Vincent Brown caught 3-of-4 targets for 22 yards in Oakland's Week 4 loss to the Dolphins.
Brown had a role in the offense with Rod Streater (foot) sidelined. One of his "grabs" was a clear fumble where he was ruled down by contact. The play wasn't reviewed. Brown has no fantasy value in the Black Hole. Sep 28 - 6:37 PM

Raiders signed WR Vincent Brown to a one-year contract.

It's a sign the Raiders expect de facto No. 1 receiver Rod Streater (hip flexor) to miss time. A 2011 third-round pick of the Chargers, Brown appeared to have a bright future ahead of him before breaking his ankle in 2012. He wasn't the same in 2013, and couldn't survive final cuts this summer. Brown moved like a tight end last season, which is a problem since he's 5-foot-11, 190 pounds. He's an inoffensive flier for a team as talent-deficient as the Raiders, but he's not going to make an impact on the football field.

Free agent WR Vincent Brown is working out for the Raiders Monday.

Rod Streater left Sunday's loss with a hip flexor injury. Brown, who was waived by the Chargers prior to Week 1, proved he isn't a serviceable NFL wideout last year while filling in for Malcom Floyd.

ESPN's Adam Caplan reports free agent WR Vincent Brown has drawn interest from at least eight teams, and will begin working out for clubs next week.

Brown was waived by the Chargers with an injury settlement on Saturday. He hasn't practiced since late July due to a calf injury. Brown, 25, caught 19 balls for 329 yards and two scores as a 2011 rookie, but broke his ankle in 2012 and didn't look nearly the same athletically when posting a 41-472-1 line last season for the Chargers. The former third-rounder profiles as a Z receiver at 5'11/190.

Chargers released WR Vincent Brown with an injury settlement.

Brown hasn't practiced since late July, but is reportedly healthy. He was waived/injured reserved last week and is now free to sign with any team.
Sep 6 - 4:45 PM

The Chargers are expected to release WR Vincent Brown (calf, injured reserve) with an injury settlement this week.

Brown was waived/injured on Saturday after missing the vast majority of camp with a calf issue. The fact that he went unclaimed on waivers is a sign he won't be greeted by a hot market following his disappointing 2013.

Chargers waive/injured WR Vincent Brown.

Brown hasn't practiced since July 25, but is reportedly near full health. The Union-Tribune San Diego reports Brown "won't be on the Chargers' 53-man roster," so it sounds like he could end up getting released with an injury settlement. The No. 82 overall pick of the 2011 draft, Brown was an exciting prospect after catching 19 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie, but was never the same after missing all of 2012 with a broken ankle. Brown moved like a tight end last season as he limped to a 41/472/1 line across 16 games.
Aug 30 - 12:58 PM

Vincent Brown (calf) hasn't practiced since July 25.

We'd guess his roster spot is in danger. Injuries have completely eroded Brown's once promising Dynasty-league upside.
Aug 18 - 1:43 PM

The Union-Tribune San Diego suggests WR Vincent Brown's roster spot could be "tenuous."

Brown has missed most of camp with a calf injury and won't play in San Diego's second preseason game. Keenan Allen, Malcom Floyd, and Eddie Royal are locks. Brown could fall behind Dontrelle Inman, Seyi Ajirotutu, and Tevin Reese.
Aug 10 - 8:38 PM

Vincent Brown has been sidelined for the Chargers' past five practices with a calf injury, and was spotted wearing a protective boot on Thursday.

Here we go again. This is the third time in four years that has Brown has missed serious camp time with a leg injury. Brown appeared in all 16 games last year, but wasn't the same player he was as a rookie in 2011 after missing all of 2012 with a broken ankle. A lengthy absence could imperil Brown's 53-man roster odds.
Jul 31 - 6:52 PM

Vincent Brown is likely to be the Chargers' No. 4 receiver this year.

As beat writer Michael Gehlken notes, Brown "can play any wide receiver spot" in San Diego's offense. He's likely to serve as a utilityman behind "Z" receiver Keenan Allen, "X" Malcom Floyd, and slot man Eddie Royal. Brown flopped in a chance at a major role last season. His Dynasty league value is minimal.
Jun 6 - 12:32 AM

Vincent Brown was held catch-less for the second straight playoff game in Sunday's Divisional Round loss at Denver.

Demoted late in the season in favor of Eddie Royal, Brown didn't appear to play many snaps. He did get flagged for a third-quarter pick and quickly retreated to the sideline. Brown was a major disappointment in his first healthy NFL campaign, losing the confidence of Philip Rivers and ultimately his starting job. We don't believe Brown will be guaranteed a 2014 roster spot.
Jan 12 - 8:12 PM

Vincent Brown was held catch-less in the Wild Card round.

Brown has faceplanted in his first fully-healthy NFL season, playing poorly throughout 2013 and ultimately losing his starting job to Eddie Royal. It would be a surprise if Brown made any impact on San Diego's postseason run.
Jan 5 - 4:48 PM

Vincent Brown was held catch-less on one target in San Diego's Week 17 overtime win over Kansas City.

Brown's 2013 season was his first ever as a fully healthy player, but highly disappointing. Philip Rivers showed little confidence in the former third-round draft pick due to blown routes and inconsistent physicality. Because Brown lacks blazing speed and explosiveness, he needs to be a receiver who wins contested passes. And he didn't do that enough in 2013, getting severely outplayed by Keenan Allen. Brown finishes with a 41-471-1 line in 16 games, starting 13. The Chargers may look to upgrade on him in 2014.

Vincent Brown had two catches for 38 yards in Sunday's Week 16 win over the Raiders.

He was targeted five times in the passing game. Brown drew a pass interference call that set up a four-yard touchdown to Keenan Allen in the third quarter and nearly had a 30-yard catch down the left sideline but couldn't stay in bounds. He hasn't been a factor as the Chargers' No. 2 wideout this season and will enter Week 17 with just 41 catches, 472 yards, and one touchdown.
