Jets NT Kenrick Ellis was forced from New York's Week 11 game against the Rams with a knee injury, but later returned.

Ellis was making his first appearance since going down in Week 5 with a knee injury, so the Jets have dodged a bullet.

The Jets now say NT Kenrick Ellis will miss 4-6 weeks with a "significant" knee injury.

It sounds like Ellis has a tear in his MCL. The Jets were already giving up 172.4 yards per game on the ground and now figure to be even worse. Colts rookie RB Vick Ballard has a plus matchup as he gets his first NFL start Sunday.

Jets NT Kenrick Ellis (knee) will reportedly miss a maximum of four weeks.

This is more bad news for a struggling Jets defense that ranks 31st against the run. With Sione Pouha also banged up, the Jets could be forced to turn to undrafted rookie Ramon Harrison at nose tackle. Things are shaping up quite nicely for Vick Ballard and the Colts running game in Week 6.

Jets NT Kenrick Ellis reportedly suffered an MCL sprain in Monday night's loss to the Texans.

The hits keep coming for the Jets, as Ellis is expected to miss at least two weeks. Ellis was replaced by undrafted rookie Damon Harrison on Monday night.

Jets NT Kenrick Ellis left Monday night's game against the Texans with a knee injury.

Ellis started for the injured Sione Pouha and was forced from the game in the fourth quarter. Undrafted rookie Damon Harrison stepped in for Ellis.

Jets DT Kenrick Ellis will reportedly escape NFL suspension for a misdemeanor assault and battery conviction.

Ellis was given a 45-day sentence for the incident, dating back to Hampton University in 2010. Having already served half of the sentence, Ellis will wait until next offseason to serve the other half. Ellis' NFL career has not been affected by the conviction.

Jets DT Kenrick Ellis will serve 45 days in jail, beginning June 15, for his 2010 assault arrest.

He'll only miss the "first few days of training camp," with league discipline possibly forthcoming. Ellis will serve 90 days behind bars all told, but the sentence appears to have been split. He's currently eligible to play in Week 1.

ESPN New York's Rich Cimini reports Jets DT Kenrick Ellis is subject to review under the NFL's personal-conduct policy for his April 2010 assault charge.

Even though the incident happened in college, Ellis could still receive a fine and/or suspension if found to be in violation of the league's conduct policy. Earlier this week, Ellis accepted a plea-bargain and is expected to serve 90 days in jail in exchange for a reduced charge of misdemeanor assault and battery. If he begins serving the full 90-day sentence right away, he would miss training camp and return in late August.

Jets DT Kenrick Ellis is expected to serve 90 days in jail after agreeing to plead guilty in exchange for a reduced charge of misdemeanor assault and battery.

Ellis was originally charged with malicious wounding after breaking the jaw and nose of a man during an altercation on the Hampton (Va.) University campus. A native of Jamaica, Ellis will avoid deportation after the deal. He would miss training camp and return in late August if he begins serving the full 90-day sentence right away.

Jets DT Kenrick Ellis' trial on a felony malicious wounding charge will begin May 22.

Ellis' trial has been delayed three times, but appears set to actually be a go. The 2011 third-round pick will stand trial in Hampton, Va. Ellis attended Hampton University. Not a U.S. citizen, Ellis is facing up to 20 years in prison and possible deportation to his native Jamaica if found guilty. Buried on the depth chart behind NT Sione Pouha, Ellis played just 69 snaps as a rookie.

Jets DT Kenrick Ellis' trial on a malicious wounding felony charge has been pushed back from February 7 to May 22.

This is the third time Ellis' trial, which was originally scheduled for last July, has been pushed back. Not a U.S. citizen, Ellis would be facing deportation to his native Jamaica if found guilty. A third-round pick, Ellis was used sparingly during his rookie season, notching just seven tackles in five games.

Jets rookie DT Kenrick Ellis' trial on a malicious wounding felony charge has been postponed until February.

The trial was originally scheduled for late November. The reason for the postponement isn't clear, but the Jets can now rest assured that Ellis will be available for the entire season. He made his NFL debut as a situational run-stuffer on Monday night.

Third-round pick DT Kenrick Ellis made his NFL debut on Monday against the Dolphins, making three tackles with two of them going for a loss.

Ellis played limited snaps, as expected. The Dolphins ran just a few tenths of a point north of their 4.3 yards per carry average entering Monday, as the Jets allowed 118 yards on 25 carries for a 4.7 yards per carry mark. The 346-pound run-plugger's development is a wild-card for a Jets run defense that is struggling to meet its lofty expectations.

Third-round pick Kenrick Ellis is expected to make his NFL debut in Monday night's game against the Dolphins.

"It’s looking that way," defensive coordinator Mike Pettine said, explaining that he wants to "beef up the middle." Ellis is a potential solution, at least, at 346 pounds. He's been a healthy scratch in New York's first five games.
