Jordan Todman rushed five times for 71 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' Week 16 win over the Titans, adding two catches for five yards.
Todman had the play of the night in the fourth quarter. With the Jags running a fake reverse, Todman took the handoff, made one cut and was off to the races for a 62-yard touchdown. Todman showed serious speed in housing his first score of the year. He could be in for a bigger role in Week 17 if Toby Gerhart (ribs) can't go. Dec 19 - 12:01 AM

Date:

Jordan Todman (quad) is probable for Week 10 against the Cowboys.

Todman sat out practice Friday, but should be ready to roll as the Jaguars' sparingly-used third-down back. His snaps have decreased each of the past three weeks.
Nov 7 - 8:55 AM

Jordan Todman caught one pass for 26 yards in the Jaguars' Week 7 win over the Browns.

Todman did not get a rushing attempt. His reception came on a well-designed screen. Even with Storm Johnson's role scaled back and Toby Gerhart (foot) on the shelf, Todman has not been a frequently utilized player in the Jaguars' offense beyond pass-protection situations. If the Jags eventually call up practice squadder Henry Josey, Todman could be the odd man out.
Oct 19 - 5:07 PM

Jordan Todman rushed three times for one yard and caught a pass for zero yards in the Jaguars' Week 6 loss to the Titans.

The Jaguars' passing-down back behind Storm Johnson, Todman mixed and matched change-of-pace carries with Denard Robinson, but was ineffective behind Jacksonville's poor run blocking. Todman let his team down with a brutal third-quarter drop that would've gone for a long gain. He had Titans OLB Kam Wimbley beaten on the play. Todman has no value in fantasy leagues.
Oct 12 - 4:14 PM

The Jags view Jordan Todman as strictly a third-down back.

The Jags are searching for answers in their scuffling backfield, but promoting Todman to an early-down role isn't in the cards. That leaves riser Storm Johnson, ineffective Toby Gerhart and disappointing Denard Robinson to battle for base reps.
Oct 7 - 9:26 AM

Jordan Todman caught two passes for 23 yards in Jacksonville's Week 5 loss to the Steelers before departing with a right-ankle injury.

Todman was one of four Jaguars running backs getting work, with Storm Johnson joining Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson. Regardless of the severity of his injury, Todman remains miles from re-draft relevance.
Oct 5 - 6:25 PM

Jordan Todman rushed once for four yards and caught two passes for 20 yards in the Jaguars' Week 4 loss to the Chargers.

The Jaguars give Todman blitz-pickup opportunities, but don't make much attempt to get him the football when he's in. He is the No. 3 tailback behind Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson.
Sep 28 - 7:35 PM

Jaguars RB Jordan Todman rushed once for ten yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to Indianapolis.

He was targeted once in the passing game and couldn't secure it. Todman is clearly behind Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson on the Jags' depth chart.
Sep 21 - 4:40 PM

Jordan Todman rushed three times for six yards and caught one pass for five yards in Sunday's Week 1 loss at Philadelphia.

Todman got a lot of reps in passing situations. It's unclear if that was planned or as a result of Toby Gerhart's ankle issues. Regardless, Todman is behind Denard Robinson for primary backup duties and is therefore well off the fantasy radar.
Sep 7 - 6:02 PM

Jordan Todman had five carries for three yards in Friday night's preseason game, adding three catches for 32 yards.

Todman saw time with the first team and spelled Toby Gerhart on third downs in the first quarter. He's considered the Jaguars' best pass protector and has locked up the No. 2 running back. Todman would likely be used in a committee if Gerhart went down. He has 25 touches for 88 yards through three preseason games.
Aug 22 - 11:35 PM

ESPN Jaguars reporter Michael DiRocco believes Jordan Todman has "locked up" the No. 2 running back job.

If so, it's certainly not because of his preseason performances; he's averaging less than 2.0 YPC. DiRocco reports Todman has had a "very good camp" and is easily the team's best pass protector behind Toby Gerhart. Denard Robinson and rookie Storm Johnson have been impressive runners. They don't have the experience in blitz pickup. If Gerhart went down, it'd likely be a committee.

Aug 17 - 12:01 PM

Spending time with both the first- and second-team offense, Jordan Todman rushed eight times for just 18 yards in Thursday's game against the Bears.

Todman did manage to add three receptions for 24 yards, but it was not an impressive performance. The only time he stood out as a runner was when he failed to secure a Blake Bortles handoff late in the second quarter. Todman ran well ahead of Denard Robinson and Storm Johnson this evening, but that may not be the case for Jacksonville's third preseason game. The battle to handcuff Toby Gerhart has not been settled.
Aug 14 - 10:07 PM

Jordan Todman rushed for five yards on five carries and caught a six-yard pass in Friday night's preseason opener against the Bucs.

Todman got the start in the backfield with Toby Gerhart (hip) sidelined. He was blown up early for a five-yard loss before picking up five yards shortly after. That was about all the action Todman saw. Denard Robinson (7-36-1 rushing line) was impressive against the Bucs' backups and may give Todman a run for his money as Gerhart's change-of-pace complement.
Aug 8 - 11:16 PM

Jordan Todman appears to have a "solid hold" on the No. 2 running back job.

Todman's strong start to camp has him ahead of Denard Robinson and Storm Johnson. The winner of this battle will be a change-of-pace option behind Toby Gerhart, who is expected to touch the ball 20-plus times a game.

Aug 1 - 7:58 AM

Jaguars OC Jedd Fisch made it clear he envisions Jordan Todman as a "change of pace" back.

Toby Gerhart detractors have suggested Todman might pose a threat to Gerhart's workload or even his starting job, but Fisch doesn't seem to agree. "Those two guys are truly change-of-pace backs," Fisch said of Todman and Denard Robinson, who are vying for the pace-change role behind Gerhart. Fisch did praise Todman's "burst, speed and acceleration." Gerhart lacks a clear handcuff with Todman, Robinson, and Storm Johnson all competing for backup duties.
