Bills placed WR Greg Salas (groin) on injured reserve.
He's probably not a candidate for Buffalo's I.R./return exemption, which may be reserved for Sammy Watkins (I.R./foot). The Bills will push forward with Marquise Goodwin and Walter Powell behind de-factor No. 1 WR Robert Woods. Oct 7 - 4:07 PM

Greg Salas (groin) has been ruled out for Week 5 against the Rams.

Salas hasn't played since Week 2. It'll be Robert Woods, Marquise Goodwin, and Walter Powell. Waiver claim Justin Hunter may also play some snaps.

Bills WR Greg Salas (groin) has been ruled out for Week 4 against the Patriots.

Salas got in a limited practice Wednesday before being downgraded to DNP Thursday and Friday. It'll be Robert Woods, Marquise Goodwin, and Walter Powell as the Bills' top three receivers with Sammy Watkins (foot, I.R.) also out.

Greg Salas (groin) is questionable for Week 3 against the Cardinals.

Salas was limited the last two days. He's coming off a 4/89/1 line on five targets in Week 2. With Sammy Watkins (questionable, foot) not expected to play, Salas will have a role in three-wide sets if active.
Sep 23 - 5:19 PM

Bills WR Greg Salas suffered a groin injury in Thursday's practice, getting in a "limited" session.

Coach Rex Ryan was cagey on Salas' status, saying he didn't know how the injury happened. It's notable because Salas would be in for a big role were Sammy Watkins (foot) to sit against the Cardinals. Salas went 4/89/1 on five targets against the Jets in Week 2.
Sep 22 - 1:52 PM

Greg Salas caught 4-of-5 targets for 89 yards and a touchdown in Buffalo's Week 2 loss to the Jets.

We hadn't heard Salas' name since before camp, when he was bandied about as a candidate for the Bills' No. 3 receiver job. Apparently he's still in the mix, though his outburst came after a catch-less Week 1. 71 of Salas' yards also came on one catch, a touchdown where the Jets lost track of him with Tyrod Taylor on the move. It's hard to see Salas coming into WR5 value in any format.
Sep 16 - 12:21 AM

The Buffalo News believes Bills WR Greg Salas is "on the short list" for the No. 3 job.

Salas looked to be the favorite earlier this offseason, but Dez Lewis earned nothing but praise for his performance during OTAs and minicamp. Unless sixth-rounder Kolby Listenbee (hernia surgery) shows extremely well in camp, the No. 3 job should come down to those two. Even if he does not win an offensive role, Salas' punt-return ability could earn him a roster spot.
Jul 23 - 8:57 AM

Bills WRs coach Sanjay Lal said the team is counting on Greg Salas to "take another step."

Counting on a journeyman entering his age-28 season to "take another step" feels like a fool's errand, but that did not stop Lal from talking up Salas. "He is a smart, savvy, excellent route runner," said Lal. "So we’re really counting on him to come through and take another step and really be the guy that when all else fails Greg is going to be able to get open." Unless Buffalo adds a veteran before training camp, Salas seems like the favorite for the No. 3 job.
May 27 - 2:09 PM

The Buffalo News' Tyler Dunne thinks Greg Salas has an early 'leg up' in the Bills' No. 3 receiver competition.

Dunne qualifies by saying his prediction comes "far, far, far too early" in the offseason, but Salas winning the No. 3 job would make sense. He has good size (6-2, 210), can play in the slot, and is probably the best option currently on the roster. That says more about the depth chart than Salas, however, and it would not be surprising if Buffalo added someone before training camp. The Bills hosted free agent WR Andre Roberts this week.
May 21 - 11:13 AM’s Chris Brown considers Greg Salas a candidate to replace Chris Hogan.

Buffalo has one of the worst depth charts behind Sammy Watkins, with Robert Woods, Marquise Goodwin, and Salas all competing for spots. Salas has experience in the slot, but it would be surprising if he was more than a No. 5 receiver. An injury-prone journeyman, Salas has seen limited snaps with five teams over the last four seasons.
Mar 19 - 5:49 PM

Bills signed WR Greg Salas and DE Jerel Worthy.

WR Marcus Thigpen has been waived. The Bills are churning the back end of their roster with two weeks to go. Salas has 16 catches over the past three seasons.

Lions placed WR Greg Salas (knee) on injured reserve.

Salas was productive this preseason with 138 yards and a touchdown on 10 receptions, but he suffered a knee injury in the final exhibition game.

Lions WR Greg Salas left Thursday night's preseason finale with a knee injury and won't return.

Battling for a roster spot, Salas has been a productive player in exhibition games for Detroit. The knee injury will almost certainly keep him off the 53-man roster.
Thu, Sep 3, 2015 08:02:00 PM reporter Tim Twentyman listed Greg Salas as a player on the roster bubble.

Salas has impressed in his two preseason games, leading the team with 100 yards on six catches. It could be tough for him to land a roster spot with Calvin Johnson and Corey Fuller ahead of him on the depth chart. Fringe receivers T.J. Jones and Ryan Broyles are also hoping to crack the 53-man roster.

Greg Salas caught five passes for 92 yards with a touchdown in Thursday's preseason opener against the Jets.

Salas stated his case for the slot receiver job by going nuts with Dan Orlovsky under center. The highlight was a 20-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Meanwhile, Ryan Broyles, Lance Moore and T.J. Jones failed to distinguish themselves.
