The Redskins are not expected pursue restricted free agent S Will Hill.
Washington has a need at safety after losing Ryan Clark and Brandon Meriweather. Hill would be an obvious upgrade, but is likely to require a multi-year deal to sign away from the Ravens. Baltimore only gave Hill an original pick tender, and won't receive any compensation if he signs elsewhere. Mar 21 - 5:32 PM

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley believes RFA Will Hill is locked in as one of Baltimore's starting safeties.

If true, Baltimore is playing a dangerous game by only offering Hill an original pick tender. Hill has a long history of off-field problems, but in a depleted safety free agent market and draft, it is not unthinkable a team takes a shot on Hill's indisputable upside. Hill was suspended the first six games of last season, his third suspension since entering the league in 2012.

Ravens extended restricted free agent FS Will Hill an original pick tender.

25-year-old Hill is one of the best young safeties in the league. By giving him the lowest possible tender, the Ravens are gambling that Hill's lengthy history of off-field problems will keep potential suitors away. The original pick tender is worth just over $1.5 million. Hill is a good bet to stay put in Baltimore.

Ravens FS Will Hill has a warrant out for his arrest in New Jersey for failure to pay his child support.

It's not the worst crime in the world as long as Hill pays the $16,588 he owes, but any trouble is bad trouble for Hill, who has been battling off-field issues since entering the league. Hill needs to keep his nose clean. He's long on talent but has proven to be short on common sense. The Ravens are aware of the issue.

Coach John Harbaugh says the Ravens are "challenging" FS Will Hill this offseason.

"Are you going to come back a better player than you were when you left here in January, and is that slate going to be clean?" That was Harbaugh's rhetorical question of a safety who has had a host of off-the-field issues. Suspended for the first six games of the season, Hill was a standout upon his return. Hill has consistently shined between his NFL bans. A restricted free agent, Hill could really cash in next offseason if he can keep his head on straight in 2015.

Ravens activated suspended S Will Hill.

Hill served a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy. Hill has been suspended three times since entering the league in 2012, but has been a stand-out safety when on the field. He should quickly push starting FS Darian Stewart for playing time. DT Christo Bilukidi (ankle) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move.

Ravens S Will Hill could receive a reduced suspension.

Hill is currently one game into his six-game suspension for substance abuse. With the NFLPA agreeing to a new drug policy, he could be reinstated before Week 7. Hill should push FS Darian Stewart for snaps whenever he returns.

Ravens signed suspended S Will Hill, formerly of the Giants.

GM Ozzie Newsome may be getting a steal here. Hill, 24, was one of the better safeties in the league last season, racking up 77 tackles, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles as a ten-game starter. However, he was slapped with a six-game suspension for violating the substance-abuse policy. It's his third suspension since entering the league. Hill will be eligible to return in Week 7. He should then push Darian Stewart for the starting free safety job.

Free agent S Will Hill has signed with the Arena League's Arizona Rattlers.

Hill was suspended six games for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy last week, and was waived by the Giants on Monday. He'll stay fresh in the Arena League until he's able to return to the NFL in Week 7. Despite all the off-field issues, we'd be surprised if Hill's NFL career is over. He's 24 years old.

Former Giants S Will Hill passed through waivers unclaimed.

That's despite a bargain-basement $570,000 salary. Suspended for the first six games of the season, Hill's ability should earn him a deal once his ban is through.

Giants waived S Will Hill.

As beat writer Jordan Raanan notes, the Giants simply can't trust Hill to make the right decisions. He's been suspended three times since entering the league in 2012, including a six-game ban this year for another violation of the substance abuse policy. They'll roll with Stevie Brown at free safety and Antrel Rolle at strong safety. Hill's very significant on-field ability will make him a worthwhile risk for a team just in case he ever gets his head on straight. He was Pro Football Focus' No. 2 overall safety last season.

The Giants "may not welcome back" S Will Hill after his six-game suspension.

Hill has been suspended three times since entering the league in 2012. The New York Post's Paul Schwartz believes "it's almost definite" this third strike will be his last one with the Giants. Hill is an impact safety when on the field and could provide a starting option in Week 7 if the Giants decide to keep him. Stevie Brown is set to replace Hill at free safety opposite Antrel Rolle.

NFL suspended Giants S Will Hill six games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Hill tried appealing the ban, but came up short and he'll be sidelined until Week 7. Hill has now been suspended three times since being signed by the Giants as a UDFA out of Florida in 2012. A high-impact performer when available for games, 24-year-old Hill graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 2 overall safety in 2013, behind only Devin McCourty. The Giants will enter Week 1 with Stevie Brown starting at free safety, and Antrel Rolle on the strong side.

The Newark Star-Ledger thinks S Will Hill "looks like a goner" from the Giants.

It was recently announced that Hill failed yet another drug test -- his third in three seasons -- and is facing a lengthy suspension. Even though Hill has proven to be extremely talented, he's not worth the headache. The Giants had plenty of safety depth even before drafting Nat Berhe over the weekend.

The New York Daily News reports FS Will Hill is likely "done" with the Giants after failing another drug test.

Hill is facing a lengthy suspension, one that could cost him 6-8 games or an entire calendar year. It'll be Hill's third suspension in as many seasons, though he does plan to appeal. Whether he wins that appeal or not isn't expected to matter in terms of saving his job with the Giants. The team is reportedly "livid" at Hill's continued drug issues. He was PFF's No. 2 overall safety in 2013.
