Panthers signed S Da'Norris Searcy, formerly of the Titans, to a two-year contract.
Searcy made an appearance in all 16 games for the Titans last season but was expendable with All-Pro Kevin Byard and free-agent pickup Johnathan Cyprien still on the team. With Kurt Coleman released, the Panthers' top two safeties are Searcy and 36-year-old Mike Adams. Mar 23 - 9:27 AM

Titans released S Da'Norris Searcy.

The move saves $3.85 million against the cap. Searcy was signed away from Buffalo back in 2015 and started 33 games for the Titans before being benched in favor of All-Pro Kevin Byard and free-agent pickup Johnathan Cyprien last season. Searcy played just 365 snaps and turns 30 this year.

Searcy has also agreed to slash his 2018 salary from $6.125 million to $3.8 million. Searcy had an uneven 2016 as he battled through a high-ankle sprain, playing 552 mediocre snaps. Second-year pro Kevin Byard, free agent addition Johnathan Cyprien and Searcy will be the Titans' top three safeties in 2017.

Titans SS Da'Norris Searcy is sidelined with a high-ankle sprain.

He'll miss multiple weeks. Losing Searcy is a downgrade to Tennessee's run defense. Daimion Stafford will replace him in the starting lineup.

Titans signed SS Da'Norris Searcy to a four-year, $24 million contract.

He'll get $10.5 million guaranteed, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Still only 26 years old, Searcy is a rare quality signing by Titans GM Ruston Webster as a potentially ascending player coming off a strong season in Buffalo. Of course, Searcy played behind one of the NFL's most ferocious front sevens with the Bills. The Titans' front seven is among the league's weakest.

The Nashville Tennessean reports the Titans are "poised to land" free agent SS Da'Norris Searcy.

Searcy would replace Bernard Pollard as Tennessee's starting strong safety, across from Michael Griffin. The Giants reportedly "sniffed around" Searcy early in the free agency period, with the Colts, Texans, Raiders, and Dolphins also linked to him. Searcy, 26, is coming off a solid season in Buffalo.

The Giants have "sniffed around" free agent S Da'Norris Searcy, according to NJ.com's Nick Powell.

With Antrel Rolle likely to leave in free agency, the Giants need to explore all options at safety. Devin McCourty had been on their radar prior to re-signing with New England. You could make the argument 2014 was Searcy's best season yet after logging a career-high three interceptions in 15 games. Searcy mostly played strong safety in Buffalo, though the Giants have openings at both safety positions.

The Colts, Texans, Raiders, and Dolphins are among teams that have shown interest in free agent S Da'Norris Searcy.

This sounds like an agent-driven report, but Searcy should have little trouble landing a multi-year deal coming off a strong season in Buffalo. Searcy is Rotoworld's No. 10 available safety.

Free agent S Da'Norris Searcy plans to test the open market.

A sub-package safety prior to this season, Searcy started 13 games opposite Aaron Williams. He showed improved cover skills with three interceptions, and should be able to land a multi-year deal. The Bills have Duke Williams as an in-house replacement for Searcy.

Bills SS Da’Norris Searcy got all of the first-team reps at this week's minicamp.

The Bills are moving Aaron Williams to free safety, with Searcy and Duke Williams competing on the strong side. Searcy has been working with the starting defense throughout OTAs and has the early edge. A blitz-heavy rotational safety last year, Searcy is rarely used in coverage and isn't going to see full-time snaps even if he wins the job. The Bills will likely use multiple looks in the back end of their secondary.

According to Pro Football Focus, Bills S Da'Norris Searcy blitzed on 10.9 percent of his snaps vs. the pass.

Only Roman Harper blitzed more among safeties who saw at least 50 percent of their team's passing snaps. Searcy began the season as an every-down starter, but moved to a situational role when Jairus Byrd returned from injury. With Byrd expected to fly the coop, Searcy figures to compete with Duke Williams for the starting job opposite Aaron Williams.

WGR 550 Buffalo wonders if Bills S Da'Norris Searcy is on the roster bubble.

Beat writer Joe Buscaglia named Searcy his runner-up for the "Least Valuable Player" in training camp. The third-year safety was considered the favorite for the starting strong safety job this offseason, but he's been bypassed by converted corner Aaron Williams. Searcy is a physical player and was given a long look last season, but has no ties to the new coaching staff.
