ESPN Bears reporter Jeff Dickerson expects Jacquizz Rodgers to be involved in the backfield competition.
Sophomore Jeremy Langford is tentatively expected to be the starter following the departure of Matt Forte, but he will face competition from rookie Jordan Howard, Ka'Deem Carey and apparently Rodgers, who Dickerson says 'impressed' last season before landing on injured reserve with a broken arm. Rodgers might be able to carve out a small passing-game role, but the bulk of the work will come down to Langford, Howard and Carey. May 24 - 9:40 AM

Bears re-signed RB Jacquizz Rodgers.

Rodgers saw just 41 snaps last year before going on injured reserve with a broken arm. He might take on a slightly bigger role next year with Matt Forte out of the picture but he's still a distant third on the depth chart behind Jeremy Langford and Ka'Deem Carey.

Bears placed RB Jacquizz Rodgers on injured reserve with a broken arm, ending his season.

Rodgers had touched the ball 15 times for 51 yards this season, but played only 41 snaps. His loss thrusts rookie Jeremy Langford into clear-cut No. 2 status. Antone Smith has been signed for insurance. Rodgers has been in the league since 2011, but is still only 25. He's headed back to free agency in the offseason.

Jacquizz Rodgers rushed seven times for 33 yards in the Bears' preseason opener against the Dolphins.

Rodgers started the game with Matt Forte resting and largely played ahead of fourth-round pick Jeremy Langford, though Langford did mix in some with the Jay Cutler group. Based on preseason usage, the Bears' current running back depth chart reads: 1. Forte. 2. Rodgers. 3. Langford. 4. Ka'Deem Carey.

Jacquizz Rodgers plans to play 8-10 pounds lighter this season.

"I'm focused on cutting weight, becoming more quicker, working on my speed," Rodgers said Wednesday, one day after signing with the Bears. It's a good idea, as Quizz has shown very little burst during his career despite standing at 5-foot-6. He'll fight with Ka'Deem Carey for a role behind Matt Forte.

Bears signed RB Jacquizz Rodgers, formerly of the Falcons, to a one-year contract.

A four-year veteran, Rodgers owns a lousy 3.65 YPC for his career, but has caught 155 passes in 63 games. He also holds his own as a blocker despite standing in at just 5-foot-6, 196 pounds. Rodgers will start out as the No. 3 back behind Matt Forte and Ka'Deem Carey, but could carve out a role in the Bears' passing game. He's unlikely to hold any value in PPR leagues.

Free agent RB Jacquizz Rodgers is visiting the Bears.

Rodgers can't provide much as a runner (career 3.65 YPC on 305 carries), but can protect and catch the ball out of the backfield. The Bears are looking for some depth behind Matt Forte and Ka'Deem Carey.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports free agent RB Jacquizz Rodgers will be allowed to test the market.

Rodgers is a solid pass blocker and has a decent set of hands, but he has struggled as a runner throughout his four-year career. He will find little if any guaranteed money on the open market.

Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for 44 yards on nine carries in the Falcons' Week 17 loss to the Panthers, adding three catches for 19 yards.

Rodgers got the start in place of an injured Steven Jackson (quad) and split touches with Devonta Freeman. The diminutive Rodgers wraps up his fourth season with 58 carries for 217 yards (3.74 YPC) and one touchdown on the ground to go with a 31-241-1 receiving line. A free agent in March, Rodgers is unlikely to find much, if any, guaranteed money. He's an unproductive COP back but can at least catch the ball and pick up the blitz.

Jacquizz Rodgers is expected to be the Falcons' starting running back in Week 17 against the Panthers.

Devonta Freeman will rotate in. Rodgers is a superior pass protector and will likely play more snaps than Freeman, just as he did following Steven Jackson's Week 16 injury. Freeman possesses more upside, but "Quizz" may be a better bet for usage. The situation is a tricky one to navigate in Week 17 fantasy leagues. Rodgers is priced cheaper on daily sites than Freeman.

Jacquizz Rodgers rushed 11 times for 29 yards Week 16 against the Saints.

Rodgers got an extended run out with Steven Jackson sidelined by a quad injury late in the first half. Rodgers ran hard as he always does, but there is simply not enough talent in his legs to be a feature back. Devonta Freeman will be the Falcons' best bet to move the ball if Jackson is forced to miss Week 17 against Carolina, but Rodgers will likely lead the backfield in touches.

Jacquizz Rodgers rushed four times for seven yards and caught three passes for 18 yards in Sunday's Week 13 win over the Cardinals.

The Falcons continue to insist on giving Rodgers reps instead of unleashing Devonta Freeman as the unquestioned backup to Steven Jackson. Rodgers is now averaging 3.66 YPC on the season.

Jacquizz Rodgers rushed three times for 16 yards in Atlanta's Week 12 loss to the Browns, adding three catches for 11 yards and a touchdown.

The six touches were Rodgers' most since Week 3. Rodgers' workload should see a tiny bump in the absence of Antone Smith (leg, injured reserve), but he remains miles from fantasy relevance.
Sun, Nov 23, 2014 05:27:00 PM

Jacquizz Rodgers caught three passes for 28 yards and rushed once for two yards against the Lions Week 8.

Rodgers did not play on the first drive of the game, but saw about the same number of snaps as Davonte Freeman the rest of the game. Rodgers will see an expanded role if Anonte Smith (neck) is forced to miss time, but has no value in Atlanta's four-headed backfield. Through eight games Rodgers is on pace for 340 total yards and two touchdowns.

Jacquizz Rodgers rushed twice for nine yards and caught a pass for three yards in Atlanta's Week 7 loss to Baltimore.

The rotational change-of-pace back carries no re-draft fantasy value.
