Ravens signed G Will Rackley, formerly of the Jaguars.

Rackley has 25 games of starting experience, though he was mostly manhandled in those contests. His most natural fit is at guard. The Ravens are searching for an answer at right tackle. The Baltimore Sun wonders if Rackley could slot in at left guard, giving the Ravens the option to move LG Kelechi Osemele to right tackle. Rick Wagner is currently penciled in at right tackle.

Jaguars released G Will Rackley.

A 2011 third-round pick and one of ex-GM Gene Smith's many draft misses, Rackley was a disaster in 11 starts at left guard last season. The Jags need his roster spot as they bring in third-round G/T Brandon Linder and a host of UDFAs.

Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell said the team only sees LG Will Rackley as a "swing guy."

Rackley, the 76th pick in the 2011 draft, has started 25-of-26 games he's appeared in at left guard but was thoroughly destroyed both as a run and pass blocker this past season. Caldwell says the team has given him some looks at center in practice, so he could be potential interior line depth. The Florida Times-Union considers left guard and center major areas of need for the Jaguars.

Jaguars placed LG Will Rackley (concussion) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Rackley suffered his second concussion of the season last week. He was reportedly dealing with a "severe" headache on Saturday morning. The effects of Rackley's first concussion lingered for weeks. It's a scary situation for the third-year pro, who has graded out near the bottom of Pro Football Focus' guard ratings. Rackley's backup is Mike Brewster, but he's also been sent to injured reserve. Jacques McClendon should get the start in Week 16.

It's a sigh of relief for the Jags. On the first play of Saturday's preseason game against the Eagles, Rackley got rolled up on and went down in a heap. Will Rackley practiced at the Jaguars' starting left guard during pre-draft minicamp.

The 76th pick in the 2011 draft, Rackley struggled mightily as a rookie before missing all of 2012 with a high ankle sprain that required surgery. "He’s done a really good job," new coach Gus Bradley said of Rackley after the minicamp. Rackley is penciled in -- very lightly -- as the starter next to Eugene Monroe.

A source tells the Times Union that the Jaguars are "comfortable" giving Will Rackley a shot at winning the starting left guard job.

Rackley missed the entire 2012 season due to a high-ankle sprain. And as a rookie in 2011, he graded out as one of the game's worst guards while starting 14 games. The Jags would do well to bring in some serious competition.
