Redskins re-signed TE Logan Paulsen to a three-year contract with a max value of $7 million and a $1.1 million signing bonus.
Paulsen, 26, caught 25 passes for 308 yards and one touchdown in 16 games last season, starting ten after Fred Davis' Achilles' tear. Not much of a receiving threat, Paulsen is purely a possession target but excels in the run game, grading out as a top-ten run-blocking tight end according to Pro Football Focus. The re-signing of Paulsen should not impact negotiations with free agent Davis. Mar 9 - 11:29 AM

CSN Washington believes re-signing restricted free agent TE Logan Paulsen will be a priority for the Redskins this offseason.

Paulsen started ten games and caught 25 passes for 308 yards and a touchdown in 2012 after starter Fred Davis tore his Achilles' tendon in Week 7. Davis, along with fan favorite Chris Cooley, are both unrestricted free agents. Paulsen's lack of speed and athleticism should still keep him off fantasy radars.

Logan Paulsen caught two passes for 15 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Wild Card round loss to the Seahawks.

Paulsen hauled in a 4-yard touchdown just after Robert Griffin III's initial knee aggravation on a failed pass to Pierre Garcon. A restricted free agent, Paulsen will be back with the Redskins in 2013 -- but likely not as the starter. Fred Davis (Achilles surgery) is an unrestricted free agent.

Logan Paulsen caught one pass for eight yards in Washington's Week 17 win over the Cowboys.

Washington's cement-footed tight end finishes the regular season with 25 catches for 308 yards and one touchdown. Regardless of whether or not Fred Davis is re-signed, Paulsen — who is headed for restricted free agency — won't be a fantasy factor in 2013.

Logan Paulsen caught four passes for 47 yards in the Redskins' Week 15 win over the Browns.

Paulsen leaked out from his usual blocking role for a few key third-down conversions. Don't put him on the TE2 radar. In the four games before this, Paulsen didn't top two catches or 17 yards.

Logan Paulsen was held to one catch for eight yards against the Ravens in Week 14.

The tight end has disappeared from the Redskins offense since Pierre Garcon returned to the lineup a month ago. Paulsen has failed to top 20 yards in four consecutive games.

Logan Paulsen caught one pass for 11 yards in Week 13 versus the Giants.

Paulsen hasn't cracked 17 yards receiving in three weeks and is proving to be a non-factor in fantasy. He's more valuable for his blocking. Leave Paulsen alone and on the waiver wire.

Redskins TE Logan Paulsen caught two passes for 11 yards in Washington's Thanksgiving Day win over the Cowboys.

A plodding, mostly blocking tight end, Paulsen now has three catches for 28 yards over his last two games. With bye weeks done for all NFL teams, Paulsen shouldn't be residing on any fantasy rosters. He's waiver-wire material.

Redskins TE Logan Paulsen (hip) was limited in Tuesday's practice.

Paulsen isn't believed to be in danger of missing Thursday's game at Dallas. He saw just one target in Week 11 after averaging seven per in the previous three games.

Logan Paulsen caught one pass for a 17-yard touchdown versus the Eagles in Week 11.

Paulsen powered his way into the end zone for the last of Robert Griffin III's four touchdowns. He was targeted just the one time. Paulsen draws a Dallas defense allowing the 27th-most fantasy points to tight ends in Week 12.

Logan Paulsen led the Redskins with 59 yards on five receptions versus the Panthers in Week 9.

Much like Brandon Myers of the Raiders, Paulsen brings sure hands and an ability to find holes in the defense but offers no run-after-catch ability. It's a major problem for the Redskins when he is Robert Griffin III's most effective "weapon." Paulsen is averaging a respectable 4.5 catches and 51 yards in two starts since Fred Davis went down.

Redskins TE Logan Paulsen caught four passes for 43 yards in Week 8 against the Steelers.

Paulsen stepped into the starting lineup in place of Fred Davis (Achilles, injured reserve), and saw six targets while finishing as the team's second-leading receiver. His big play came on a 31-yard gain down the sideline. Paulsen and recently re-signed Chris Cooley lined up together in a lot of two tight end sets, but Cooley saw just one target. Neither player is much of a fantasy option at the moment.

Coach Mike Shanahan said Logan Paulsen, not Chris Cooley, will be the Redskins' No. 1 tight end with Fred Davis out for the season.

"He's earned it," explained Shanahan. Paulsen has been dubbed "The Angle King" by Redskins coaches because he takes such good angles in blocking. OC Kyle Shanahan says Paulsen is "a legit tight end now" after his 76-yard breakout game in Davis' stead last week. Desperate deep leaguers may want to take Paulsen for a spin against the Steelers this week.

Logan Paulsen caught four passes for 76 yards in the Redskins' Week 7 loss to the Giants.

With Fred Davis (Achilles') lost for the season, Paulsen stepped in as an every-down tight end. The numbers look nice, but we're not rushing to make an add here. All of his catches came off broken plays, not designed throws to Paulsen. Also, when Davis went down in Week 13 last year, Paulsen managed just four catches for 43 yards over the final four games.

Logan Paulsen projects as the Redskins' starting tight end for the rest of the season.

Chris Cooley is on injured reserve and Fred Davis will reportedly be suspended for the final four games. That leaves Paulsen, a 2010 undrafted free agent out of UCLA. Only the most desperate of owners should take a flier here as Paulsen is a 268-pound blocker more than pass-catcher. The Redskins' offensive line will need plenty of help protecting with Trent Williams also reportedly suspended for four games.
