Jaguars signed RB Delone Carter.

It's the latest sign that Maurice Jones-Drew (hamstring) is extremely questionable for Week 15. Carter is a 5'9/222 power back that flamed out with the Colts and was then dumped by the Ravens after training camp. He'll be depth behind Jordan Todman and Denard Robinson if MJD can't go against the Bills Sunday.

Free agent RB Delone Carter is working out for the Titans Tuesday.

Carter fell out of favor in Indy and then got waived by the Ravens at final cuts. It's questionable if he'd be an upgrade on Jackie Battle. Shonn Greene (knee) remains sidelined.

Ravens waived/released RB Delone Carter, QB Caleb Hanie, QB Dayne Crist, LB Brandon Copeland, OT Jordan Devey, OT Rogers Gaines and G/C Reggie Stephens.

Carter seemed to have a shot at a roster spot after the Ravens waived Anthony Allen, but it appears they'll instead go with Bobby Rainey behind Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce. Acquired just nine days ago from the Colts, Carter was extremely unimpressive in Thursday's preseason finale against the Rams, ending up with just one yard on eight carries. Hanie hasn't appeared in a game since 2011.

Ravens acquired RB Delone Carter from the Colts in exchange for WR David Reed.

A straight-line plodder, Carter had fallen out of favor in Indy. He won't be higher than third on the depth chart in Baltimore, though his acquisition could signal trouble for Anthony Allen. Carter has just 10 carries for 27 yards this preseason, while Allen has taken the rock 10 times for 38 yards. Carter has averaged just 3.8 yards over his first 133 career carries.

An Onondaga County Supreme Court jury ordered Colts RB Delone Carter to pay a man he punched in the face $40,000.

In 2010, while playing for Syracuse, Carter punched William "Jay" Hotaling after he thought Hotaling had thrown a snowball at the SUV Carter had been driving. Surveillance later showed that Hotaling didn't toss the snowball, and Carter eventually admitted to punching him. Hotaling suffered multiple facial fractures, and Carter was also ordered to pay the medical expenses.

ESPN's Paul Kuharsky says Delone Carter and Donald Brown will battle for just one roster spot at training camp.

Ahmad Bradshaw and Vick Ballard will be the primary ball-carriers, and seventh-round burner Kerwynn Williams is expected to return kicks. That leaves Brown, the disappointing former first-round pick, and Carter, a sluggish power back with a career 3.75 YPC average. We'd give the edge to Brown heading into camp. He simply has more natural talent.

Delone Carter recently underwent shoulder surgery.

Carter tumbled down the depth chart last season, getting just 32 carries in 10 games before an ankle injury landed him on the inactive list. The extent of this surgery is unclear, but he won't have a good shot at carries this year either. Both Vick Ballard and Donald Brown are back.

Coach Chuck Pagano stressed that Delone Carter needs to stay healthy.

Carter missed spring workouts last year due to a thumb injury and then was inactive for six regular-season games with various ankle woes. At best, he'll be a short-yardage option for the Colts this year at 5'9/225. Vick Ballard and Donald Brown are the Colts' top-two backs.

Delone Carter (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's Wild Card Round playoff game against the Ravens.

Vick Ballard will handle a full load in the Indianapolis backfield. Carter hasn't played since suffering the ankle injury in Week 14 against the Titans. The rest of the Colts' inactives are: WR Nathan Palmer, CB Teddy Williams, S Delano Howell, DT Kellen Heard, LG Joe Reitz, and OL Tony Hills. Jeff Linkenbach will start at left guard.

Delone Carter (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's Wild Card game against the Ravens.

Carter was downgraded to a limited practice Friday, but is on track to return for the first time since Week 14. If active, he'll be used as a short-yardage specialist behind Vick Ballard, with Mewelde Moore relegated to special teams.

Carter now appears to be on track for Sunday's game at Baltimore after missing nearly a month. His return could fewer goal-line opportunities for Vick Ballard, as Carter was the short-yardage hammer before the injury.

Carter hasn't played since he scored a one-yard touchdown in Week 14 against the Titans. Indy's No. 2 back rushed for 122 yards and three scores in the regular season. He could see a couple short-yardage looks on Sunday if he plays.

Carter is out with an ankle injury, so Vick Ballard will handle goal-line work after Mewelde Moore's Week 15 one-yard-line fumbleroosky. The Colts are again short two key offensive linemen in center Satele and right tackle Justice.
