Bengals placed LB Dontay Moch on the reserve/non-football injury list, ending his season.
They also signed LB Emmanuel Lamur. Moch's season ends after just one game due to recurring migraine headaches. He was drafted in the third round last year, and the one appearance is the only of his career so far. Moch will have to battle for a roster spot in 2013 training camp, if his health is up for it. Bengals LB Dontay Moch has been added back to the active roster.

Moch served a four-game PED suspension before the Bengals used a roster exemption to hold him out in Week 5. A third-round pick in 2011, Moch missed his entire rookie season with a broken foot. He'll attempt to carve out a role on special teams.

Bengals DC Mike Zimmer says suspended LB Dontay Moch "needs to get better at linebacker."

"He’s been here for a year and he’s making mistakes that he shouldn’t be making," Zimmer said Monday. "He’s sat in the meetings and heard stuff but that’s not the best way for him to learn. He has to get out there and do it." A third-round pick last season, Moch missed his entire rookie year and is suspended for the first four games of 2012. His roster spot is very much in danger.

NFL suspended Bengals OLB Dontay Moch four games for violating the league's policy against banned substances.

Moch, who missed the entire 2011 season due to injury, has appealed the suspension. The former third-round pick is highly athletic, but his lack of exposure could ultimately put his status with the Bengals in question. If Moch makes an impact this season, it will likely be on special teams and as a situational pass rusher.

Bengals OLB Dontay Moch (foot) has resumed practicing.

The third-round pick broke his foot early in Bengals' training camp. He's expected to be inactive for the next two weeks as he works his way back into game shape. The large majority of his contributions this season should come on special teams.

ESPN's John Clayton reports that Bengals OLB Dontay Moch could miss upwards of eight weeks with a fractured foot.

The third-round pick out of Nevada suffered the injury in the team's preseason opener. Moch was expected to transition from college end to outside linebacker, making missed weeks of practice that much more of a setback. He'll likely serve as a "gunner" on special teams when he returns to full health.

Third-round OLB Dontay Moch is believed to have suffered a broken foot in the Bengals' preseason opener Friday.

He was on crutches and sporting a boot on his right foot after the game. Primarily expected to contribute on special teams this season, Moch's rookie campaign is very much in danger.

The Bengals official website confirms that third-round OLB Dontay Moch isn't going to play much on defense as a rookie.

Special teams coach Darrin Simmons is already dreaming of ways to use Moch's size and speed package in punt coverage. His primary year-one position will be "gunner" as he makes the transition from college defensive end to outside linebacker.

The Bengals will use No. 66 overall pick Dontay Moch at outside linebacker after he played defensive end at Nevada.

Moch is a pass rusher first, but the Bengals believe he's athletic enough to stand up and rush in the nickel defense. They have some history of success with this, including Michael Johnson and, when Marvin Lewis was in Baltimore, Adalius Thomas. Don't expect more than a situational role for Moch as a rookie.

Bengals selected Nevada OLB/DE Dontay Moch with the No. 66 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

Owner of the fastest defensive end time at the Combine (4.44), Moch will have to move to outside linebacker at just 6'2/248. An extremely raw but highly athletic hybrid rusher, Moch will be a developmental project for defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer. Expect him to be eased in as a special teams demon and situational pass rusher.

Updating a previous item, Nevada DE/OLB Dontay Moch measured 6-foot-1 3/8 and 248 pounds at the Scouting Combine.

He's not 6-foot-2. It doesn't sound like much, but Moch will get dinged a bit because he doesn't hit the 6-foot-2 benchmark for pass rushers, which will drop him down many 3-4 teams' draft boards. Moch still offers elite production and speed, and should be assured of a day-two grade entering the draft.

Nevada DE/OLB Dontay Moch was clocked at 4.44 in the forty Monday at the NFL Combine.

It's a ridiculous time for a guy that measured at 6-foot-2 and 248 pounds -- the fastest, in fact, time recorded for a defensive end since 2000. Moch will have to make the move to outside linebacker at the next level, something he shouldn't have a problem doing with that kind of speed. He's been projected as a 2nd-3rd round pick.
