Mike Pouncey has informed the Dolphins he wants to return to center in 2015.
Pouncey has been selfless this season moving to right guard in order for the Dolphins to get their best five linemen on the field. Samson Satele has been playing center with Daryn Colledge at left guard. Satele and Colledge are on one-year deals. Shelley Smith was signed to a two-year, $5.5 million contract in March to play guard, but has been a flop and is expected to be released in the spring. Nov 23 - 10:00 AM

The attorney for Mike and Maurkice Pouncey says the brothers won't be charged after being accused of assaulting a man over the summer.

There was an altercation at a Miami nightclub in July at the twins' birthday bash. Mike was believed to be in the clear from the start, but there had been some rumblings the state had enough evidence against Maurkice to pursue misdemeanor charges. This should be the last we hear of the story.

Mike Pouncey would move to center if Samson Satele (hamstring) is unable to play in the Dolphins Week 7 matchup with the Bears.

The Dolphins line played well with Satele at center and Pouncey at guard last week, but the injury may force Miami to make a move. Shelley Smith would slot in at right guard if Satele cannot go.
Oct 18 - 1:28 PM

Dolphins OL Mike Pouncey (hip) is active for Week 6, and starting at right guard.

Samson Satele will remain at center for the time being, sending fill-in guard Shelley Smith to the bench. Inactive for the Dolphins are WR Brandon Gibson, RB Daniel Thomas, DL Deandre Coleman, OG Shelly Smith, OT Jason Fox, OG Billy Turner and TE Gator Hoskins.
Oct 12 - 11:31 AM

Dolphins C/G Mike Pouncey (hip) is expected back in Week 6 against Green Bay.

The Dolphins played their cards right with Pouncey, resting him in Week 4 and getting the win over Oakland, before using their Week 5 bye to ensure Pouncey returns at full health. Pouncey is tentatively expected to take over at right guard, upgrading on struggling Dallas Thomas. Miami's offensive line is suddenly looking formidable and has depth. They should get RG Shelley Smith (knee) back soon, which would allow Pouncey to upgrade on Samson Satele at center.
Oct 6 - 3:56 PM

Dolphins C/G Mike Pouncey (hip) is expected to make his 2014 debut in Sunday's game against the Packers.

It's unclear if Pouncey will play guard or center. Pouncey has made it clear he's willing to shift to guard, which would leave Samson Satele in the middle. To date, all 46 of Pouncey's career appearances have come at center.
Oct 6 - 3:34 PM

Dolphins C/G Mike Pouncey (hip) is listed as doubtful for Week 4.

Samson Satele will get at least one more start at center, although Pouncey may return as the Dolphins' starting right guard, replacing struggling Dallas Thomas. The Fins will make that decision during their Week 5 bye.
Sep 26 - 1:09 PM

The Miami Herald suggests Mike Pouncey (hip) could be moved to guard.

Pouncey practiced on a limited basis this week, but is not going to play in Sunday's game. He's a candidate to move to right guard when healthy, which would give Miami its best offensive line combination. Pouncey is on track to return in Week 4.
Sep 20 - 7:16 PM

Mike Pouncey (hip) returned to Dolphins practice on Tuesday.

It's Pouncey's first practice since he went down in OTAs. He'll likely be listed as "limited," but it's a huge step in the right direction. Pouncey is unlikely to suit up for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, but has been targeting a Week 4 return since August. If Pouncey isn't quite right next week, the Dolphins could elect to hold him out until after their Week 5 bye.
Sep 16 - 2:14 PM

Dolphins declared C Mike Pouncey, LB Philip Wheeler, LB Jordan Tripp, DL Bruce Gaston, OT Jason Fox, OG Billy Turner and DE Terrence Fede inactive for Week 1 against the Patriots.

Miami enters Week 1 healthy at the skill positions. Recovering from hip surgery, Pouncey is targeting a Week 4 return.
Sep 7 - 11:51 AM

ESPN Dolphins reporter James Walker reports C Mike Pouncey (hip) will avoid the reserve/PUP list to start the season.

Pouncey would have been forced to miss the first six games of the season if the Dolphins placed him on the PUP list. Avoiding the list means he will be allowed to practice with the team, and he's hinted he's targeting Week 4. Samson Satele will fill in at center while Pouncey is out.
Aug 30 - 3:25 PM

The Dolphins are "strongly considering" not putting Mike Pouncey (hip) on the reserve/PUP list with the hope he can play in late September.

Pouncey is targeting Week 4 for his return. The Dolphins are "encouraged by his progress," but have yet to make a decision on his status. By not placing Pouncey on PUP, he would be allowed to practice with the team and not have to miss the first six games. The Dolphins would be taking a risk by using a roster spot on him. Pouncey is two months removed from hip surgery.
Aug 26 - 10:48 PM

Updating a previous item, Dolphins C Mike Pouncey (hip) remains on the active/PUP list.

We misinterpreted Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald's tweet earlier on Tuesday. Pouncey was simply in attendance at practice; he's still in the rehab phase of his recovery from hip surgery. He remains a strong candidate to begin the year on reserve/PUP, which would force Pouncey to miss the first six games.
Aug 26 - 11:50 AM

Dolphins C Mike Pouncey (hip surgery) said he's targeting Week 4 for his return.

The Dolphins have a bye in Week 5, so rushing back for Week 4 wouldn't make a lot of sense. Still, the vibe on Pouncey's rehab has been very positive and it sounds like he has a legit chance to avoid reserve/PUP -- something that would cost him the first six games. This remade Dolphins offensive line will get a big boost when their pivot man returns.
Aug 18 - 4:15 PM

Dolphins C Mike Pouncey (hip surgery) admits he could begin the regular season on the reserve/PUP list.

"We had a couple discussions about it," Pouncey said of the PUP, which would cost him six games. "I’m just letting them make the decision. I hope I’m not on PUP, but it’s not up to me. I want to play." Pouncey said there's "no question" he could be available sometime in the first six games, but declined to guess when. The Miami Herald reports the Dolphins have "privately" been encouraged by Pouncey's progress. Regardless, he's unlikely to see the field before October.
