RB Joe McKnight, however. Berry has reportedly also worked out for the Dolphins.

NFL suspended free agent CB Aaron Berry three games for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

Berry will not appeal. Berry can serve the suspension while a free agent, so he'll be eligible for reinstatement in Week 4. Berry was released by the Lions on July 23 following his second arrest in less than a month. He was busted for DUI on June 26 and accused of pointing a loaded gun at three different people on July 21. He has since entered the league's substance abuse program. In line to start for the Lions before being consumed by his off-the-field issues, Berry should draw interest once his suspension is up, if not before.

Former Lions CB Aaron Berry passed through waivers unclaimed.

Berry was working on a minimum salary, so it says quite a bit about his reputation around the NFL that he went unclaimed when the cost to claim him would have been so cheap. Berry was busted for DUI and three counts of assault this offseason. He was caught pointing a loaded gun at three individuals in July.

Free agent CB Aaron Berry will enter the NFL's Substance Abuse Program.

Berry made the disclosure in a Monday statement, where he said "words cannot describe how embarrassed I am right now" following his second arrest in less than 30 days. Berry was accused of pointing a loaded gun at three people over the weekend at around 3AM in a bar district. We suspect Berry will get another shot in the NFL, but there will be no frenzy to sign him for 2012.

Lions waived RCB Aaron Berry.

A franchise beleaguered by off-field issues had enough of Berry's antics. He was busted for DUI on June 26 and arrested again Saturday night after reportedly pointing a firearm at three different people. The firearm was loaded, according to police. Berry was penciled in as the Lions' starting right corner, a job for which Alphonso Smith, Dwight Bentley and Jacob Lacey will now battle. It's a blow to the Lions' secondary.

Lions RCB Aaron Berry was arrested Saturday on three counts of simple assault.

That's seven offseason arrests for the Lions and Berry has been responsible for two, both in the last 30 days. After a June 26 drunken driving arrest, Berry reportedly pointed a firearm at three different people last night. He's surely facing league discipline and it's fair to wonder if his roster spot is in jeopardy considering Detroit spent three draft picks on the position in April.

Lions CB Aaron Berry waived the preliminary hearing in his DUI case stemming from a June 23 accident.

In addition to the DUI, Berry faces two counts of accidents involving other vehicles and two counts of failure to stop and give information to law enforcement after leaving the scene. No date has been set for Berry's trial. He's still considered the favorite to start opposite Chris Houston this season.

ABC Detroit reports Lions CB Aaron Berry was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Harrisburg, Pa. on Saturday.

Unbelievable. Counting two each for Nick Fairley and Mikel Leshoure, that's now six arrests for the Lions this offseason. Arrested at 4:45AM, Berry was booked after striking two parked vehicles and fleeing the scene. In addition to DUI, he's been charged with causing accidental damage to an unattended vehicle and failure to stop and give information to law enforcement. The Lions have gone above and beyond to pump up Berry as their answer at right cornerback, but this won't help his chances of holding off third-round pick Dwight Bentley and Jacob Lacey in camp. It's getting harder to deny the Lions have a discipline problem.

Chris Houston and Aaron Berry took all of the first-team cornerback reps at Lions minicamp.

Shoulder injuries have limited Berry to 12 games in his first two NFL seasons. But come Week 1, he'll almost certainly be lined up at right corner while Jacob Lacey and three rookies battle for nickel duties. The Lions remain weak in the secondary and will be a pass defense to target for 2012 fantasy purposes.

The Detroit Free Press considers Aaron Berry the favorite for the Lions' starting right cornerback job.

Berry has been working as a starter all offseason, and veteran Jacob Lacey is manning the slot in this week's minicamp. Lacey and third-rounder Dwight Bentley could push Berry in camp, but the job is his to lose.

NFL Network's Albert Breer hears that the Lions' coaching staff "LOVES" third-year CB Aaron Berry.

Recurring right shoulder injuries have limited Berry to 12 appearances in his first two seasons, but he's running as the team's first-string right corner in OTAs. Berry currently looks like the favorite for the job, barring a trade for Mike Jenkins. Chris Houston is the left corner, and rookie Dwight Bentley is competing with burnable Jacob Lacey for the nickel back role.

Aaron Berry worked as the first-team right cornerback as the Lions opened full-squad OTAs on Monday.

Chris Houston was at his customary left cornerback spot, with Jacob Lacey in the slot for nickel packages. Talented rookies Chris Greenwood and Dwight Bentley will push Berry at RCB, but he's the veteran in-house favorite. Berry's OTA participation also confirms he's recovered from offseason shoulder surgery.
