Jets WR Clyde Gates was declared done for the day in Week 17 with a head injury.
Gates battled a concussion late in the season, so it's fair to wonder if he suffered another one. A 2011 fourth-round pick by the division rival Dolphins, Gates latched on with the Jets after Miami's final cuts and wound up playing significant snaps in New York, mostly due to injuries. The raw, deep-threat prospect finished the season with 16 catches for 224 yards and no touchdowns. Sun, Dec 30, 2012 02:58:00 PM

Clyde Gates caught three passes for a team-leading 65 yards in New York's Week 16 loss to the Chargers.

Today was just the second time all year Gates cleared 30 yards. Whether or not the former fourth-round pick is back with the Jets next season will depend on if GM Mike Tannenbaum is retained.

Clyde Gates (concussion) returned to a limited practice on Saturday and is officially listed as questionable for Week 15 on Monday night versus the Titans.

Gates did not practice at all on Thursday or Friday and hasn't played at all since Thanksgiving night against the Patriots. The speedy receiver still has to pass another concussion test, though, so he'll be a game-time decision. Gates isn't a fantasy option.

Jets WR Clyde Gates (concussion) has not resumed practicing.

Gates has not been cleared despite suffering his concussion on Thanksgiving. He's missing a prime opportunity for snaps with the Jets' receiving corps decimated.

Jets declared WR Clyde Gates, QB Tim Tebow, DL Damon Harrison, S Eric Smith, OG Caleb Schlauderaff, CB Aaron Berry, and OLB Ricky Sapp inactive for Week 13.

The Jets will hope for no butt-fumbles this week. If another one occurs against the Cardinals and injures Mark Sanchez, they'd have to turn to Greg McElroy.

Jets WR Clyde Gates (concussion) is not expected to play in Week 13 versus the Cardinals.

While Chaz Schilens (concussion) is limited in practice for the second straight day, Gates has yet to take the field this week. He must be having a tough time passing his baseline test. None of the Jets receivers is an advisable fantasy play versus a strong pass defense.

Coach Rex Ryan confirmed that WR Clyde Gates sustained a concussion versus the Patriots Thursday night.

Gates left just before halftime, playing 29-of-72 snaps. Stephen Hill led the Jets with 46 snaps while Jeremy Kerley played 45 and Chaz Schilens 40. Gates will have 10 days to gain clearance for Week 13 versus the Cardinals.

Clyde Gates exited Thursday night's game against the Patriots with a potential head injury.

Gates was involved in a collision with Patriots CB Kyle Arrington just before halftime. Both players were shaken up on the play, but Gates suffered the brunt of the hit. He walked off the field with the training staff.

Clyde Gates started the Jets' Week 11 win over the Rams, catching one pass for 10 yards.

Gates also rushed once for 12 yards. Gates' first "start" of the year came at the expense of ineffective rookie Stephen Hill. Gates occasionally makes an impact in the Jets' dysfunctional offense, but couldn't be further from WR5 consideration.

Clyde Gates led the Jets in receiving in Week 8 against the Dolphins.

Gates did all of his damage with the Jets in comeback mode, but it's possible he could see an expanded role on special teams if Joe McKnight (ankle) requires an extended absence. Playing against his former team, he finished with seven receptions and 82 yards.

Jets WR Clyde Gates (shoulder) has yet to practice this week.

Gates has been sporting a sling at Jets headquarters this week. He's not going to be available versus the Colts, though Stephen Hill (hamstring) is expected back.

Jets WR Clyde Gates said his shoulder popped out of place during Monday night's loss to the Texans.

The hits keep on coming for the decimated Jets' receiving corps. Gates, who was let go by the Dolphins at final cuts, left the stadium in a sling. The only healthy Jets wideouts right now are Jeremy Kerley, Chaz Schilens and Jason Hill.

Jets WR Clyde Gates left Monday night's game against the Texans with a left shoulder injury.

Gates was injured in the second quarter. He was forced into action with Stephen Hill and Santonio Holmes out and had one catch for 27 yards before leaving. The Jets have just three healthy receivers for the rest of the night.

Jets claimed WR Clyde Gates off waivers from the Dolphins.

From one of the league's worst receiver corps to another. A fourth-round pick last season, Gates is a true burner, but proved to be extraordinarily raw as a rookie, making just two catches in 15 games. He's not the answer for the Jets' beleaguered receiver corps.

Dolphins waived WR Clyde Gates.

It's a really bad sign for Gates' future if he can't stick in the league's worst receiving corps. Despite 4.37 wheels, he struggled to pick up new coach Joe Philbin's offense and was no longer needed on kickoff returns. The 2011 fourth-round pick figures to get another shot elsewhere thanks to his raw speed.
