49ers FB Will Tukuafu (knee) remained limited in Thursday's practice.

Tukuafu suffered a knee injury in the 49ers' Divisional Round win, but has yet to miss any practice time. Barring a setback, he should be healthy enough to serve as Frank Gore's lead blocker for Sunday's NFC Championship Game.

49ers FB Will Tukuafu (knee) participated in Wednesday's practice, getting in a limited session.

It's an extremely good sign after Tukuafu went down in a heap in Sunday's win over the Panthers. Barring a setback, he's now on track to clear the way for Frank Gore against the Seahawks. If Tukuafu can't go, San Francisco will be forced to rely on some combination of Anthony Dixon and TE Vance McDonald.

49ers coach Jim Harbaugh was "encouraged" by how FB Will Tukuafu (knee) was moving around on Monday.

Harbaugh didn't comment on Tukuafu's status for the NFC Championship Game, but it appears there's at least a slim chance he suits up. The Sacramento Bee reported Sunday evening the "early indications" were that Tukuafu suffered a sprained MCL. If that diagnosis holds, it's highly unlikely he'd be active in Seattle. That would leave Anthony Dixon and TE Vance McDonald to pave the way for Frank Gore.

Per the Sacramento Bee, "early indications" are 49ers FB Will Tukuafu escaped Sunday with an MCL sprain.

The injury appeared more serious on the field, so an MCL sprain would be good news. Tukuafu has been filling in for Bruce Miller as San Francisco's starting lead blocker. He's going to be questionable for the NFC Championship game.
Jan 12 - 9:41 PM

49ers FB Will Tukuafu exited Sunday's Divisional Round game with a first-quarter knee injury.

Tukuafu recently converted from defensive line to fullback, replacing Bruce Miller after a year-ending injury. Tukuafu did walk off the field under his own power, but was declared done for the day after the first quarter.

49ers released DE Will Tukuafu with an injury settlement.

Tukuafu was waived/injured with an undisclosed injury last week. Tukuafu appeared in 14 games last season, but was held off the stat-sheet. It's possible he'll be re-signed later this year.

49ers waived/injured DE Will Tukuafu.

With the 49ers since 2010, Tukuafu has notched zero career tackles. He played limited snaps on special teams. He'll revert to injured reserve once he clears waivers.

49ers DE Will Tukuafu has been seeing time at fullback in minicamp.

Tukuafu saw only a handful of snaps before a wrist injury sent him to injured reserve last season, but he's expected to compete for a reserve/special teams role in camp. Getting familiar with fullback can only help his chances of cracking San Francisco's 53.

49ers signed exclusive rights free agent DE Will Tukuafu to a two-year contract.

After spending the majority of the 2010 season on the practice squad, Tukuafu appeared in five games last season before suffering a season-ending dislocated right wrist. He's now 100 percent recovered. The Niners are high on his motor and work ethic as a reserve/special teamer.

49ers placed DE Will Tukuafu on injured reserve with a damaged right wrist, ending his season.

This is the roster deletion needed to create room for rookie S Colin Jones. A former undrafted free agent out of Oregon, Tukuafu played 17 snaps in the first three games before being inactive for Week 4. Rookies Demarcus Dobbs and Ian Williams could move up the depth chart.

49ers promoted DE Will Tukuafu from their practice squad.

Tukuafu takes the roster spot of OLB Travis LaBoy (I.R., knee). The undrafted rookie provides depth for the Niners' front seven in the remaining two games, and will likely get a shot to showcase the skills that earned him the Schaffeld Award (outstanding defensive lineman) as a senior at Oregon.
