Dolphins C Mike Pouncey has yet to allow a sack or quarterback hit in five games this season.
According to Pro Football Focus, only 49ers C Jonathan Goodwin is playing at a higher level this year. Contrary to conventional wisdom, PFF has consistently ranked Mike as a better player than brother Maurkice. "Mike is one hell of a player," said LT Jake Long. "He had a great rookie year and it has even been better this year." Fri, Oct 12, 2012 12:13:00 PM

Dolphins C Mike Pouncey (neck) confirmed he expects to start against the Chiefs Sunday.

Pouncey didn't practice on Wednesday, but his neck injury turned out to be a mere scare. He said he will practice Thursday. "I'm feeling great right now, so I can't wait to get out there." The No. 15 overall pick has established himself as Miami's top interior lineman.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, an MRI of Dolphins C Mike Pouncey’s neck revealed no damage.

Pouncey's body went numb after a scary collision with Giants RE Osi Umenyiora, but he appears to have escaped with only a stinger. Miami's first-round pick has started all seven games this season, and will most likely take the field against the Chiefs in Week 9.

Dolphins C Mike Pouncey missed the majority of the second half Sunday due to a head injury.

Pouncey's body went numb after the hit, so the Dolphins exercised caution. The hope is that it's just a stinger. Pouncey, the No. 15 overall pick this season, has started all seven games for the Dolphins this season.

Dolphins first-round pick C Mike Pouncey has reportedly struggled with the center-to-quarterback exchange so far in camp.

Botched snaps don't matter in practice, but keep in mind that Pouncey also struggled with this issue as a senior at Florida. Many scouts said he should've been an NFL guard because of the problem. The Fins project to field one of the league's poorer offenses this season, and can't afford additional turnovers.

First-round C Mike Pouncey was installed with the starters in his first practice as a Dolphin.

Mike is going down the same path as his brother Maurkice, who started 16 games for the Steelers as a rookie last year. With Richie Incognito and John Jerry next to him at the guard spots, the Dolphins' offensive line has potential.

Dolphins signed No. 15 overall overall pick C Mike Pouncey to a four-year contract.

A league source has told Pro Football Talk the deal is worth roughly $9.2 million. Pouncey is expected to follow in the footsteps of his brother Maurkice and start as a rookie this season.

Multiple sources tell the Palm Beach Post that the Dolphins gave No. 15 pick Mike Pouncey "material pertaining to the Wildcat" in lieu of a playbook after he was drafted.

It sounds like the Fins plan to keep running the Wildcat formation. The Post points out that new OC Brian Daboll ran the Wildcat with Josh Cribbs as Browns offensive coordinator in 2009 and 2010, which also suggests the package will remain a staple of Miami's offense. Fins second-round pick Daniel Thomas and sixth-rounder Charles Clay were used in the Wildcat in college.

The Steelers were reportedly willing to trade up for Mike Pouncey, but no higher than 20th overall.

The need for a guard simply wasn't high enough to move from No. 31 to the middle of the draft. It's unlikely that Pouncey would have slid to 20th even if the Dolphins had passed, so the Pouncey reunion had little chance of happening regardless.

Dolphins first-round pick Mike Pouncey revealed that he did not receive a playbook over the weekend.

Pouncey had enough time to meet with coaches and the media last Thursday and Friday. The lockout was reimplemented last Friday evening, and by that point the Fins hadn't given him a playbook. "I guess we’ll handle the playbook sometime down the line," said Pouncey. It's boneheaded moves like this, combined with Stephen Ross' strategy meddling and futile pursuit of Jim Harbaugh, that worry us about the direction of the Dolphins' organization.

Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland made it clear that Mike Pouncey was drafted to play center, not guard.

Pouncey struggled early after transitioning from guard as a college senior, but Ireland is confident that he improved greatly throughout last season. "They're doing a lot of things with their center that most centers don't do," Ireland said of Florida. Richie Incognito is now expected to stay at left guard with John Jerry and Nate Garner competing at right guard.

Dolphins selected Florida G/C Mike Pouncey with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

Mike can thank his twin brother for paving the way. He's going four spots higher than Maurkice even though he's not as talented or as polished. At the very least, he's a safe pick, though, at a position of great need. Pouncey struggled with snaps last season at Flordia, so look for him to start out at guard with Richie Incognito at center. Pouncey is a tough and powerful run blocker. The upgrade on the interior is good news for the Dolphins' next feature back -- whoever that might be.

Citing "almost everything (he's) heard," Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that the Giants' most likely pick at No. 19 overall is an offensive lineman.

Florida G/C Mike Pouncey is Vacchiano's prediction. Per Vacchiano, USC OT Tyron Smith would be New York's "dream pick" at No. 19, but Smith is almost certainly not going to fall that far. Vacchiano doesn't rule out the possibility of the Giants trading up for Smith, though. For what it's worth (usually a lot), Colorado OT Nate Solder goes to New York in Rick Gosselin's final mock.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ed Bouchette and Steel City Insider's Jim Wexell are both dubious of a report that the Steelers will attempt all reasonable measures to trade up for Florida OG Mike Pouncey.

Wexell just doesn't believe the Steelers would fork over a third- and fifth-rounder for a guard. "Gut tells me Tomlin found a media dupe," adds Wexell. Bouchette has said for some time that the Steelers love Pouncey but realize it will take too much to land him. "Tomlin does not give 'edicts' to the personnel department," Bouchette explained. The Pouncey Bros. reunion is "as nice and fuzzy as Snow White and just as much a fantasy," adds Bouchette.

The National Football Post's Wes Bunting reports some scouts are concerned with Florida G/C Mike Pouncey's knees.

The concern reportedly stems from Pouncey's Combine medical report. Considered one of the draft's safer prospects, there had been no mention of any potential health worries about Pouncey until now. However, this report doesn't sound likely to have a huge effect on his stock, and he remains a good bet to get drafted toward the end of day one.
