The Tampa Bay Times believes the Bucs have "a lot of confidence" in third-year TE Luke Stocker.
Stocker, a fourth-round pick out of Tennessee, has just 28 catches for 257 yards and a touchdown across his first 30 career games. The 6-foot-5, 253-pound tight end ended the season on a high note with three catches for 50 yards in the Week 17 finale last season, and he is currently penciled in as the starter. Dallas Clark is a free agent, and he is not expected to be re-signed. May 1 - 8:38 PM

The Tampa Bay Times tentatively projects Luke Stocker as the Bucs' starting tight end.

The Bucs have not shown any inclination to bring back free agent Dallas Clark yet. That leaves them with Stocker and Tom Crabtree, two plodders that haven't put much more than blocking on tape throughout their careers. Perhaps the Bucs will add some speed to their tight end room via the draft.

Bucs TE Luke Stocker missed the team's second preseason game with a head injury.

The Bucs aren't saying whether Stocker was concussed, but he's been medically cleared and will return to practice on Monday. Stocker had one catch for 14 yards in the preseason opener. We believe he will help the Buccaneers' offense as a do-it-all tight end this season, but will struggle for any fantasy impact.

The Tampa Bay Times doesn't believe Luke Stocker will play a major role as a receiver this season.

In new coordinator Mike Sullivan's scheme, the priority is going to be the run game. "Certainly that's a point we hope he can get to, to hold that point of attack," tight ends coach Brian Angelichio said. On passing downs, Dallas Clark figures to be the primary tight end.

Bucs GM Mark Dominik described second-year TE Luke Stocker as an "every-down tight end" in his Monday announcement of the Kellen Winslow trade.

The announcement also confirmed the acquisition of Dallas Clark, who figures to play second fiddle to the more well-rounded Stocker. Stocker will be the Bucs' in-line tight end, often staying in to block. Clark will enter the game on obvious passing downs. We don't expect either player to be a major fantasy factor.

Bucs TE Luke Stocker left Sunday's Week 17 game against the Falcons with an elbow injury and will not return.

Stocker's rookie season ends with 12 catches for 92 yards and no touchdowns in 14 games. With Kellen Winslow under contract and surprisingly healthy throughout this year, Stocker holds little upside.

Buccaneers No. 2 TE Luke Stocker is "week to week" with a knee injury.

Stocker will miss this week's game against the 49ers, and they'll play it by ear from there. The fourth-rounder out of Tennessee has caught five passes for 59 yards in four games this season. Zack Pianalto and Collin Franklin are next on the depth chart behind Kellen Winslow.

Rookie Luke Stocker has "has nailed down the opportunity to start opposite" Kellen Winslow in two-tight end sets.

Stocker has picked up blocking schemes and assignments at an impressive rate after missing the early portion of camp with a hip injury. Beat writer Roy Cummings believes Stocker's presence will allow the Bucs to move Winslow around more to exploit mismatches, especially in the red zone.

Bucs TE Luke Stocker (hip) returned to practice on Sunday.

The fourth-round pick had been sidelined since July 29. As long as the Bucs don't think he's missed too much practice time, Stocker should open the season as Kellen Winslow's primary backup.

Bucs rookie TE Luke Stocker (hip) may be able to play in Thursday's second preseason game.

Stocker has been sidelined since the outset of camp. He was running routes and catching passes in Monday's walkthrough, a sign that he's nearing full strength. The rookie projects as Kellen Winslow's direct backup.

Bucs fourth-round TE Luke Stocker will be out at least two weeks due to a hip injury.

It's a setback for the heir-apparent to Kellen Winslow. After missing the entire offseason program due to the lockout, he now misses valuable camp time because of injury.

The Bucs are "concerned" about a hip injury suffered by rookie TE Luke Stocker in Friday's practice.

Details are scant, but it sounds like he'll need an MRI at the least. Stocker was the 104th overall pick in April's draft. Reached by reporters Saturday, Stocker referred to his injury status as "week to week," which doesnt' sound great.

Bucs signed fourth-round TE Luke Stocker to a four-year contract.

Stocker is the heir-apparent to Kellen Winslow. He may see some time on the field with Winslow as a rookie, but his real role would come if Winslow's shaky knees act up. Stocker's progress is worth monitoring in deep Dynasty leagues.

Coach Raheem Morris said that he envisions using No. 104 overall pick Luke Stocker and Kellen Winslow on the field together in two-tight end sets.

Stocker has solid pass-catching ability, but can block as an in-line tight end as well. He'll start off with a situational role, but projects to have a significant role in the event of a Winslow injury. Considering Winslow's history of knee trouble, that's certainly possible.

Bucs HC Raheem Morris thinks fourth-round pick TE Luke Stocker could have been graded as a late first-round talent.

"When you get a Luke Stocker in the fourth round, when you could easily give him the grade of a second-round pick or arguably a late first, that is a phenomenal day," he said. Morris envisions Stocker as more of an "in-line" tight end than Kellen Winslow. As a probable heir apparent to Winslow, he's worth monitoring in dynasty leagues.
