Panthers reporter David Newton expects RB Jordan Todman to contribute as a kick returner.
Todman will have a tough time unseating fifth-round pick Cameron Artis-Payne or Fozzy Whittaker for snaps behind starter Jonathan Stewart, but he should improve the Panthers' bottom-ten return game. Todman owns a 25.9-yard average over 68 career kick returns. Jun 13 - 12:17 PM

Panthers signed RB Jordan Todman, formerly of the Jaguars, to a one-year contract.

Todman didn't get a restricted free agent tender from the Jags even though they only have Denard Robinson and Toby Gerhart atop their depth chart. So Todman will fight for a roster spot in Carolina, where they'll continue to add backs behind Jonathan Stewart. Todman, a bit undersized at 5-10/198, does bring some added value as a solid primary kick return candidate.
Mar 30 - 12:31 PM

The Jaguars declined to tender restricted free agents RB Jordan Todman, FB Will Ta’ufo’ou, CB Teddy Williams, G/C Jacques McClendon, and TE Fendi Onobun.

All five become unrestricted free agents, as the Jags deemed none of them worthy of a $1.54 million lowest-possible tender. Todman served as a situational passing-down back in 2014, behind Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson. Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell has had 14 restricted free agents on his watch through three years on the job. He has not tendered a single one of them.
Mar 6 - 3:09 PM

Jordan Todman rushed for 52 yards on seven carries in the Jaguars' Week 17 loss to the Texans, adding five catches for 46 yards and one touchdown.

Todman saw extensive snaps after Toby Gerhart was injured early. He wraps up the season with 186 yards and one touchdown on 32 carries, adding 25 catches for 198 yards and another score. Merely a third-down back and pass-blocking specialist, Todman played just about 300 snaps this season behind Denard Robinson, Toby Gerhart, and, at times, Storm Johnson, though his role remained steady on a weekly basis. That’s something the three other running backs can’t say. Todman will be a restricted free agent in March. He should be back with the Jaguars in 2015.

Jordan Todman rushed five times for 71 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' Week 16 win over the Titans, adding two catches for five yards.

Todman had the play of the night in the fourth quarter. With the Jags running a fake reverse, Todman took the handoff, made one cut and was off to the races for a 62-yard touchdown. Todman showed serious speed in housing his first score of the year. He could be in for a bigger role in Week 17 if Toby Gerhart (ribs) can't go.

Jordan Todman (quad) is probable for Week 10 against the Cowboys.

Todman sat out practice Friday, but should be ready to roll as the Jaguars' sparingly-used third-down back. His snaps have decreased each of the past three weeks.

Jordan Todman caught one pass for 26 yards in the Jaguars' Week 7 win over the Browns.

Todman did not get a rushing attempt. His reception came on a well-designed screen. Even with Storm Johnson's role scaled back and Toby Gerhart (foot) on the shelf, Todman has not been a frequently utilized player in the Jaguars' offense beyond pass-protection situations. If the Jags eventually call up practice squadder Henry Josey, Todman could be the odd man out.

Jordan Todman rushed three times for one yard and caught a pass for zero yards in the Jaguars' Week 6 loss to the Titans.

The Jaguars' passing-down back behind Storm Johnson, Todman mixed and matched change-of-pace carries with Denard Robinson, but was ineffective behind Jacksonville's poor run blocking. Todman let his team down with a brutal third-quarter drop that would've gone for a long gain. He had Titans OLB Kam Wimbley beaten on the play. Todman has no value in fantasy leagues.

The Jags view Jordan Todman as strictly a third-down back.

The Jags are searching for answers in their scuffling backfield, but promoting Todman to an early-down role isn't in the cards. That leaves riser Storm Johnson, ineffective Toby Gerhart and disappointing Denard Robinson to battle for base reps.

Jordan Todman caught two passes for 23 yards in Jacksonville's Week 5 loss to the Steelers before departing with a right-ankle injury.

Todman was one of four Jaguars running backs getting work, with Storm Johnson joining Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson. Regardless of the severity of his injury, Todman remains miles from re-draft relevance.

Jordan Todman rushed once for four yards and caught two passes for 20 yards in the Jaguars' Week 4 loss to the Chargers.

The Jaguars give Todman blitz-pickup opportunities, but don't make much attempt to get him the football when he's in. He is the No. 3 tailback behind Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson.

Jaguars RB Jordan Todman rushed once for ten yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to Indianapolis.

He was targeted once in the passing game and couldn't secure it. Todman is clearly behind Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson on the Jags' depth chart.

Jordan Todman rushed three times for six yards and caught one pass for five yards in Sunday's Week 1 loss at Philadelphia.

Todman got a lot of reps in passing situations. It's unclear if that was planned or as a result of Toby Gerhart's ankle issues. Regardless, Todman is behind Denard Robinson for primary backup duties and is therefore well off the fantasy radar.

Jordan Todman had five carries for three yards in Friday night's preseason game, adding three catches for 32 yards.

Todman saw time with the first team and spelled Toby Gerhart on third downs in the first quarter. He's considered the Jaguars' best pass protector and has locked up the No. 2 running back. Todman would likely be used in a committee if Gerhart went down. He has 25 touches for 88 yards through three preseason games.

ESPN Jaguars reporter Michael DiRocco believes Jordan Todman has "locked up" the No. 2 running back job.

If so, it's certainly not because of his preseason performances; he's averaging less than 2.0 YPC. DiRocco reports Todman has had a "very good camp" and is easily the team's best pass protector behind Toby Gerhart. Denard Robinson and rookie Storm Johnson have been impressive runners. They don't have the experience in blitz pickup. If Gerhart went down, it'd likely be a committee.
