Free agent WR Austin Pettis worked out for the Chargers on Wednesday.

Pettis has also worked out for the Seahawks and Panthers since being released by the Rams in October. With Keenan Allen sidelined for likely the rest of the season, the Chargers may give Pettis a look if they qualify for the postseason. Pettis had 107 catches and nine touchdowns across four seasons with the Rams.

Free agent WRs Austin Pettis and Arrelious Benn worked out for the Seahawks.

Neither was offered a contract. The Seahawks have one of the league's least-effective receiver corps, but Pettis wouldn't be any sort of an upgrade.

Austin Pettis was late for a Rams team activity over the weekend.

Pettis and practice squad WR Emory Blake were both late, and both have since been cut. But that was likely just the straw that broke the camel's back on Pettis. The former third-round pick had already agreed to a paycut and somehow averaged just 9.66 yards per reception in his NFL career. Stedman Bailey and Chris Givens are better prospects.

Rams waived WR Austin Pettis.

Pettis wasn't a bad player for St. Louis, but it's obviously too early for the Rams to admit their mistake on Tavon Austin, and Stedman Bailey deserves more playing time at slot receiver. As Pettis is a somewhat useful possession target with red-zone chops and a cheap salary, he may very well get claimed.

Rams declared WR Austin Pettis, QB Case Keenum, CB Trumaine Johnson, C Tim Barnes, S Maurice Alexander, CB Brandon McGeee, and DL Ethan Westbrooks inactive for Week 7 against the Seahawks.

After Chris Givens got the health scratch treatment last week at receiver for the Rams, it's now Pettis' turn to don sweats on the sideline. Johnson remains out with a knee injury, which was initially called a sprained MCL. Janoris Jenkins and E.J. Gaines will continue to start at corner, with Lamarcus Joyner at nickel.

Austin Pettis (ankle) returned to Rams practice Thursday, getting in a full session.

Pettis will be fine for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. As usual, he's miles from Week 7 fantasy relevance.

Austin Pettis (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

Pettis had three catches for 15 yards in Monday night's loss to the 49ers. Tavon Austin would be the Rams' full-time slot receiver if he misses time.

Austin Pettis has taken a pay cut.

Pettis accepted a $481,000 pay cut in exchange for a $250,000 signing bonus, resulting in a net loss of $231,000. Pettis only caught four passes in the preseason, and is well off the fantasy radar.

Austin Pettis wasn't targeted in Saturday's preseason game against the Browns.

Pettis now has only one catch through three preseason games. He might not survive final cuts.

Rams WR Austin Pettis could be in danger of losing his roster spot.

Pettis set career highs in catches (38) and yards (399) last year, but struggled with consistency and was not drafted by the Rams' current regime. Working in Pettis' favor is Stedman Bailey's four-game suspension. St. Louis can save $1.4 million in cap space by cutting Pettis, and would absorb $144,567 in dead money.

Austin Pettis caught 2-of-2 targets for 15 yards in the Rams' Week 17 loss to the Seahawks.

Pettis finished the regular season with career highs in catches (38) and yards (399) and has some red-zone chops, but lost playing time down the stretch to rookie Stedman Bailey. It's worth noting that Pettis was not drafted by the Rams' current regime. With his contract up after 2014, it's possible Pettis will be available for trade this offseason. He's not a part of the long-term plan in St. Louis.

Austin Pettis caught two passes for 16 yards in St. Louis' Week 16 win over the Bucs.

Pettis did a brilliant Austin Pettis impression this afternoon. Pettis has nine catches over his past seven games.

Austin Pettis caught four passes for 41 yards in Week 15 against the Saints.

Pettis caught all four of his targets, which led the team. The Rams did their damage on the ground on offense, while the defense wreaked havoc on Drew Brees. Pettis was Kellen Clemens’ safety valve on third downs early on. Pettis isn’t a fantasy option.

Austin Pettis wasn't targeted in St. Louis' Week 12 win over the Bears.

Pettis' role continues to dwindle, as both Brian Quick and Stedman Bailey had bigger roles on offense against Chicago. Pettis can be dropped in all formats, including Dynasty leagues.
