Will Rackley practiced at the Jaguars' starting left guard during pre-draft minicamp.
The 76th pick in the 2011 draft, Rackley struggled mightily as a rookie before missing all of 2012 with a high ankle sprain that required surgery. "He’s done a really good job," new coach Gus Bradley said of Rackley after the minicamp. Rackley is penciled in -- very lightly -- as the starter next to Eugene Monroe. Apr 19 - 8:12 PM

A source tells the Times Union that the Jaguars are "comfortable" giving Will Rackley a shot at winning the starting left guard job.

Rackley missed the entire 2012 season due to a high-ankle sprain. And as a rookie in 2011, he graded out as one of the game's worst guards while starting 14 games. The Jags would do well to bring in some serious competition.

Jaguars placed LG Will Rackley (ankle) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Rackley recently suffered a setback in his return from a high-ankle sprain. The Jaguars may be better off without him, as Eben Britton has moved inside with pleasant surprise Cameron Bradfield holding down right tackle. A third-round pick in the 2011 draft, Rackley will return in 2013 to compete for a job.

Jaguars LG Will Rackley suffered a setback in his recovery from a high ankle sprain and is out indefinitely.

Rackley was one of the worst starting offensive linemen in football as a rookie, so there may be no falloff in Jacksonville's run blocking and pass pro at left guard. The Jaguars are thinning fast on the O-Line, though. G/C Jason Spitz is lost for the season, and the Jags didn't draft a single lineman in April.

Jaguars LG Will Rackley (high-ankle sprain) returned to practice on Saturday.

Rackley ended up missing a little over three weeks. It's doubtful he's back to 100 percent, but with 15 days to go until Week 1, Rackley should be ready for Opening Day.

Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey says LG Will Rackley will miss the next 3-4 weeks with a high right ankle sprain.

It's an optimistic timetable for a high ankle sprain, keep in mind. Rackley struggled in 14 rookie-year starts, but the Jags were hoping for a significant year-two leap. Instead, they may have to turn to journeyman-caliber Jason Spitz at left guard. Rackley will be in a race to regain his job before Week 1.

Jaguars LG Will Rackley was spotted on crutches and unable to put any weight on his right ankle after going down in Tuesday's camp practice.

A teammate apparently rolled onto Rackley's ankle, and he did not return to the practice field. A second-year player, Rackley started 14 games as a rookie. If the injury is serious, the Jags might have to turn to C Jason Spitz.

Will Rackley worked as the Jaguars' starting left guard throughout offseason practices.

Rackley started 14 games as a rookie, comfortably grading out as Pro Football Focus' lowest-rated guard last season. The 2011 third-rounder struggled particularly with technique after missing last offseason while transitioning from small-school left tackle at Lehigh to the interior in Jacksonville.

Third-rounder Will Rackley has beaten out veteran Jason Spitz for the Jaguars' starting left guard job.

A favorite of NFL Network's Mike Mayock, Rackley was a four-year starter at left tackle for small-school Lehigh. His power won out over Spitz's finesse, which is a rare piece of good news for Maurice Jones-Drew this season. A possible free agent bust, Spitz is expected to play a reserve role at center and guard.

Third-round rookie OG Will Rackley is in the mix for a starting job.

After dumping Justin Smiley and Vince Manuwai, the Jags are a little thin at guard. If Rackley can take over for liability Uche Nwaneri on the right side, it's a plus for Maurice Jones-Drew and Rashad Jennings.

Jags GM Gene Smith suggested that third-rounder Will Rackley could be tried at center as well as guard this year.

"We feel like he's an eventual starter," Smith said. "We like his position versatility." Center Brad Meester, signed through 2012, is the oldest player on the team at age 34. Left guard Vince Manuwai, turning 31 in July, is entering the final year of his contract.

Jaguars traded up with the 49ers to select Lehigh G/T Will Rackley with the No. 76 overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft.

A favorite of the Sporting News' Russ Lande and NFL Network's Mike Mayock, Rackley drew a ton of NFL interest as a four-year starting left tackle at small-school Lehigh. Never having missed a game in college, Rackley surrendered just three sacks in 40 career starts. Expected to move inside as Vince Manuwai's successor, Rackley looks like another "hit" for GM Gene Smith.

Lehigh G/T Will Rackley was charged with just three sacks allowed in 40 career college starts.

Rackley was Lehigh's starting left tackle, never missing a game in college. Citing several NFL executives, the NY Daily News reports that Rackley "has quietly been the talk around the league in recent weeks." A projected second- to third-round pick, Rackley projects as a Week 1 starting guard in the NFL.

Eight NFL teams sent their offensive line coaches to Lehigh G/T Will Rackley's Pro Day late last week.

It's telling how high the NFL is on Rackley considering how small of a school he comes from. Rackley, a left tackle who projects to guard, measured in at 6-foot-3 1/4 and weighed 309. He recorded an 8-foot, 1-inch broad jump, a 4.78 20-yard shuttle, and stood on his 29 reps of 225 pounds from the Combine. Rackley is a favorite if draftniks such as Mike Mayock, Todd McShay, Josh Buchanan (JB Scouting), and Shawn Zobel (Draft Headquarters).

Lehigh G/T Will Rackley did not participate in drills at the Combine Saturday due to a left hip flexor injury.

The extent is unknown, but we're guessing Rackley will be OK by his Pro Day. Viewed as a future starting guard in the NFL, Rackley was a four-year starting left tackle at Lehigh. He weighed in at 6-foot-3 and 307 pounds on Friday.
