Colts LT Anthony Castonzo is "week to week" with an MCL sprain.

Castonzo is one of Indy's few decent offensive linemen. Head coach Chuck Pagano's description of him as "week to week" as opposed to "day to day" suggests Castonzo won't be playing this week against the Buccaneers.

Colts signed LT Anthony Castonzo to a four-year, $42 million contract extension through 2019.

According to's Ian Rapoport, the extension will pay Castonzo $35 million over the first three years. He received PFF's 12th highest tackle grade last season out of 84 qualifiers. Andrew Luck must be thrilled to have his personal body guard on board for another four seasons. Castonzo would have hit free agency in 2016 had a deal not been reached.

The Indianapolis Star's Stephen Holder said he has the "sense" the Colts and LT Anthony Castonzo "aren't close in contract talks."

Colts GM Ryan Grigson said the team is in "active negotiations" with the contract-year left tackle, but those negotiations do not appear to be going anywhere. Holder confirmed the Colts view Castonzo as a "keeper," but his asking price may be too high right now. Costanzo is set to make $7.4 million this season in the fifth-year option of his rookie deal.

LT Anthony Castonzo confirmed he's in the midst of extension negotiations with the Colts.

Castonzo is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Castonzo will command at least $7 million in average annual salary.

Colts LT Anthony Castonzo is expected to command $9 million to $10 million annually on his next contract.

The 22nd overall pick in the 2011 draft, Castonzo is entering the final season of his contract. He is one of only a few effective Colts linemen; Andrew Luck's pocket mobility and toughness routinely mask Indy's protection flaws. Castonzo turns 28 early next month. He is owed $7.438 million this year.

The Colts see Anthony Castonzo as their long-term left tackle.

It's notable as Castonzo is slated to play out this season on a fifth-year option worth $7.438 million. If a long-term deal doesn't get done, he'll be an unrestricted free agent in 2016. Castonzo has started on the blind side for every game of Andrew Luck's NFL career and is coming off a top-12 season in PFF's tackle grades.

The No. 22 overall pick of the 2011 draft, Castonzo has started all 16 games each of the past two years. He's been a solid, if far from dominant, protector on Andrew Luck's blindside.

Castonzo's sprain is considered mild and the Colts are hopeful he'll be back for Week 1. In the meantime, they'll start Joe Reitz at left tackle in the preseason finale. Castonzo was ProFootballFocus' No. 32 overall tackle last season, but was 62nd in terms of pass blocking. Andrew Luck took 41 sacks in 2012 -- only Aaron Rodgers (51), Philip Rivers (49) and Andy Dalton (46) took more.
