Russell is being promoted from the practice squad with Richard Marshall (back) sidelined for Sunday's game against the Colts. The Dolphins released WR Anthony Armstrong in a corresponding move.

Redskins waived S Anderson Russell and OL Clint Oldenburg.

Oldenburg didn't get many reps in camp behind Washington's healthy starting five linemen. Anderson, an Ohio State alum, tore his ACL last November.

Anderson Russell - DB - Panthers

Redskins placed S Anderson Russell on injured reserve with a torn ACL, ending his season.

Russell, an undrafted rookie out of Ohio State, suffered the injury in his second appearance after signing from the practice squad. He finishes the year with two tackles, and will compete for a roster spot in 2011 camp.
