Coach John Harbaugh did say in March that Smith was ahead of schedule in his rehab. With Smith, Brandon Carr, and sophomore Marlon Humphrey, Baltimore has a solid cornerback trio.

NFL suspended Ravens CB Jimmy Smith four games for violating the policy on performance enhancing drugs.

It is actually good timing for Smith, who was just lost for the season to a torn Achilles. He will serve his suspension while on injured reserve and be eligible to play at the start of next season. First-rounder Marlon Humphrey should take over for Smith in the starting lineup.

Ravens CB Jimmy Smith has been diagnosed with a torn Achilles' tendon and is done for the season.

This is a massive loss for the Ravens as Smith has not allowed a touchdown in coverage all season long per Pro Football Focus. Smith will now have a portion of his 2018 season compromised with the injury. First-round draft pick Marlon Humphrey had been beginning to press Brandon Carr for playing time, but will now take over for Smith as the starting right cornerback.

Ravens CB Jimmy Smith suffered an Achilles' injury and has been declared out against the Lions.

Smith has been playing through an Achilles' issue for much of the season. Today, he suffered the non-contact injury in the second quarter and immediately went down grabbing his left foot. After ending 2016 on injured reserve with an ankle injury, Smith bounced back and was having a great season, not allowing a touchdown pass in his coverage all year.

Ravens CB Jimmy Smith (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 16 against the Steelers.

The Ravens are going to have a hard time slowing down Antonio Brown without their top corner. They'll turn to Shareece Wright across from rookie Tavon Young, with Jerraud Powers in the slot. It's a pass-funnel situation for Ben Roethlisberger and a potential Week 16 eruption game for A.B. Smith was in a walking boot on Friday and is dealing with a severe high ankle sprain.

Ravens CB Jimmy Smith was seen wearing a protective boot on his sprained ankle.

Ravens CB Jimmy Smith (ankle) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

Ravens CB Jimmy Smith (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

The Ravens did not really feel the effects of Smith's absence against an Eagles offense which lacks talent on the outside, but he would be a big loss this week against the Steelers. Antonio Brown is a high-end WR1 every week, but his matchup will improve dramatically if Smith is not able to play.
