Shareece Wright worked as the Bills' first-team cornerback in Friday's practice after the trade of Ronald Darby.

You may recall Wright's name from last year's Ravens, where he got cooked so often in coverage PFF's Pat Thorman nicknamed him "Char-reece" for the extreme frequency at which Wright got burned. The Ravens were forced to bench him and released Wright after the season. Daily fantasy players should take note.

Bills signed CB Shareece Wright, formerly of the Ravens.

Released by the Ravens in March, Wright visited the Bills last month and lands a gig following the draft. Buffalo selected CB Tre'Davious White with its first-round pick on Thursday night, but Wright will provide some experienced depth alongside White and fellow young CB Ronald Darby after the team lost Stephon Gilmore in free agency. Wright, 30, was oft-burned in Baltimore.

Free agent CB Shareece Wright visited the Bills.

It's the first interest in Wright since he was released from the Ravens last month. A part-time starter the past two years, Wright would be another flyer for Buffalo as they look to replace Stephon Gilmore.

Ravens released CB Shareece Wright.

The Ravens have also released S Kendrick Lewis, creating $4.9 million in cap space. Wright was an on again/off again starter over the past two seasons as he battled a variety of minor injuries. Going on 30, he's never been an overly effective player. The Ravens need to improve the back end of their defense.

The Ravens expect LCB Shareece Wright (back) to return to the lineup for Week 6.

If so, it's great news for Odell Beckham. Wright was burned relentlessly in the Ravens' first four games before suffering back spasms Sunday morning. "His back locked up on him," coach John Harbaugh said. The Ravens turned to rookie Tavon Young at left corner and he was dusted for a potential long touchdown bomb by DeSean Jackson, but Kirk Cousins overthrew D-Jax. Young probably didn't do enough to take the starting job away from Wright.

Ravens LCB Shareece Wright is inactive for Week 5 against the Redskins.

The Ravens said back spasms are the reason Wright is sitting, but he very well could be a healthy scratch. Wright gave up five touchdowns in his last three games. The Ravens will turn to Sheldon Price opposite Jimmy Smith, and may now be more willing to use Smith to shadow opposing No. 1 receivers. The rest of the Ravens' Week 5 inactives are WR Chris Moore, LB Kamalei Correa, DT Willie Henry, S Marqueston Huff, LT Ronnie Stanley, and DE/OLB Matt Judon.

Ravens re-signed CB Shareece Wright to a three-year contract worth up to $16 million contract.

The deal contains $5 million guaranteed, including $4 million signing bonus. Wright joined Baltimore in October after being cut by the 49ers. Despite being burned by San Francisco in his first game with the Ravens, Wright held his own in six starts. Wright will compete for a starting job, but the Ravens still have work to do in the secondary.

Ravens signed CB Shareece Wright, formerly of the 49ers.

Wright, 28, wasn't getting any playing time for the 49ers and asked for his release last week. He was granted it on Saturday. Wright will provide veteran depth for the Ravens after they lost CB Will Davis to a torn ACL.

Free agent CB Shareece Wright visited the Colts on Monday.

Apparently, several teams are interested in Wright after he was released by the 49ers over the weekend. Despite the interest, Wright isn't a difference maker.

49ers released CB Shareece Wright.

A healthy scratch the first four games, Wright asked for his release last month. The 49ers failed to get anything out of Wright after giving him a one-year, $3 million deal this offseason. 28-year-old Wright has graded as one of the worst cover corners the past two years, but should draw free-agent interest.
Sat, Oct 10, 2015 04:34:00 PM's Ian Rapoport reports 49ers CB Shareece Wright wants to be traded or released.

The ex-Charger is playing on a one-year, $3 million contract, but has been a healthy scratch for each of the 49ers' first three games. Wright struggled mightily in each of 2013 and 2014, and boasts little leverage.

49ers signed CB Shareece Wright to a one-year, $3 million contract.

He can earn another $1 million in incentives. Wright should compete to be the 49ers' starting outside corner opposite Tramaine Brock, with Jimmie Ward playing the slot. One of the league's worst cover corners the past two seasons, Wright is a downgrade from Chris Culliver and Perrish Cox.
Sat, Mar 14, 2015 06:43:00 PM

The 49ers are hosting free agent CB Shareece Wright on Friday.

This would be quite the downgrade from outgoing Chris Culliver. Going on age 28, Wright has been one of the league's worst cover corners the past two seasons. The Chargers letting him walk will be addition by subtraction.
Fri, Mar 13, 2015 02:50:00 PM

Chargers CB Shareece Wright exited Week 16 against the 49ers with a concussion.

Wright took a big hit to the side of his helmet trying to prevent Bruce Ellington from scoring late in the second quarter. Wright stayed down on the turf for several minutes before being escorted into the locker room. He was ruled out in the second half.
