Dolphins CB Chris Culliver (knee, PUP) will return to practice this week.
Culliver is recovering from ACL and MCL tears he suffered in November. The Dolphins really need help in the secondary, but it could take Culliver a couple weeks to get up to speed. Miami will have 21 days to activate him once he starts practicing. Oct 18 - 10:52 AM

Dolphins CB Chris Culliver (knee) will begin the season on the reserve/PUP.

It was expected Culliver would start the year on the PUP when the Dolphins signed him earlier this month. He will miss at least the first six weeks, but he could be a valuable mid-season boost for a team desperate at corner. Second-round rookie Xavien Howard, who has missed all of the preseason with a knee injury, is expected to open the year opposite Byron Maxwell in the starting lineup.

Dolphins placed CB Chris Culliver (knee) on the active/PUP list.

Culliver tore his ACL and MCL in late November and is a candidate to open the year on reserve/PUP, costing him at least the first six weeks of the season. Culliver isn't going to help Miami's dire cornerback situation right away. One of Tony Lippett, Xavien Howard, or Chimdi Chekwa is expected to start Week 1 opposite Byron Maxwell. This looks like a defense to pick on early.
Aug 10 - 9:04 AM

Dolphins signed CB Chris Culliver to a one-year contract.

The deal is reportedly worth "up to" $5 million. With a smoking crater behind Byron Maxwell on the depth chart, the Dolphins had to do something. Culliver is coming off a torn ACL, but is still only 28 (this month). He had a strong 2014 for the 49ers. If Culliver is healthy, he'll allow the Dolphins to ease in second-rounder Xavien Howard (knee) while moving on from "Tony Lippett." It's still not a good situation. The Dolphins' cornerback corps could be one of 2016's most torched.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports CB Chris Culliver (knee) is scheduled to visit the Cardinals next week.

Culliver might not be ready to sign a contract after tearing his ACL and MCL in November, so the Cardinals could just be checking in on his recovery. Arizona added Mike Jenkins on Tuesday, and it is clear they are looking for more help in the secondary. Culliver could be another veteran option once he gets healthy.
Jul 19 - 12:28 PM

Redskins released CB Chris Culliver.

Culliver signed a "four-year, $32 million contract" last March, but tore his ACL and MCL in November. The remaining guarantees in his contract were voided by a Week 2 suspension for violating the league's personal-conduct policy. Culliver was excellent in 2014, and is still only 27. He'll get a second chance, but will have to be healthy first. The Redskins used a third-round pick on Virginia Tech CB Kendall Fuller.

ESPN Redskins reporter John Keim reports CB Chris Culliver (ACL, MCL) is expected to be retained.

A one-game suspension voided the $8 million guaranteed Culliver was owed in 2016, but Keim reports the Redskins will honor the guarantee. It is an odd decision. Culliver was not effective while on the field last year and is not likely to be ready by Week 1 after tearing his ACL and MCL in November. With several big needs to fill including in the secondary, the Redskins could use an extra $5.5 million on the cap.

The Washington Times reports the suspension Redskins RCB Chris Culliver (ACL, MCL) served Week 2 voided all remaining guaranteed money on his contract.

Culliver was owed $8 million guaranteed in 2016, but a clause in his contract voided that money if he was suspended for a 2014 off-field incident. The change means it will only cost the Redskins $3.75 million in dead cap to cut Culliver this offseason. Culliver struggled while on the field in his one year as a Redskin and is questionable at best for Week 1 after tearing his right ACL and MCL in late November. Washington may decide to move on.
Jan 23 - 1:21 PM

Redskins RCB Chris Culliver is out for the season with a torn right ACL and MCL.

Culliver suffered the injury in Thursday morning's practice. Even before the multi-knee-ligament tear, Culliver was playing poor football for a Redskins team that invested a four-year, $32 million contract in him during the offseason. He was the highest-paid free agent Washington bought last spring. Culliver will be questionable to be ready for Week 1 of the 2016 season.

The Redskins fear RCB Chris Culliver tore his ACL in practice this week.

Culliver suffered a right knee injury in Thursday morning's practice and was immediately sent for an MRI. Culliver has been injured and ineffective all season. His loss isn't necessarily bad news for the Redskins' defense.

Redskins CB Chris Culliver injured his right knee in practice Thursday and will undergo an MRI.

Culliver has had issues with his left knee this season and needed an MRI on his shoulder earlier this week. He was spotted wearing a full brace on his right leg after practice. Culliver has toughed his way through injuries several times, but this one may knock him out of Week 12. DeAngelo Hall would be thrust back into the starting lineup if Culliver misses.

Redskins CBs Chris Culliver (knee) and Bashaud Breeland (hamstring) are active for Week 9 against the Patriots.

DeAngelo Hall (toe), who has not played since Week 3, remains out. The Washington secondary is back to something resembling health, but it is unlikely to matter against Tom Brady. Every important part of the Patriots' passing game is a good start this week.

Redskins RCB Chris Culliver (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 9.

Culliver's on track to play coming off Washington's bye. He practiced all week, but is a game-time decision.

Redskins RCB Chris Culliver (knee) has been ruled out for Week 6 against the Jets.

The Skins will also be without LCB DeAngelo Hall (toe), while slot/LCB Bashaud Breeland is battling a rotator cuff injury that limits the range of motion in his shoulder. This is all good news for Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker.

Redskins RCB Chris Culliver (knee) has been ruled out for Week 5 against the Falcons.

Julio Jones owners salivate. The Redskins will be without both Culliver and LCB DeAngelo Hall (toe), leaving nickel CB Bashaud Breeland atop the depth chart, followed by Kyshoen Jarrett and Will Blackmon. After Jones' quiet 4-38 line in Week 4, it could be back to a monster day for the NFL's leading receiver.
