Jaguars acquired DT Marcell Dareus from the Bills for a conditional 2018 sixth-round pick.

It's another aggressive move from a post-Doug Whaley regime that's traded away Sammy Watkins, Ronald Darby, and Reggie Ragland. Dareus fell out of favor in coach Sean McDermott's scheme, starting just three games and playing only 34 percent of snaps. He wasn't living up to his contract, and clashed with the coaching staff over off-field and work ethic concerns. This is essentially a salary dump for Dareus, who was still one of the better tackles in the league last season. Dareus reunites with Doug Marrone in Jacksonville and upgrades a defensive line that's struggled against the run. The Jaguars will assume the final three years and $49-plus million of Dareus' deal.

Bills DT Marcell Dareus (ankle) wasn't listed on the team's final injury report for Week 4 against the Falcons.

Dareus will be back in the fold Sunday after sitting out last week's game with a bad ankle. His return should send Cedric Thornton back to the bench.

Bills DT Marcell Dareus (ankle) was upgraded to a full practice on Thursday.

It all but confirms that he'll be active for Sunday's game in Atlanta. Cedric Thornton started in his place last week against the Broncos.

Bills DT Marcell Dareus (ankle) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday.

The practice puts him on track to return this week after sitting out the win over the Broncos. DT Jerel Worthy (concussion) also looks on track to return after getting in a full practice Wednesday.

Bills DT Marcell Dareus (ankle) is out for Week 3 against the Broncos.

Dareus played through the issue in Week 2, and should have a good shot at missing only one game.

Bills DT Marcell Dareus (ankle) did not practice Thursday.

It is his second missed session in a row, putting his availability for Sunday in serious doubt. DT Jerel Worthy (concussion) is also likely to miss this week's game against the Broncos.

Bills DT Marcell Dareus (ankle) is not practicing Wednesday.

Coach Sean McDermott admitted he's "concerned" Dareus may not be able to play Week 3 against the Broncos. The Bills are already without fellow DT Jerel Worthy, who has been in the concussion protocol for three weeks. Kyle Williams, Adolphus Washington, and Cedric Thornton are available on the interior.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Bills DT Marcell Dareus is in a "make or break" season.

The Bills have already cleaned house, trading Sammy Watkins, Ronald Darby, and Reggie Ragland, and it sounds like Dareus could be the next to go if he does not stay on the straight and narrow. Dareus was removed from the third preseason game for violating a team rule, so he is not getting off to the best start. Dareus is entering the third year of a massive extension which runs through 2021.

Bills DT Marcell Dareus won't face further discipline from the team after being sent home from Saturday's preseason game.

Dareus and coach Sean McDermott have apparently gotten on the same page. Although he doesn't think such a drastic move is on the horizon, reporter Joe Buscaglia doesn't rule out the team eventually "making an example out of" Dareus should he refuse to get on board with McDermott's program. Dareus has a long history of being a headache.

Bills DT Marcell Dareus has been scratched from the third preseason game for violating a team rule.

Dareus was sent home from Baltimore and will be "evaluated for more discipline." The Bills should update Dareus' status after Saturday's game.

Bills DT Marcell Dareus (hamstring) returned to practice Tuesday.

Dareus ended up only missing a couple days. The Bills will likely take it slow as he works his way back, but he is good to go.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports DT Marcell Dareus "tweaked his hamstring and could miss some camp time."

After a lost 2016, the Bills are counting on a bounce-back campaign from their stud defensive tackle. The injury doesn't seem like a long-term concern, but could cost Dareus some preseason reps. Before last season, Dareus had missed only two games in five years.

Bills DC Leslie Frazier said he "couldn’t be happier" with the work DT Marcell Dareus has done this offseason.

"He’s all in," Frazier said, before adding Dareus can be "one of the most dominant interior defensive linemen" in the league if he keeps his head on straight. Injuries and suspension limited Dareus to just eight games last year, but it sounds like he is on track for a bounce back.

Bills DT Marcell Dareus (abdominal) is expected to play Week 13 against the Raiders.

Dareus had been dealing with a groin issue, but he suffered an abdominal strain late against the Jaguars and was held out of the final few series. It does not look like that injury is going to keep him out, but it is just another malady in what has been an injury- and suspension-marred season. Hopefully Dareus can stay on the field the rest of the way.
