Steelers waived/injured CB Demarcus Van Dyke.

The burner out of Miami suffered a severe hamstring injury early in training camp and wasn't going to play early in the season. "DVD" can spend all of 2013 on injured reserve and return to compete for a roster spot in 2014.

Steelers CB Demarcus Van Dyke is dealing with a "significant" hamstring injury.

Van Dyke ran a 4.28 forty at the 2011 Combine and was an Al Davis special in Oakland, but he didn't play a single defensive snap last season in Pittsburgh. He's no more than the No. 5 corner, and the injury hurts his roster chances.

Steelers CB Demarcus Van Dyke required reconstructive surgery on his shoulder after his Week 14 injury.

Signed just after the start of the season after being waived by Oakland, Van Dyke appeared in nine games with Pittsburgh as primarily a special teamer and deep-reserve corner. He's scheduled for exclusive rights free agency and will compete for a roster spot in 2013 training camp if tendered by the club.

Steelers placed CB Demarcus Van Dyke on injured reserve, ending his season.

Van Dyke dislocated his shoulder against the Chargers in Week 14. His second NFL season ends with just three tackles during extremely limited playing time in nine games.

Steelers agreed to terms with CB Demarcus Van Dyke.

The fastest player at the 2011 Combine with a forty time of 4.28, Van Dyke surprisingly went unclaimed on waivers early this week. Although Van Dyke's coverage was inconsistent, he's long, can obviously run, and showed flashes of potential as a first-year player. Former Steelers great Rod Woodson may have given "DVD" a good review after coaching Raiders cornerbacks last season.

Raiders waived CB Demarcus Van Dyke.

The move clears a spot for Joselio Hanson. An Al Davis special, "DVD" ran a 4.28 forty at last year's Combine, but was spotty in coverage, and mostly utilized at nickel back in college. He's only 23 and was far from a disaster as a rookie, however, so it's still a surprising move. The steadier and more experienced Hanson will replace Van Dyke in the slot, further signaling Oakland's sea change in philosophy since the passing of its longtime owner. Van Dyke's youth and athleticism should land him a new job within the week.

Second-year CB Demarcus Van Dyke has reportedly been the "biggest surprise" of Raiders camp thus far.

Van Dyke held his own in four spot starts as a rookie, but it sounds like he's taking his game to the next level in year two. Van Dyke is long and runs well, and he could end up pushing for penciled-in RCB Shawntae Spencer's starting job.

Raiders declared CBs Demarcus Van Dyke (hamstring) and Chris Johnson (groin, hamstring) out for Week 10.

The Raiders will now be forced to start washed up Lito Sheppard opposite Stanford Routt at cornerback against Philip Rivers, who is coming off a 385-yard, four-touchdown performance against the Packers. Keep the Raiders defense benched this week.

Raiders signed No. 81 overall pick Demarcus Van Dyke to a four-year contract.

Van Dyke was perceived as a reach by some draftniks after playing mostly as a nickel back last season, but he's also drawn comparisons to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie for his natural skill set and blazing speed. The Raiders are likely to bring "DVD" along slowly under new defensive backs coach Rod Woodson.

Raiders selected Miami CB Demarcus Van Dyke with the No. 81 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

Van Dyke didn't start for the Canes last year, playing behind Ryan Hill and Brandon Harris. But the Raiders couldn't resist DVD's speed. He ran 4.28 at February's Combine at 6'1/174. Van Dyke has drawn some optimistic comparisons to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, although he rarely played to that capability at The U. He had three interceptions in his entire college career, and is more track athlete than football player at this point.

The Eagles are known to have set up 35 pre-draft meetings with draft prospects, and 11 of them have been with defensive backs.

It's no secret that Philadelphia needs an upgrade opposite Asante Samuel. The Birds have shown a particular interest in Miami CB Demarcus Van Dyke, who ran the fastest forty at this year's Combine. ESPN's Mel Kiper suggested in a Wednesday conference call that "DVD" could go as early as round two.

Fresh off running a 4.28 40 at the NFL Combine, Miami (FL) CB Demarcus Van Dyke has private workouts scheduled with both the Eagles and Browns.

His 40 time was the fastest at this year's Combine, and third fastest since 2000. He obviously has NFL speed, and at 6-foot-1, 176 pounds he's also got great size. However, he wasn't even a starter at Miami last season, and now teams must decide if there was a reason beyond poor coaching for his lack of playing time.

Miami University CB Demarcus Van Dyke logged the fastest time at the 2011 NFL Combine, boasting an official 4.28 forty.

Van Dyke's forty is the third-fastest since 2000, trailing only Chris Johnson (4.24) and Stanford Routt (4.27). In an interview with PFT's Evan Silva, the potential mid-round pick revealed that the Cowboys and Bills have shown the most interest thus far.
