Chiefs waived CB Jalil Brown.

Chiefs signed No. 118 overall pick CB Jalil Brown to a four-year contract.

The Chiefs envision fourth-round pick Jalil Brown as a cornerback/safety "hybrid" and "core-four" special teams player.

On defense, the Chiefs have visions of Brown as capable of shutting down tight ends. Brown isn't quick enough to stay with deep threat wide receivers, but he does have good size for a cornerback at 6'1/204. Brown also has NFL-ready strength, having bench pressed 225 pounds 24 times at the Combine.

Chiefs selected Colorado CB Jalil Brown with the No. 118 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

Brown translated his great size and athleticism into five interceptions over his final two seasons at Colorado, earning all Big 12 honorable mention honors as a senior. However, he struggles with positioning, and is most effective in bump-and-run coverage. His snaps are likely to be limited in 2011.
